Cant download mountain lion with redeem code

When i try to download mountain lion with my redeem code i get an error message that claims that the code is faulty (Could not be identified as valid code). What may the problem be? I've copy pasted the code into the redeem page at appstore.

made the same mistake...the instructions are unclear
go to the email that has a pdf document at the bottom...it is a locked pdf...
paste the long number into there....i think it says "password"...
it opens aj 1 page pdf...that page has the number that you put in the redeem box...

  • Help with downloading Mountain Lion with redemption code, please

I bought a new MacBook Pro. I was able to get a redemption code, but I don't know where to plug in the redemption code. I've been on the App store web site, but I don't see where to put in the code. Also, if my OS says version 10.8, do I already have it installed?

Launch the MAS app and click on the redeem link. Then, follow the directions.

    Depends on

    Which interface you use

  • Cant download Mountain Lion, I get an error every time

I have a 2012 mac book pro 13 inch model and I cant get mountain lion to download, It keeps coming up with an error. What am i not doing right, its a brand new computer and I shouldnt be having this trouble. the operating system is 10.7.4 currently.

Helps to tell us what the error said...
Try here >  Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
Might need to temporarily disable anti virus software.
FYI, third party download managers may cause issues when downloading apps including Mountain Lion.
Apps such as Net Nanny, Hands Off, and LIttle Snitch can prevent apps from downloading.
Make sure you are using the same Apple ID associated with your Mac.
Make sure you have the correct App Store country selected. Check the round flag icon bottom right corner of the App Store.

  • Cant download Mountain Lion it always stops

    Hey,
i just bought Mountain Lion on the App Store but i have a huge problem. I can't download the Mountain Lion thing because it always tells me after 175mbs [or something like that], that i can't download it and i should check my internet connection. But my internet connection is alright i can surf and do all normal things,i also rebooted my router but it does not seem to help. Do you guys have a idea of how to fix that problem?

There was a problem in the UK with BT HomeHub's and downloading Mountain Lion - BT replaced routers for the issue, worth ringing your ISP.

  • Cant download mountain lion

My computer is up to date (OS X 10.6.8). I purchased and tried to download Mountain Lion. It just sits in the dock and doesn't download. After a long period it goes into pause mode and screen saver eventhough I put the shut down to never.
    What am I doing wrong?

It's ok if screen saver turns on, that doesn't affect the download, it's only when your computer goes to sleep mode that data will stop.
Hoever your mouse over the icon, does it tell you how much is downloaded? If not, look at your puchases tab in MAS, and it should show you some details.

  • Cant download mountain lion.. "osx cannot be installed you have s.m.a.r.t. errors"

my computer has never had a problem it is the newest imac and i download things everyday with no problems ever...
for some reason when i try to dl the new mountian lion it first says os x cannot be installed on mca hd.. and somthing about s.m.a.r.t errors..
so i went to disk utilties the top drive 500.11 gb wdc wd500... is in red and says this drive has a hardware problem that cant be repaired back up as much of the data as possible and replace the disk..
then on the bottem it says s.m.a.r.t. status failing in red...
again i never had a problem with this computer and still dont have a problem with downloading anything except for this moutain lion..
also im on the latest osx 10.7.4

You should always be doing regular backups.  Disks can fail at any time; so can other components; directories can get corrupted beyond repair, users can make mistakes, etc.
You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
If you don't like Time Machine, see Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #27 for some alternatives.
Did you purchase AppleCare with your Mac?  If so, the drive will be replaced at no charge.

  • Can i download mountain lion with early 2008

    Hi, I'd like to know...
Hum I have an old mac (MacBook Early 2009 13 inches) and I was wondering if I could download the new software OX X Mountain Lion... since it's really old.
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
OS X Mountain Lion needs a Late 2008 Aluminum or Early 2009 or newer MacBook. If you have an Early 2009 MacBook, you can upgrade, but if you have an Early 2008 MacBook, you can't upgrade to Mountain Lion > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
Open the Mac App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. While it's being downloaded, make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
I suggest you 4 GB or more of RAM to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Open  > About this Mac, and check how much memory you have. You can upgrade more memory at OWC or Crucial

  • How to download mountain lion with my free code???

I have my code but dont know where to redeem my code or put my code.
    help PLZ?????

Restore your system from your Time Machine backup.
Or if you do not have a full system backup make one using Time Machine. Then download the 10.6.8 combo updater and appy it to your system <http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399>.
Or, you can purchase OS X 10.8 on your Macbook Pro, download, transfer the installer to iMac and install it. Just be sure and backup the installer to an external HDD BEFORE you install it on the iMac.
In the future just remove the icon from the Dock and you won't have this problem. Also, make backups.

  • Can i upgrade to mountain lion with 10.5.8?

I currently have a Mac Book Pro version 10.5.8  I just got an Iphone 5 and when i plug it into my computer it pops up that I need to download the new itunes, but I cant download itunes because i dont have the right OS version.  can I download Mountain lion with 10.5.8 or do I need to download snowlepard?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

hi all. i just downloaded mountain lion and it seems to have added an old password for admin at the start up, the old password was removed so all i had to do was press enter and off i go, i cant remember it, what to do now??

    Eli,
You can reset a Password (lost/forgotten) set on your Mac using 'Reset Password Utility' available with OS X Utilities tool. With OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Utilities tool can be generally found on a local hidden Recovery HD Partition if your Mac has one.
To check If your Mac has got a local hidden Recovery HD Partition, start your Mac holding COMMAND + R buttons. If you hold the keys pressed enough and there is a local Recovery HD Partition on your Mac, you will be presented with OS X Utilities window.
Click the 'Tool' menu item and choose 'Reset password'. Terminal window appears. Type 'resetpassword' into it and press 'Enter'. Reset Password window appears with User Account Names available on your Start-up Volume. Select the User Account Name and rest is simple to follow.
One of the advantages of this method is that it does not require any Authorization method such as administrative authentication to reset a password.
NOTE: If your Mac does not have a local hidden Recovery Partition on its system disk, you can create one using Disk Assistant application available from Apple. Search for the Disk Assistant in the support area.

Download Mac OS X 10.9 from the Mac App Store. If it's incompatible with your computer, Mac OS X 10.8 will be as well.

  • Can't download Mountain Lion / iPhone 5 won't sync with iCal & Contacts on iMac

Have a 2007 iMac.  Running Snow Leopard.  Contacts and iCal aren't syncing to iPhone 5.  Did a little research and decided maybe it was because I'm not upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Tried to download Mountain Lion and it says it cannot because it requires 2GB of memory.  Help.  What do I do now?

A 2007 iMac, according to http://www.everymac.com can go up to 6 GB ram.  you have to check and see if yours is on the compatible list at http://www.apple.com/osx/specs and if it is not, you can still go to Lion by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE and purchaing a download code to use to download 10.7.5 from the Mac App Store.  Lion is compatible with iCloud, also.
You still need at least 2 GB ram, 4 GB is much better.  Go to OWC, or Crucial to see about more ram.

  • My macbook is all up to date with snow leopard but I still can't download mountain lion

I just updated my system to be able to download mountain lion and now its telling me it's not compatible with my computer. Please help???

The model 4,1 Early 2008 MacBook will not be able to run Mountain Lion, but it can run 10.7 Lion. Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store.  The price is still $29.
It's the video card. Yours has the 144mb Intel GMA X3100 with non-upgradeable 32bit drivers. The model 5,1 Late 2008 and newer have at least the 256mb NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 64bit drivers. Mountain Lion requires 64bit native drivers. Mountain Lion no longer supports Intel's GMA 950 or GMA X3100 graphics processors.
