Cant download past purchases
I've followed the instructions to download previously purchased songs to iTunes (I am using 10.3.1), however when I get to the Purchased page, I only have the tabs Apps and Books showing. It has no Music tab. I have 71 purchased songs showing in the purchased section on the left hand menu of iTunes so what's going on here? I'm trying to locate a song I downloaded only three days ago on another computer. Any suggestions anyone?
From your Purchased page, click the tab for the content type you're looking for (Music, Apps, or Books).
You can copy the song from your MacBook Air to your iMac, and then add it to the Purchased playlist.
To do this:
Locate a USB flash drive, external hard drive, or some other form of external media. We will use this to copy the song to the iMac.
Open iTunes.
Locate the song in question.
Select the song, then from the File menu choose "Show in Finder".
Select the file in the Finder and then from the Edit menu, choose Copy.
Navigate to the external storage device you connected in step 1.
Paste the file to the device by clicking the Edit menu and then click on Paste.
Eject the device from your MacBook Air.
Connect the device to your iMac.
Using the Finder, open the external device and select the file pasted in step 7.
From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
Navigate to your Home folder by clicking the Go menu option, then click on Home.
Navigate to Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Automatically Add to iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Paste.
Now open iTunes, and it will automatically import the song that you pasted in the last step. Once it has been imported, locate the song using the search feature. Once you've located it, simply drag and drop it onto the "Purchased" playlist on the left hand side of the iTunes window. Click on the Purchased playlist to confirm that it was added.
Hope that helps, have a great day.

You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days
I have a mac which my fiancee and I share. There are 2 separate accounts and 2 separate apple ids used to buy different music (i.e. we have 2 separate iphones and music collections).
I received the following error (see uploaded image) which states that, "you can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days".
Now, when I sync my iTunes and iPhone only some music that I have previously purchases is affected. For some reason they failed to sync with my iPhone and become unavailable in my iTunes ("file cannot be found"). When I deleted the record I saw that it became available for download in iTunes and then discovered this issue.
I have legally purchased the music and just want to be able to sync the files legitimately. It just seems very restrictive to say that you have to have 2 different machines for every account (i.e. you cannot have multiple users on a device with their own accounts which each have their own Apple IDs).
MikhailHi
No - that is the issue - both my husband and I use the same computer and want to be able to use our individual Apple IDs so can access our download content e.g. I-books that we have purchased through our other MAC devices such as I-Pad. In the past, we had four people using one computer with no problem regarding Apple ID. In the newer operating system, we are now restricted to one at a time - it means one of us is blocked out from accessing our content for a period of 90 days. Have you any suggestions on how we can both use our individual Apple IDs with the same lap-top? We have set up discrete accounts so we log on to the computer individually. Many thanks for any help. -
I cant download my purchased music onto my new iPhone 5. I bought almost all my music through iTunes over my phone but it wont let me download "ALL"--I have to go in individually to each album. Can anyone help me figure out how to do a single "ALL" music download?
I even tried synching from mt computer backup but it wont do it.You can only sync everything with your one syncing computer/iTunes library. Yu can:
- Make this your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
- Use the manual method to copy music and videos from any computer/iTunes library to the iPod. See the manual method included here:

So i signed into my other itunes account to download some purchase i had made on that account, went to sign back into my new account and download purchases i had made on my iphone adn it tells me "You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days.". This is a shared family computer with multiple Apple IDs being used on it. Not cool apple. This needs to be figured out. Not acceptable for families that have more than one apple ID to have to wait 3 months to download old purchases. Get real. Any way i can 'override' this?

I just updated to itunes 10.3 & iOS 6.1 and I cannot download a song to my library! I get the error "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on the computer with just one apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 75 days." WHAT??
I've never had problems before - my husband and I have used the same library for years. My daughter also has her own Apple ID... are we going to have trouble with that, too? Actually we have 4 Apple IDs - somewhere around 8 Apple devices... this is a huge issue for us... HELPJust to be clear - I just bought a new song and can't download it into the library because of this error message.

Since my daughter burned a CD from my computer using our shared libraries I cannot play my library. This pops up: "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 88 days." I can get as far as viewing my library but listening is denied by this pop-up. Can anyone help, please? I just noticed my (this) computer is not showing as registered to my account. Hmmm....a clue perhaps?
Do you have a question?

Why when I try to download songs onto my iPhone from my iPad, it pops up and says "This device is already associated with an Apple ID, You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this device with a different Apple ID for 90 days
(Note, mine says 28 days because I have been waiting for a fair bit for this to go away.)You can't keep changing the ID you use with iTunes, you are limited to once every 90 days.

I purchased an album and didn't receive all of the songs. I have iTunes 9.2.1 so I can't use the new 'Downloading past purchases" feature. How do I get the other songs? Using an Iphone 3Gs
Look under the Store menu in iTunes on your computer for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the tracks there to be downloaded.
If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form, or an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them.
