Cant Download Software Updates, Random app needs update

I have two problems with the Mac App Store. The first one is that there is an app called "CodeBox" that i have never downloaded or used that is available for an update on an account that I've never seen. The second is that I havnt been able to install software updates since I downloaded Mountain Lion. The notification for a software update pops up but the only update I can see is the CodeBox app.

Uninstall the CodeBox app using this free utility > Download AppCleaner for Mac - Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
re: the softwrae updates..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the trash.
Same:   ~/Library/Preferences/
Click Go the move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Same:   ~/Libray/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to to the Trash.
Try the App Store.. see if that made a difference..

Are you sure you have a 4g/3g iPod? If you don't have a camera, it's definitely not 4G. If it has no camera and is 8 or 16 Gb it is a 2G and can't go beyond 4.2.1.

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
Reboot
Reset
If it persists, do a restore

Updates for Apps need to be downloaded multiple times to work

I have iTunes 10.5.3 and when I download an update to an app, iTunes continues to show an update to that app as available.
The download progresses normally and is shown as done when complete. However, the app is still shown in iTunes as having an update available.
Usually if I re-download the update the app is updated and shown as done and will be synced OK, but sometimes I need to re-download the app 3 or 4 times to update.
I have only started experiencing this issue since updating to iTunes 10.5.3 and OSX 10.7.3. I have performed all the usual housekeeping routines such as reinstalling iTunes, repairing disk permissions, clearing caches etc.

I was just about to post on the same subject. I have the exact same thing happening in the last week.
Don't think it has anything to do with 10.7.3 as I've been on that for some time ( as a registered dev).
One of the annoying things for me was that one of the 'updates' was over 1Gb, asnd redownloading was a pain.
In some cases, If I delete the app, then re-download, the update notification goes away, but today with iGIZMO magazine that is not working.

Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

My ipod touch is telling me that the skype and twitter apps need updating. When I try to run them they fail. I have tried deleting the apps via itunes but it doesn't work and I have tried updating the apps via itunes and it says they are updated.

I have an iLife 11 disc that doesn't work very well so I tried creating a disk image of it with Disk Utility. It took two tries but finally got a disk image that I could use to install the iLife 11 applications. Give it a try.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

Mystery App Needs Updating??

I have an app in iTunes that needs updating and I have no idea which app it is? I always have 1 app showing up in the sidebar of iTunes that says it needs updating, how can I figure out which app it is? Can I reset the prefs or something? What to do???

What do you mean by 'refusing from the system', if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
For a credit card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is and if you are getting a 'declined' message then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If when trying to download you are getting a message about a 'problem with a previous purchase' then that implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase. If that is the case then you won't be able to download anything else (including app updates) until you've paid off what you owe : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If you aren't getting the 'problem with a previous purchase' message then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card's details and be able to download updates to your apps : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support

If you have any apps downloaded with the other AppleID, those apps
will ask for the other AppleID to update.
Downloads are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Delete the apps associated with the unwanted ID and download them
under your ID. You will have to purchase apps that are not free.
You cannot transfer apps from one Apple ID to another, not can you
merge 2 Apple IDs.
