Cant find instant message on my mac book pro

im running snowleopard on my mac book pro and i cant acess or find my instant messaging, no icon, and cant find it in finder or anywhere??? i bought it in 2011, its actually my sisters, my 2009 MBP works fine, any answers out there?

In answer to your second question, it wouldn't matter much on your sister's MBP, as Snow Leopard doesn't support iCloud for messaging (or for much of anything, though you can force a few things). Her iChat is limited to AIM instant messaging and such.
On your MBP, which according to your profile is running Lion (10.7.5), you also won't have access to iCloud messaging (iMessage) unless you installed the beta-test iMessages application and somehow kept it running. (I have heard it can no longer be installed and may no longer work at all. That's third-hand; I haven't tried it.) Your iChat will also be limited to AIM and such.
For those with iMessage-capable phones and computers, there is a choice to be made. Apple's apparent concept for iCloud would suggest that you would use a single iCloud account for all of the devices you individually own or use. (I do that; my wife does also, with her own ID.) That model works well when, for example, you want to receive all the same iMessages on all of your devices. Even if you don't, there are ways to keep them separate (e.g., use the phone number to send/receive iMessages on your iPhone while using an email address on the MBP).

I have managed some how to delete the i Photo soft ware from my Mac book pro and have not been able to replace this soft ware.
    Can eny one help.

If it's just lost off the Dock, then it's in the applications folder
I lost my Safari etc., on the Dock! "poof"
If it's not in the applicaitons folder then you can resinstall it by running the bundled software package on the 10.6 install disks.
If your on Lion, you can reinstall it via the MAS

  • Before i did the update for Lion I had a icon for find my iPhone. Now its gone how do I find that icon on my Mac book pro

Ok I am very unplease with this new Mac Book pro. i guess its not the computer but man when you get on any windows computer, they are all about the same and easy to use. i am having alot of problems trying to find things like where to burn a home made video. I call apple and they say to use imovie but guess what, you cant burn a disc there. i have done almost everthing i could and it seems this computer is going to cost me about 2000 bucks more by the time i finish buying the apps needed for me to use as a student. so most like i am going to return it before the 14 days. Please help.

Ok, I misunderstood. The Find My iPhone app is on your iPhone or iPad, not on your Mac. If it is not in iTunes under Apps, then try downloading it again. It is free.
iDVD has apparently been dropped with new Macs. It is rumored to still be available on the iLife DVDs, but I don't know how long that may last. I've never used anything else, so I don't know what to replace it with. I think Toast will burn a DVD, but I don't know if it will do all the design and menu things.

  • How can we shut off messaging on the Mac book pro?

I have just purchased a Mac Book Pro for one of my kids. We have iPads and iPhones etc in the household. With his new laptop the messaging feature means that whenever anyone face times or messages a different family member, he also gets that on his laptop. How can we prevent this?

Messages > Preferences > Accounts. Remove the Apple ID that he shares with your family.

  • Where do i find microsoft explorer 7 for mac book pro?

where can i download microsoft explorer 7 for Mac Book Pro 15'', (Intel)?

Internet Explorer (which I assume you are refering to) is no longer available for Mac, and won't work on recent Mac OS.
Latest version was Internet Explorerr 5 and was a PowerPC application, and therefore required Rosetta to work.
I'm afriad virtualisation or some sort of WinAPI translator is your only way. You can also always dual-boot your Mac with Windows via Boot camp.

  • HT3529 Is there any way to sync iMessages from an iPhone into the Messages on a Mac Book Pro?

Basically, for me to upgrade to an iPhone 5s, I'll have to trade in my iPhone 4s. The thing is, I'm pretty sentimental when it comes to certain text messages and I would really like to be able to save them all somewhere, somehow. Everything else is backed up to my laptop, so I'm not concerned about anything else on the phone; it's just not wanting to part with the text messages... It would be nice if there is a way to sync the rest of one's messages into the Messages app on the MacBook Pro. Is that possible?

If the photos were on the iphone when the last sync was performed, then you should be able to restore from backup.

  • Syncing Mail messages between 2 Mac book pros

What is the best way to keep 2 macbooks synced up identically, especially with mail messages.

With an IMAP account which is designed for access with an email client on multiple computers keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized automatically with the email client used on different computers.
As an example, a .Mac account can be accessed as a .Mac type account, IMAP or POP account with Mail or as an IMAP account or POP account with a different email client on a Mac or Windows PC.
A .Mac type account with Mail is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way.
I access my .Mac account as a .Mac type account with Mail on myu Mac and as an IMAP account with Outlook Express on my Dell laptop running Windows XP at work.
When checking the account with OE on my Windows PC at work, all server stored mailboxes are automatically synchronized and identical to all server stored mailboxes with the Mail.app on my Mac and the same in reverse.
You can also store Sent messages on the server with a .Mac type or IMAP account.

  • How do i down load the app find my phone on my mac book pro

    hi this is dave

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can only download Find my iPhone on the MacBook Pro to save it on iTunes, but not to use it in the Mac because a Mac can't run iOS applications.
To use the Find my iPhone app on the MacBook, go to http://www.icloud.com, log in with your Apple ID and select Find my iPhone
