Cant find my installed programs

any program i install, dissapears as soon as i shut down my system. how can i stop this? i dont have a single program right now. pls i need urgent help. tnks

Only if you decide to share with us your particular situation. Guild Wars should install and run like any other Game. Other than the Game Installer, Games don't need some other installer to make them work. Only someone who reads the instructions for the proper installation.

I cant find my Toshiba programs folder

A few months ago I purchased a Toshiba P755- S5174 laptop running Windows 7. There used to be a folder in my All Programs menu in the Start Menu titled Toshiba, in the folder there were several applications such as Web Cam, PC Health Monitor,Toshiba Service Station, Toshiba Service Utility, etc... Now that folder is no longer there and I cant find the programs that used to be in the folder. What can I do to restore the folder to the All Programs menu in the Start Meu?

There used to be a folder in my All Programs menu in the Start Menu titled Toshiba..
That whole Start-menu structure is a reflection of the folders and shortcuts in these two folders. To open them, paste the paths below into the Start/Search box.
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
The first folder is in use for the user logged in. The second, for all users.
If you have lost any of that structure, it may be in the Recycle Bin. Take a look. It's also possible it has been inadvertently moved (dragged in Windows EXplorer) elsewhere.
As CB says, the files themselves are no doubt still in place. It's only shortcuts that are usually affected.

Cant Find to install VirtualBox-Ose-Additions

Hi All
I have installed virtualbox-ose and virtualbox-ose-additions from packages and configured virtualbox etc ... and it runs just fine. But when i go to configure guest additions, i cant find where its been installed ...
I thought it was supposed to be here /usr/share/virtualbox/additions/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso But its not ...
Any suggestions please ?

it doesn't need to be there. just try to load the iso from vbox and you'll see that is working

Was in the middle of installing adobe master collection (Trial) and it froze. I restarted my machine but cant find the install file. I was using the assistant manager does this mean i need to download the whole thing again or is in in a cache memory folder? Some of the applications have installed and some are have not. What is the best way to clean this up?
The install file is not in the download folder.
Do I delete all the files and start again?
Is there a cache folder with a file i can click to continue the download?

I apologize for the delay in my response, I wanted to make sure I had done all my research before responding.
In doing my research and consulting with a few colleagues I've found a few interesting things in regards to the software for your printer with Windows 8.1. This printer's software for Windows 8.1 was released in October of 2012 when Windows 8 was in it's Beta phase (meaning it hadn't been fully released yet as they were still testing it). The driver's have not been updated since then (and most likely will not be updated). Most things for Windows 8 work fine on 8.1 but as you can see in this case, it doesn't want to work and I don't think it will. Essentially this is like trying to put a 1970's car engine in a 2010 car. It might work for a bit, but the chances of getting far are slim.
At this point I would recommend upgrading your printer. If you would like to stay with HP, you can call HP Tech Support for your area and inquire about the trade in and trade up program.
I apologize that I didn't come across this information sooner, but I hope this answers why you haven't been able to get things to work right. Thank you for working with me, and I hope you're having a good week!

my os is win 7 and my control pannel is only showing google chrome and microsoft . net framework 4 client and ms office enterprise.but i have installed many programs such as mozila,adobe reader,avast antivirus and so many others but they are not showing
in my control panel programs..but at present they are working properly they are opening i am not having trouble with that..but i want to uninstall some programs and not finding a way i used even c cleaner tools but of no use..i started system scan but of no

When you launch Control Panel\Programs and Features, aren't you able to find the installed programs there?
All programs icons stored under control panel\Programs and Feature are related with registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall (64 bit system)
If these keys are corrupted or you don't have enough permissions on these keys, then the program icons will not be displayed under Programs and Features.

No - the Download Assistant usually mounts the disc image - I don't recall actually seeing the desktop icon when I installed CS6 Design & Web Premium (may have been there).
The strange thing about this is that the download has to occur before the DA starts installing - and it's usually always placed in the Downloads folder unless the user has specified a different folder for downloads via the browser prefs... could that be the case?
OP - download EasyFind and search for .dmg - look for the 'kind' dmg. See if you can find the Master Collection dmg image this way (I had about 50 hits, but only about 35 were actually dmg disk images).
Good luck - I don't envy you having to download it again - maybe this way you can find it...

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

Sounds like a file association issue in Windows. Right click on the files of interest and select Open With>Choose Default Program and select the program you want used (be sure the "always use" box is checked. The Acrobat installation should not have done this change, but this is the process to make the change on each file type.

If it's saying it can't find the iTunes.msi or iTunes64.msi, we should try the following procedure.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
