Cant find previous itunes purchase on iPad

I tried to buy a movie on iTunes on my iPad, the response from the store was: "You have already purchased this movie, are you sure you want to buy it again?"
I buy lots of movies, I forgot about it. When I went to "Purchased" on mu iPad , it shows
all my movies EXCEPT the one I'm looking for. Apparently, I bought it in the past, where is it?

If I understand you correctly, I am having the same problem since updating to iOS5, or maybe it's because of iTunes 10.5, they both came so close together.
Here is the problem:
on iOS devices (both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2) running iOS5:
if I go to the App Store app and try to download past purchases via Purchased, the area is blank and says I have no purchases, both in the All and in the Not on this "iDevicename" sections.
Last night I bought some new apps, and those now appear in the Purchased area of App Store.
on the Computer (iMac) running SL OS10.6.8:
In iTunes 10.5 under Store > Purchased I can see the music, apps and iBooks I have purchased before the upgrade. That seems ok.
Not sure if it is relevant, but I am a MobileMe subscriber and have not yet authorized any devices to iCloud.
Also have not upgraded to Lion OS10.7 because of the Intuit Quicken issue.

Windows crashed....can I redownload previous itunes purchases?

My computer OS crashed this week and I lost nearly everything. I have lost my itunes library. Is there any way that I can redownload my previous itunes purchases?
I've looked in my account at the itunes store and haven't been able to find information on this topic.

The policy on lost songs is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download however they are not under any obligation to do so. The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.

How can I download previous iTunes purchases from older apple id after my Mac is associated with my current one?

I have 4 MacBooks running MtnLion, iPad3, iPhones 2,3gs,4,and 4s,Time Capsule, and Apple TV....

Almost all of my media is associated with gmail Apple ID. I want to retrieve my previous purchases, but don't need this Apple id aside from that.
All of my computers and devices are associated with [email protected] id (I've set automatic downloads on all devices for [email protected])
Now itunes will not let me download purchases I made on [email protected] for 60 days.....
I actually wiped my 15" Mac pro, installed MtnLion and set it up with the me@gmail Apple ID (both icloud and itunes) just to get my previous itunes purchases. I downloaded about half, and then got sidetracked. Now when I go into itunes on it and try to download the rest, it says this computer is associated wth another apple id and can't download for 60 days!!!
I tried deauthorizing, but to no end.

Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

Here is the answer: go to http://support.apple.com In the search box at the top left type in the number 304996 and hit enter. This will bring you to a page with 4 solutions. Click on solution number 1 and follow the instructions. This should fix it.

I'd start off your troubleshooting process by deleting and redownloading the songs:
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

My Apple TV keeps telling me it cant find my itunes account.

I have an Apple TV2 - initially it worked fine and I happily rented movies. However recently I have been having problems. Whenever I go to rent a movie to watch it tells me that it cant find my itunes account or I have entered the incorrect password. I haven't and have checked all the details are correct. My itunes account is fine as well. Please help!

I'm glad to see I'm not alone I rented a TV show yesterday from my Mac. I could get to it on my ATV2, but when I tried to play it just would spin and spin. Finally got the message had to log into Home Sharing. Then couldn't reach iTunes store. Basically could never authenticate my account.
Went to my Mac same problems. Tried my wife's with her account and it authenticated.
This morning knock on wood, it's all working, so far...
Would have been nice if there was a known problem for apple to post something. Either on Apple's support site, or better there should be a system notification area in the iTunes store.

Thank you for the question. AirPlay will only show in Control Center when there is a AirPlay capable device in range on the same Wi-Fi network. If both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and I see your iOS device is updated, try the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

Previous iTunes purchases

I've recently looked on my hard drive and the majority of the files that are on it is movies/shows purchased via iTunes and if I'd delete selected content but opt to keep the files when prompted to do so, deleting the files wouldn't really be any good. So the question was..if I deleted selected content and opted not to keep the files and empty the recycle bin would the previously purchased and now deleted content still be available for me to re-download at a later date via iTunes' purchased category in the iTunes store? Or once I'd delete the content and the files would I have to re-purchase the content?

I've crossed this bridge before and it looks like I'll have to cross it again.
I made my earliest purchases from iTunes using a (dot)Mac ID that I had when MobileMe was called (dot)Mac. I let my (dot)Mac subscription lapse for a year or two due to little use. When (dot)Mac was re-invented and renamed MobileMe, I renewed my subscription. Unfortunately, because I let my original subscription lapse for so long, I could not re-activate my original (dot)Mac e-mail addy. "No problem"' I thought. I simply accepted an e-mail addy with the new Me.com suffix.
I wanted to use a single ID and e-mail addy with all of my activities, so I made new iTunes purchases using the new Me.com ID. I asked Apple Customer Support if they could transfer my purchased music to my new Account. They said no due to legal technicalities with the accounting records that they submit to the content providers. Fortunately, my iTunes purchases that I made with my original (dot)Mac ID continued to work in iTunes.
Now that Apple is offering a syncing feature through iCloud, I already see that my music from disparate accounts won't collectively sync.

My Brother Committed Suicide 2 years ago, I was given his pc with his purchased iTunes music, however his pc was pretty much dead, I was able to retrieve the music but stupidly I mixed it with all the mp3's and aac music already on my hard drive.. In the new message composition window, right next to the Account box under the Subject field, there should be a little box with 3 horizontal lines and a down arrow. Click on it to find the Bcc: option.
You can also find the Bcc: option on the View menu.

HT201272 Cant download previous music purchases

Hi, I'm having problems dowloading certain previous music purchases. I can see the name of these songs in my library and even have a download cloud beside it, but cant access them. I bought a lot of music in the UK before moving to Australia, would that make a difference?

I've got all my music still on a PC at my parents home in the UK, next trip home i will put it onto a portable hard drive. I only took my music out on my Ipod at the time, but of course you cant retrieve music from there. Thanks for your help. It was annoying me i could see the names of the songs on my play list but couldn't access them.

Downloading previous iTunes purchases on iPhone

I have iOS 5.0.1 installed on my iPhone, and have set up iCloud.
In the app store I can re-download previous purchases (Updates - Purchased - Not on This iPhone), but I can't do the same in iTunes. Can anyone help?
