Cant find shared libraries

Help! I can't find my shared library! I have been trying to locate my shared library on my sisters netbook, but I can not find it! I am signed in, and it says HomeSharing is turned on for (insert my email address). I have a big library, and my sister has no music on her new netbook. We need to use my shared library so that she can listen to music. Help?

From the help: Looking for shared libraries.
"If your computer is connected to other computers over a local network (wired or wireless), you can look for music being shared by others on your network (in the same subnet)."
The important bit is the phrase "in the same subnet". The dorm will be in a different subnet because you have a router between them and you.
There is a chance it will work if you take the router out of the setup (but you'll have other issues)

    Does it still exist here?

You can copy & paste this in Finder > Go > Go To Folder... (Command+Shift+G)

  • Panda3d 1.6.2-3 binary programs can't find shared libraries

This was a bit of an issue for me, and I wanted to see if this was an issue for anyone else.
Initially after installing panda3d 1.6.2-3 I had issues running the binary programs it provided, in particular punzip. punzip would complain about not finding the required shared libraries (such as libpanda.so), and adding symbolic links to the libraries in /opt/panda3d/lib tended to solve these issues. Adding /opt/panda3d/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig solve this issue completely.
I checked the PKGBUILD and noticed that a profile file (panda3d.profile) is installed into /etc/profile.d as panda3d.sh which exports /opt/panda3d/bin and /opt/panda3d/lib to the PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH environmental variables, respectively. When I run `echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH ` I do get ':/opt/panda3d/lib' as the output so the path is getting exported correctly. However, I've confirmed that removing the /opt/panda3d/lib entry in /etc/ld.so.conf causes many (if not all) of the binary programs panda3d installs to loose track of their shared libraries even when /opt/panda3d/lib is clearly in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable.
Am I the only one experiencing these issues? I'd be interested to know why my system isn't working as intended Obviously if this is a common issue adding a line to the PKGBUILD to add the entry to /etc/ld.so.conf might be a good solution.

report this issue on bugtracker. seems to me that is a bug.

  • Can't find shared libraries

I do not have the option to look for shared libraries in the preferences under sharing.  How can I find my library on my other computer?

I don't have this option either!

  • Upgraded iTunes, cant access shared libraries anymore

I'm certain its the upgrade that did it because its the second time on the same machine. (had to do a time machine restore, and it stopped working before the restore, as well as applying the update after the restore.
The vista pc on my network can see my shared library, but I can't see the library on the vista pc.
    Ideas?

Weird. It was happening between "non equivalent" iTunes Library in the former versions of iTunes (with MacOS at least, in my case).
With the 8th version, I can now listen to my shared Leopard iTunes v. 8 Library on the PM G5 in my office, with my Panther v7 iTunes on my PB400 in the living-room.
Have you tried to suppress the account shared in iTunes Prefs/Port in Firewall and do another time with setting a new access/password ?

  • ITunes not finding shared libraries

Does anyone have any references for this?

We'll need a lot more detail about your setup and the exact problem before anyone can be of much assistance. If you are indeed running a Mac as your profile indicates, you'll probably want to start over in the iTunes for Mac area.
    Regards.

  • Cant find tag libraries from included pages

    Hello,
I have many jsp pages that reference a "header" jsp page. This "header" includes all the taglibs I want to use on every page.
How can I get workshop to notice them on the pages that include the header file, not just the header files themselves?
I am attaching screenshots of my environment so you can see the issue:

  • IPhoto Shared Library - Cant Find After Restore from Backup

Hello, I hope someone can help.  A couple of years ago I created a shared iPhoto library image (I believe it was a mounted image file) so that two (2) users on a single iMac could view/add files collectively.  I have been using the Time Machine backup since we purchased the iMac, and for years everything was fine.  Recently, the HD failed and we had to have Apple install a new one.  After successfully restoring all files/settings from the latest time machine backup, I noticed that the shared iPhoto library is no longer available.  iPhoto asks for the library location upon launch, but I cant find this file anywhere.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to bring this shared image file back, and remount it so that I can find my photos?
    Thanks for the help!

iLife requires 10.4.10, I believe. Have you updated back to that OS?

I just want to know where to find my shared libraries on the stupid new iTunes. The layout was fine before, but when they changed it, I can't seem to find them. The articles on Apple are a million years old, before the latest iTunes update, so they are no help. Thanks.

It's only 7 months old and it is still correct.
    ctrl B = Show sidebar.
    ctrl S = Show menu.

  • Firefox 5 or 6 served over NFS to UNIX clients has problem finding shared object libraries.

With versions of firefox 3 and below, I was able to serve the application from a NFS share to all client workstations. Now I can not find a version above 3 that will run from just the NFS share. They all need shared libraries local (instead of just using the shared libraries in the NFS share)

It is just on Solaris we have the issue and even with local installed libraries it still crashes alot. On Redhat it works fine with the libraries in the NFS share.

somehow lost access to my iTunes library.
What does iTunes have to do with this?   Also more specific information might be helpful.
What system and iPhoto versions are you running?
Where are you being asked to select a library?  What kind of library, iPhoto or iTunes?
What do you see when you first launch iPhoto?

I know this email is confusing and really hard to understand...perhaps now you will know how i've been feeling--lost and confused with all the mis-information, with a hit and miss phone, and out of time with all the 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs EACH wasted on this issue.
On top of all this, I can't even find out how to file a complaint with anyone higher up than Customer Service.
I hate to tell you this, but you didn't write an email. You wrote a discussion post on the Verizon Wireless Community forum which is a public peer to peer forum. Unfortunately since you didn't mark your post as a question, the VZW reps that roam this community won't ever see your post. Before you re-post it, don't. Duplicate posts get removed from the community.
I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. Second which Samsung Galaxy mini model did you purchase? The S3 mini or the S4 mini? Did you do any research prior to deciding on this device. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

  • Can't find "Look for shared libraries" in the Sharing pane of iTunes preferences. How can I find it?

I am trying to set up Home Sharing between my computer and my wife's. Sharing keeps disappearing from the side bar although Home Sharing is turned on for both computers. Using the Help tab it says to check the "Look for shared libraries" in the preferences/shared box. The problem is that "Look for shared libraries is not there to select. Any ideas how I can sort this out?

I'm having a similar issue even after the "Shared Libraries" box is checked in General preferences on iTunes...
On early verisons of iTunes i had no problem with sharing or remote access via iPad.  I really need to figure out how to get this working.
