Cant find song i bought

i bought a song from itunes...and now i cant find it on my library. i checked my purchase history and it shows up. but i cant find it on my library at all. All of my other purchases show up but the one song. any suggestions?

thanks for the help. i tried searching for it on my computer, but i still cant find it. When i first purchased it, the song showed up on my itunes library. but the next day when i got back on the song was gone. i tried to repurchase it but it wont let me. it wont give me the option to purchase it. i wonder if i complete the album with the song reappear maybe?

CAN NOT FIND SONG I BOUGHT FROM THE WIFI STORE!

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED AND THE SECOND TIME I'VE BOUGHT SOMEHTING OFF OF THE iTUNES WIFI STORE!!!! I JUST BOUGHT A SONG AND IT WAS ON THE IPOD. BUT AFTER I CONNECTED IT TO THE COMPUTER ITS GONE NOW!!!! ISNT IT SUPPOSE TO ADD THE SONG TO THE COMPUTER LIBRARY. NOT DELETE IT FROM BOTH!!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME!!!! AND THEY SENT ME A RECEIPT AND TOOK THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT!!! *** IS GOING ON HERE! THE SONG IS GONE!

Thank you francis for actually helping me, as opposed to rudely lecturing me like some other "now it alls" in this forum. I realized this problem was old. It has happened to me before (hence why i was kinda t'd off), but for some reason I just couldn't find out how to get that form. Thank you very much. Apple definitely needs to get on this. It's no only causing Apple's customers annoyances, but is just causing Apple more work period by having to give back credit and sift through claims. It is for sure a bug that annoys many people, and should not still be a problem if Apple was on top of the ipod touch's wifi store like they're suppose to be. But, thanks again for HELPING me.

Itunes "cant find song"

If I change the location of a song or group of songs in my Explorer (I often have to reorganize my music folder) the itunes will not play it, and give me the message that "...the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I end up having to find every song again every time I change it's folder in Explorer. Is there any way to fix this.

hMm me too!!! After iTunes updates my library, most of my songs have the error icon behind it. But, the songs are still in the same folder. And, my songs aren't bought from iTunes store.

Remote for ipad, cant find songs, but my iphone can, on the same network

have a very odd problem, and apple cant seem to help me, i´m using the app called remote, to control my itunes music, from both my iphones, ipod touch and the ipad, they all connect to the same itunes music library and i can control them just fine, and choose the music and which airplay unit i want to listen to.
so far so good
but on the ipad, if i do a search for BEE GEES, it shows the artist name BEE GEES, but when i press the artist name, to view the songs, it says no songs, and that i should buy some from itunes.
but when i do the exact same search from either the iphones or the ipod touch, the search then again shows BEE GEES and when i press the artist, it shows the songs that i have with that artist.
the strange thing is that if i search for a song name on the ipad, like NIGHT FEVER it see´s the artist as BEE GEES and i can play it, i just cant seem to do a search by ARTIST, then it returns with no songs????

i have talked to apple numerous times, but they cant offer me any explanation
i have tried to delete the app on the ipad, and reinstall it, but that didnt help, i have tried to hook up to another itunes directory, and that didnt help either?

I have exactly the same problem.
I made some short "tests" and it seems that if the "Album" field on the info of a song (ID3 tag) is empty, it doesn't appear on the search result of an artist (only on iPad's remote app).
So, if you fill the "album" field of a song (on the "get info" option) then it will be displayed on the list of songs of the particular artist that you have searched for, on the "remote app" on the iPad.
As a fast solution (mostly a stopgap) I would recommend that you will open iTunes on your computer and highlight all the songs that have empty the "album" field on the "get info" window (ID3 tag). Then right click and choose "get info". In the "Album" field, type a space or let's say the word "unknown" and click ok. Of course if you know the real name of the Album, you will fill that field with the right information.
After that, all the tracks should be displayed under every artist in the iPad's Remote app.
Apple should give a solution on that bug. It is strange that there is no such problem on iPhone's Remote application, but only on iPad's.

Cant find song on new computer...

I bought a new computer. Synced my ipod to the new itunes that I downloaded. Saw one of my songs did not sync up. Tried to buy the song angain and was unable to do so. How can I get this song again?

To use iCloud you must have at least Mac OS X 10.7.2...if you have that, then go to System Preferences and the iCloud icon will be on the left side under Internet and Network...click on the icon and setup iCloud as you want it to work on your MBP.

Remote for iPad cant find songs but iPhone can

I have a Strange problem with airport Express and airtunes
From my iPad 4.2.1 running Remote app for iPad if i search for an artist, like Gary Moore, it shows the artist name, but when i Press the name it doesnt display the songs with this artist, it says no songs found.
But if i use the same app on both my iPhone 4 and my iPod touch, and do the same search and Press the artist name, it shows All the songs that i have with this artist
Both the iPad and the iPhone connects to the same airtunes library, on the same machine with iTunes 10.1?
Does anybody have any ideas of what is wrong
I have tried to reinstall the app on the iPad, but that diednt work, i have tried to delete the library on the iPad with no luck

In the absence of any replies, I'd forgotten that I'd posted here, but I did manage to sort out the problem eventually.
I forget all the steps involved, and possibly some which may be pertinent, but in essence somewhere in the iCloud signup procedure I'd clicked something that told Address Book to upload to the Cloud, and otherwise remain invisible on the Mac. Tinkering with the Address Book preference settings eventually restored the Contacts list to my iPhone.

I've purchased a song off itunes now itunes cant find the origianl file. Usually I just search for it in my file but now I can't find the music at all. How do I stop this from happening permenatly. I'm tired of searching for my songs in my files. HELP ME !!

Are you trying to use the phone in Bahrain with a supported carrier there? I suspect not. If you try to use this phone outside of Bahrain, you won't have FaceTime. This is done to prevent folks from simply crossing the border to purchase iPhones in Bahrain...FaceTime is banned in Saudi Arabia & the UAE. Sorry, but you'll only have FaceTime on that phone while using it in Bahrain on a supported carrier's network there.

I tried to set up a new library for my old ipod nano so i could update songs on it however when i tried to import songs from a cd it crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting to sync the new songs with ipod nano. now i cant find old library

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.

This is not true. You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

You get exclamation marks or dead tracks because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.
If you use an external drive, a change in drive letter is a common cause and you need to change it back.
AS a way of working out what has happened, right click on a track and select the summary tab (you will have to go past an error message). The summary tab will tell you where iTunes thinks the track is located. How does that compare with where the track actually is?
The xml library file is not used by iTunes, it is created to allow other programs to access the library. You can recreate the iTl file from the xml file, but there is no point if the location of the files is wrong.
There is a simple way of getting you music back in iTunes, but it loses all playlists counts and rating. To do this drag iTunes library.itl and iTunes Library.xml to your desktop. Then open iTunes and an empty library is created. Add you iTunes Media folder to it.
If you can't work out what went wrong and how to fix it, you may have to do this.

Two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates. Use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.
