well, im trying to find Imagine by John Lennon because im feelomg mellow. BUT i cant find the song on iTunes. i have tried searching for: Imagine, Lennon, John Lennon etc. WHY DOES ITUNES NOT HAVE THIS GREAT SONG!!!!???? all the searches come up with arw a load of wannabe bands ive never heard of. can u like check your database or summin because i really want the song and i want to knoow if you have it!

Well, if you didn't keep it in your iTunes library, on your computer, & then back that data up, you're out of luck if it's no longer available in the App store.
Apple warns to backup your purchases for this very reason.

The option to send reset info only appears if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account - if you've just added an address then it will be an alternate email address, a rescue email address can only be added by answering 2 of your questions. You will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use. Or you could use 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

Ive looked for 2 days, i cant find this swing component

im looking for the size of the rectangles used to draw parts of a JScrollBar.
ive tired get them through calculations based on the ratios of visable space in the JScrollPane...that dosent work.
today ive tried making the protected method getThumbBounds() in BasicScrollUI() public so that i could see the sweeeeet rectangle dimensions within, yet when i execute this code i get all zeros
//scroll is a JScrollPane
scroll.getVerticalScrollBar().setUI(new BasicScrollBarUI());

First of all, if you want to controll two scroll bars
at once, you don't need to know any of its dimensions.
You should read up on models, views, and controllers
in swing. i did read up on them and found no other way. maby someone could give more specifics on how else to do it? besides i allready have the code to do it,its only a few lines, i just need those values
Secondly, you can subclass the
MetalScrollBarUI and create methods which return the
size of the scroll buttons, the track, and the
thumb.great idea, but will this work for all look and feels? the more abstract ScrollBarUI does not seem to offer generic methods for getting the track value.
also if i cant find a way to do it for all L&Fs, where can i find the WindowsScrollBarUI class? id rather subclass that then the metal, but only as a last resort. thanks

Excel cant find this file when double clicking to open

Our Imacs 10.8.2 and 10.7.3 joined to windows 2008 domain cant open certain excel files from the network share. When double clicking the file or opening from excel -> file open it says it cant find the file. If I drag the file to the desktop then it will open when double clicked. I have tried disconnecting the network drive and reconnecting. I checked permissions and even tried a few cleaner products such as mac keeper and ccleaner and still the same issue. I even upgraded one of the macs from 10.6.8 to 10.7.3 and the issue persisted. Its very strange as some users can open but others cant. Any insight greatly appreciated.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

PC cant find ipod classic

I have a nano and an iphone4 which are both working perfectly but I just bought a 160GB classic which the PC just wont find. I plug it into any of the USB's and it says 'Connected' and 'Do not disconnect' but thats all it does.
I've tried just about all the troubleshooting "solutions" and as I write its in disc mode and connected but is still not found.
Please help before I go nuts!!!

I have similar problem...
After trying reset iPOD reset computer, reload itunes and iPOD SW to new and older versions, the conclusion (also from iPOD official serice) is that you have to connect to MAC (hopefully it will recognise the iPOD), do the restore to MAC-OS, go back to windows PC, and then the iPOD will be recognised, and you can have the restore again.
I did not yet try it, and I am waiting for confirmation of this approach, but I am almost sure this is the only solution at least for me.
By the way, I plan to do it tomorrow in a "workcenter", or a cibercafe with MAC computers.

i was looking for a particular song, i found several covers of the band, but not the original....
the album it is on, isnt in itunes...but the artist's other albums are on itunes
i'm assuming its some sort of copywriting issue or something
but is there a way to recommend a song/album/artist?

The song is actually titled "Flagpole Sitta" and was released on their first album, Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?, which isn't available on the iTunes Store nor on any download store that I can find. There may be licensing issues for download sales since the membership in the band has changed since that first album, or with Arena Rock, the record company that released that album.

In Itunes, I have started importing movies, and using iflicks to get metadata into the movies and all is well.
However, am I wrong to assume that the Genres that show in Itunes, dont show when viewing in Frontrow? I have also tried creating a movies playlist in Itunes, simple. But this doesnt sow in Frontrow anywhere, just a flat a-z list of the movies in itunes. This *****.
Is this right or am I missing something?
Will this be the same for an ATV if I get one of those, or should I stop my importing and find another way to present the movies on my telly.

Front Row doesn't have a genre category, and movies don't work in iTunes playlists in that app. You can create folders inside of ~/Movies with your genre names and place aliases towards the real movies there. It's kind of a pain to maintain if you are constantly adding movies like I am though.
Apple TV does respect genres and your metadata will probably read there fine.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Cant find Itunes playlists in Time Machine

I backed up my Itunes with Time Machine to a passport external hard drive. I am now trying to move my Itunes library to another computer. When I go into the files I see a file under applications called Itunes.app but when I dig into it I cant find my playlist, songs, apps, any of that stuff to transfer. There is immediately a file called contents, then in that is (codesignat, frameworks,MacOS,resources,coderesources,info.plst (a quicktime), pkginfo, version.plist (another quicktime). All I want to do is move my Itunes to this computer, thought it would be as easy as sliding it over but its not converting. When I try to combine the libraries its not finding a music or app file in these. Does anyone know where in Time machine this would be backed up or what Im doing wrong?
important note, Im using Macdrive to move from my mac files to a PC. My Mac is dead but I had done a complete time machine backup prior to it.

Data is not stored in the application. iTunes data is stored in /Users/username/Music/iTunes.
