Cant get a ring tone to ring

I cant hear a ringtone when someone phones me.
My phone just vibate's.
I have tryed the standerd ringtones i'v downloaded some and made some myself.
I have set the alme and that works with a standard ring tone I can hear that.
any help please

ITunes 7.4
The simplest DIY method involves just using iTunes and some free software. Apple quickly disabled this ultrasimple free ringtone method with the release of iTunes 7.4.1, but if you haven't yet upgraded to 7.4.1, this method will work.
Shortly after the release of iTunes 7.4 -- which came out last Wednesday, the day ringtones were announced -- users noticed that the main difference between ringtones and regular audio files were their file extensions. Regular AAC files have the file extension .m4a, while ringtones use the file extension .m4r.

Hi, I have iphone 4s and is up to date with ios7 but when I change my ring tone again ring the default ring tone
in the setting shows the ring tone i,ve chosen

I have been on chat and a telephone conversation with my internet provider SHAW.CA and they cannot seem to assit.
I do appreciate your replies. When you talk about Exchange Server, do you mean"Microsoft Exchange" because that is what I used to set up mail on iPhone? I also tried iCloud, but i did not like the way you have to choose sending  "from" each time you send an email. I currently use 2 accounts, one for business, one personal.
In response to your above reply; I went to "mailbox" - sycronise account", but nothing happened.
Am I missing some other setting perhaps. I did "enable mobile" on internet provider webmail.

  • How do i purchase ring tones or ringback tones for my phone

how do I purchase ring tones and ring back tones for my phone
how do I designate specific tones for specific people

You use a free app like Zedge for the ringtones or use an app like Ringtone Maker, both in Google Play Store and free or similar to snip the desired parts from songs on your phone from your own collection.  To assign to a contact, go to the address book and tap the contact, tap EDIT, and scroll down to assign a ringtone.  As far as ringbacks go....you have to buy those from Verizon either through the My Verizon app or from your My Verizon account page online.  Notice:  most people hate to hear other people's ringback tones plus, the volume is always too loud and the quality is horrible.

  • Cant get a ring tone when some one calls or a tone for mymessages

cant get a ring tone when people call same with my messages and i cant hear callers unless i pt it on speaker

I just reread your message and at first I thought you wanted to get ringtones. Now I think you meant you don't hear sounds unless you are on speakerphone. I would try a Restart to seeif it learns your issue. To Restart Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Because not all songs are licensed (by the label) to be used as a ringtone.

  • HT1349 I bought ring tones on mi ipad assuming they would "cloud" over to my phone, nope, so how do i get my ringtones to my phone now

I bought ring tones on my ipad cause i cant see the stuff on the phone, i thought it would transfer over to my phone, but no, so how do i get my purchased ring tones over from my ipad to my iphone........this stuff will just give me a heart attack one day, i am not a technical person to say the least

What do you mean you can't see stuff on your phone?
You can go into your iPhone, and click on iTunes, then the purchased tab and you can download the ringtones to your iPhone.
You can sync them to your iPhone from an iTunes sync on your computer.

    Sorry.  Your info is gone.
You chose to set up your iphone from your daughters backup.
The iphone is designed to be synced with your computer regularly.  You should have set up syncing from day one.
As you have failed to sync your information, it is gone.
    Very sorry.

  • I can't get my ring tones to sync to my new iPod touch 5.

I can't get my ring tones to sync to my new iPod touch 5. I see them in my tones folder, I've checked the "sync all" option and I've tried checking the individual tones and then sync. Each time iTunes says it has synced but the ring tones are not in the iPod.

Me too it has been all week and driving me crazy--- I've done everything I've seen on these websites to no avail--- does apple monitor these posts and offer any help????????

  • HT1491 I have downloaded a ring tone to my Itunes account on my laptop and it under "My Music" on my Itunes account...how can I get it onto my ohone as a ring tone?  I have an IPhone 4S?

I have an IPhone 4S and I downloaded a ring tone for it onto my lap top through ITunes.  When I "Sync" ITunes to my IPhone 4 S...the ring tone is transferred as music and I can't get it to be recognized as a ring tone.
How can I make this a ring tone for my phone?
    Ed Szygenda

You would have to create the ringtone.  Google will find several ways to do this.
You can only buy ready made ringtones from the ringtones asections of the itunes store on your iphone.

Make sure your own music files are saved in the proper folder (Digital sounds) whether in your memory card or the phone memory, the location should still be:
    Sound Clips > Digital Sounds.
If your songs/mp3s are saved anywhere else, it will not show up as a selectable ringing tone.
You can move your songs through File Manager on your phone if they are in the wrong location (Options > Move to folder).
Hope that clarifies it for you.

  • Can't get my ring tones back still

Why after the new iOS update I still cannot retrieve my ring tone it says that my device was not affected and I went from a 4s to a 6 and I still can't get them back

So after calling Apple support I was able to get my ring tones back but also found out that ring tones are a one time purchase and when you switch to a new device  your new device will not get your ringtones your will have to bye new ones a way to keep them is to transfer them is to your computer and then transfer them to your phone with the iOS update is if you had ring tones on the device you're using and with the new update it removed them then you can retrieve them back from iTunes.com/restore-tunes
I'm glad you got them back, and yes it's true that when you purchase ringtones, you need to sync your device with iTunes on your computer.  When you do that, you transfer purchases to your iTunes account, which means you'll NEVER lose ringtones you purchase.
However, if you don't transfer your purchased tones to iTunes, and you move to a new device, it is true that you will need to re-buy them.  The moral of the story is to always sync your device with iTunes, transferring all purchases to your account and you'll never lose anything you purchase.
