Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then tap Settings > General > Software Update
No data is lost due to a reset. -

Just updated to iphone 5 and cant Sync with Mac. Asking for OS 10.6 and cant find it. Current Mac OS X Version is 10.5.8. Is there any more downloads I need to do in order to sync new iphone 5? Thanks

When I set up Adobe reader on my computer to be able to download books from a library and then transfer to my Nook e-reader, I initially stating No authorization required using Adobe. When I try to change it so I can transfer downloaded books by my Nook e-reader it I get an error message stating the Adobe user name and password is associated with another computer. What gives?
This is pretty surprising and wierd that even Reader 10.1.1 is crashing on your system. It works pefectly for me.
Would it be possible for you to get the crash dump, and upload it, so that I can have a look at the same.
Download PROCDUMP from <http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx> and extract it to a folder, say, c:\temp\procdump.exe
Open cmd prompt and type "cd c:\temp".
Launch the browser and open the PDF.
Open task manager, sort processed by name. Two AcroRd32.exe instances should have been launched. Note the PID (a small integer like 5588) corresponding to the AcroRd32.exe with the higher memory usage; this is the process that must be crashing. Note this PID.
On the cmd window, type "procdump -e -ma 5588 c:\temp\01.dmp" (replace 5588 with the actual PID of the process noted in Step 4). Procdump will now wait for the aoolication to crash. If it throws a EULA, accept it.
Perform your steps to cause the crash.
Procdump will have created a dump file at "c:\temp\01.dmp". Zip it up (since it will be 100s of MBs otherwise) and share with me.

On Yahoo Mail...and ONLY Yahoo Mail..I get a 404 error after entering my user name and password. This doesn't happen with IE, just Firefox, and just Yahoo Mail. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FF; no change. Yahoo was absolutely no help whatsoever; can you solve the mystery? Thanks

thanks so much for your posts back. I really appreciate it and yes that does help to know that you could not get it working.
I did have some success, in removing the SSL Authentication checkbox in the smtp server settings - I found that this allowed my friend to be able to send mail from the mail app via his sbcglobal (yahoo) account.
So that did help but of course the messages do not have ssl encryption and I'm not sure how big a deal that is for an individual. He is able to receive mail but unless the SSL authentication box is unchecked, he cannot send.
i hope that helps anyone out there also!

Trying to get ricochet mechanics to work, need help!
Hey, for a project I'm doing, I'm making a ricochet game with Actionscript 2.0, where the player shoots a bullet and it bounces off objects trying to hit the opponent. It's working decently so far, but my problem is I'm having a VERY hard time getting it to work right. Sometimes when I shoot at a box, the bullet will tunnel through it, bouncing off of invisible walls on its way. I just want the bullet to bounce off of the edge all around, but it is tunneling as I'll show you in a video I uploaded. Here's the code I'm using currently, but it's having this tunneling problem.

You have a bit of a mess on your hands, but you can try doing this:
Download the iOS 6 update (ipsw) file to your computer from here: http://osxdaily.com/2012/09/19/ios-6-ipsw-direct-download-links/, being careful to download the version for your model.
Put your phone in DFU mode, as explained here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2648467?threadID=2648467&tstart=0
Restore you phone in iTunes using the ipsw file you downloaded in step 1, as described here: http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/23/how-to-use-ipsw-files/.
If you get a 1014, 1013, 1638 or 3194 error, you access to Apple's servers is being blocked by your Hosts file. You'll have to edit your Hosts file to remove this block, then try restoring again. You can use Google to find out how to do this. -
Why do I have to restart iTunes on my iMac to get Home Sharing to work again on my ATV2 and ATV3?
Last week I ordered two more Apple TVs 3rd generation. I have connected them to my network and the ATV2 that I had, seems to be working differently. I have to restart my iTunes on my iMac to get Home Sharing to work again. I go to Apple Support and reference this page (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2972) and it seems to be the only solution, reset iTunes.
I currently have all apple products from end to end. This doesn't seem to be working out as seamless as it should. Any suggestions?Until Apple gets off their butts to fix this, you can do this. Create a workflow that 1. Closes iTunes, 2. Pauses 10 seconds, 3. Opens iTunes. Then Save it as an Application.
Then...
Create an Apple Script by "recording yourself" launching your new workflow. Save that Apple Script.
Finally..
Go into Mail, and create a Rule that when you receive an email with the subject as "Restart iTunes" it will run your Apple Script (wchich launches your workflow app).
Just send yourself an email from you chair!!! :-) Please reply if this works for you. It works GREAT for me on Mountain Lion!

I am part of a friends AT&T package for iPhone. 4s and we started having a problem when a message I sent to another friend ended up on his iPad and this other friend messages me and the person whose phone package I am on also got this message. The friend whose phone I am linked to has sent messages to himself that have come to me. I'm trying to add 10/60 days to a user defined date but get Jan 10, 1900
I'm creating a form that asks the user to input a date in a date time field (usually it will be the present date or close to it). The users will use the drop-down calendar date picker to choose the date.
This is what I have for the 10 day date field but the output is always January 10 1900. I assume it has to do with epoch but have no clue how to fix this

Thanks!I got it mostly working by messing with the date format in the script and display pattern plus data pattern in the object control panel.
It seems to be very touchy and different date formats don't seem to play well with each other. I am not getting EEEE, MMMM D,YYYY working.
I am getting MM/DD/YYY to work which is good but I would rather display the dates with the day if possible. If I use the EEEE,MMMM D,YYYY I still get the January 10 1900.
