Cant Get In Design Exported .FLA Background Transparent
I made a small document with In Design to use as a gallery navigation page for my website.
I put the document together without a background. When I export the file as .FLA and view it the background color is light gray.
I checked the transparent box on the export screen.
I have also tried applying my template from Dreamweaver to the exported file and I get my webpage look, but with a gray box behind the In Design content. I would like to have my wepage's background show beneath the In Design content.
What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to make the background of the In Design Content transparent?

ID generates an HTML holder for your swf, which effects the way it is displayed, and it sounds like you might need to change the window mode setting inside the html. Try changing 'wmode', 'window', to 'wmode', 'transparent', Here's a screen capture of the code which is at the bottom of the html:

What I am doing;
Editing an image in Fireworks CS4 with a transparent background, the image has a drop shadow.
Exporting as PNG32 to keep transparency.
In Flash CS4; importing image into Flash but with a black screen as cant seem to make it transparent.
I have in Flash gone into 'Window Mode' and selected 'Transparent Windowless' option.
When I have created a very simple appear and hide animation I then export my movie.
When inserted into my webpage all is well and when published it is fine when viewed in Internet Explorer and Firefox but for some reason not in Safari.
In Safari the black box appears in the background so the transparency isn't working
Can this be sorted or should I just hope that no one will view the site using Safari?

I am sure I have the code right as I have looked at a number of forums with this problem. I have inserted as an image the code just incase you have any words of wisdom, cant seem to cut and paste text on this thing!!!! ;-)
I don't use Photoshop I use Fireworks and what I am now doing is creating my images in FW the cut and pasting into Flash. After I have finished I ensure 'window mode' is set to 'transparent windowless', publish and then export the swf.
I then insert this into my webpage.
What is puzzling is that it works fine in Firefox but not Safari. As said earlier wish I hadn't recently downloaded Safari as I always thought if a page worked in Firefox it would work in all recent browsers.

Export and re-import in to project keeping background transparent.

I have had some joy and some no so joy... maybe I am doing something wrong..
I have been using a smoke emmitter and "flattened" this and re-imported back into project to save ram or to duplicate the layer (for more smoke) and also again save ram. But sometimes the new import has a transparent background layer sometimes it is black. (Always I set all the other layers to not viewable) I have tried using keying to get rid of the black. But possibly there is a setting to keep any export/import back into project background transparent, if in a group above the bottom one. I am using QT animation setting for exports. DVC PRO HD 1080p

Cheers for all this great help... invaluable for neubie..Set your background to transparent (press apple+J to open the window you need) as it may currently be set to "solid" and render the movie out using Animation, as this preset will support transparency. That should do it.

Export project with Transparent Background
I need to export a Motion project with no solid color background and then import the .MOV into FCP to layer on top of preexisting footage. In project properties I have the transparent checked, but it still exports with a black background. Anyone know of a solution for this?
I cannot get a choice to set the background as transparent. I click edit>project properties and then the background color only offers colors, transparent is never a choice. I have set the color to black and then moved the slider and I have exported it on 100% and 0% and I still get the same results. I am exporting as an lossless+alpha and under the options I have selected a quicktime movie as the Kind and Animation as the Compressor. I have tried every possible combination and cannot get the project to export with a transparent background and like I said when I go into project properties there is no option for a transparent background, only colors.

Export Movie with Transparent Background
I created a lower third from a PNG with a transparent background. I brought that into FCPX and animated it. Now I want to export it and create a movie with a transparent background so I can use the animated lower third in other projects. I can't seem to find a way to make the movie's background transparent. How do I do that?

Exporting title with transparent background
I'm using Premier Pro CS3 and want to export a title but have the background transparent. I'm sure there is a simple way to do this but don't know how. I'm trying to import this title file into another editor so I can see my underlying video but it's just black with the white title. I'm trying to prevent having to retype the rather lengthy title. I'm thinking this has something to do with alpha but I can't figure out how to make it work. Any help is appreciated.
In CS4, you can export a movie with an alpha channel that will allow you to superimpose that movie over background video in another application. I'm not positive that this is possible with CS3, but this thread at Creative Cow suggests that it's possible. Just put your title on track V1, with nothing in the background, and try the steps outlined there.
However, I'd like to suggest a potentially much easier solution: every editing application that I'm aware has some form of titling tool, though some may be more rudimentary than others. Assuming the editor that you're going to does have a titling tool, simply open up your original title in Premiere's titler, select the text (click in the text box so you're in edit mode, and then press Ctrl+A), copy the text (Ctrl+C) and then go to the other editor and create a new title there. Finally, press Ctrl+V to paste the text into the new title. You may have to a do a little formatting, but it'll save you retyping.
Also, if the other NLE you're going to is not on the same machine, just create a new text file and paste the text there. Save it, and move the text file to your destination computer, and then copy and paste the text into the titler.

Making the background transparent in export from cinema 4d to AE CC
I'm using Cinema 4D to create a 3d object and then import it into AE CC. When I import it in, the grey grid in the background is visible. I want to make the background transparent, so that all you can see is the object in AE. How can I do this?
This is not a matter of transparency. You are seeing what you are seeing because you are looking at the draft software rendering result.
Choose Standard (Final) from the Renderer menu in the Cineware effect. -

the trick is the following: it's a daily rewritten menu card, that's published in 2 directions:
1. we print it on preprinted cardbords (therefore we need no background in the pages document) (30 times every day)
2. we load it on the webserver, to make it available on the website and to send it out via newsletter. (technically i have a automator printplugin created which does the job of inserting the same backgroundimage as on the preprinted cards and then uploading it to the server)

And also i would like some help with IE9, it seems the header is displaying in blue instead of black on IE9 and 10.
My web site adrees is marcoalexwebdesign.site11.com .I already fixed the issue, it seems trhat in dreamweaver the fonts ttf , otf, etc must be in a folder named webfonts, and then dreamweaver connects the fonts stylesheet to the main stylesheeet with @inport.I had to unisntall the fonts from my windows and download them again and add tehm with dreamweaver add web fonts feature.

How can I keep logo background transparent when flattening for web?
Hi, I have a logo designed in Illustrator which I'm bringing into Photoshop to save it for the web. It comes into Photoshop with a transparent background, but when I save it for the web or flatten it, it gets a white background. Can you tell me how to keep the background transparent?
File > save for web (& devices). That will give you the best and smallest web-ready graphics. With save as you're embedding all kinds of info that doesn't need to be in the image. File size can bloat ten-fold quickly. Use save for web.

Been looking all over for this for sometime and I know it is possible as I did a comp years ago in AE 3, now I have AE 10.5.0.253.
When creating a new comp or even in an existing comp.
the background is set to black or some color.
I don't want that. I want a transparent, basically nothing in the background so when exported the export logo can go over the video.
Where is this button or procedurew to get rid of the black background?
I know in photoshop it's a layer you turn off or delete, but there is no background layer.You need to export using a format that supports transparency/ Alpha channels and set the rendering options accordingly. There will always be a fill color. It simply works that way. Read the help on that stuff. To enable transparency preview, simply hit the checkerboard button at the comp bottom.

I think that I have installed Adobe Air but I cant get any applications to run. When an application is started I get and Adobe AIR Liscence agreement window, to which I press agree, nothing then happens.

JRC Export to Text like Crystal Report Designer Export
We need to Export report to Text like Crystal Report Designer Export using JRC. Is this possible? I see export ReportExportFormat CSV, PDF and RTF only. These exports are working, But I need plain text that looks like Text export of Crystal Reports Designer. I see this working in RAS 2008. What I can do to get this with JRC. I am using Crystal Reports 2008 to design reports.

Does anyone know how to run an export in background mode for windows ?
Normally in unix I would simply nohup the expdp command.
Also what is the purpose of being able to reattach to a job in Data Pump - that in itself would suggest the export is already running as a background process - so what does this mean for the command prompt window where you launch expdp from ? Can you break out of this command prompt and the export will continue in the background ?
Also is there anyway to monitor how far your export has gone ? At the moment all I am looking at is the contents of dba_datapump_jobs which simply tells me if the job is still executing or not

Export does run in a background process. There are actually at least 3 processes running.
1. You have the client, which is where you run your expdp/impdp command.
2. You have the MCP processes which is a Data Pump process
3. You have a WORKER processes (or more if you use parallel) that are Data Pump processes.
I always use LINUX, but I think it works the same for Windows. Once you have the job running, you can type a CTL-C and you will get to an IMPDP> or EXPDP> prompt. This allows you to do other commands. One is to exit the client process. You can also stop the job or kill the job. Try it and type HELP at one of those prompts.
At this same prompt, you can type STATUS will will give you some idea on what is being worked on.
Some of the reasons you would want to attach to a job is
1. You previously exited and want to reattach to change something.
2. You left it running while you were in the office and now you are home and want to see the status. (you can have multiple clients attached to the same data pump job.
3. Your job stopped for some reason (power outage, failure, etc.) and you want to restart it.
