Cant get javac on my win98 computer

I've downloaded just about everything on this site by now, and I've read just about every help page. All I want is to be able to write some simple little java programs, and then save them and compile them using javac at the dos prompt and then run them using java at the dos prompt.
Can anyone help me please???

I haven't even got a file called javac anywhere on my computer. NO matter what I install, I haven't got the javac command. How and where do I get it from?

Cant get javac to run

new to programming, but not computers. have installed the JDK but javac will only give me a bad command message. I've permanantly set the path and other programs in the bin file will run with no error messages. I've rebooted and reinstalled and then wiped the folders and reinstalled again and still have the same problem. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

First, make sure you downloaded a JDK installation not a JRE installation.
JRE does not contains a javac command.
After install,
First try javac on the command line.
If you get bad command or file name, do the following to check,
cd C:\<your jdk directory>\bin
javac
If you get the javac usage message, then it is the PATH problem, not your JDK installation problem. You need to set your PATH correctly for javac to run on anywhere else.

Cant get bluetooth device to wake computer

Hi, i have winows xp on my macbook. Im using an external monitor with the laptop lid closed. So i was wondering if there was a way to wake the laptop up from hybernation by using my external keyboard and/or mouse. As at the moment i have to open the laptop lid and use the track pad untill it starts up and recognises the bluetooth devices again. I can get it to work flawlessly in OS X, just not in XP.
so can anyone help me an tell me how i can get my wireless bluetooth mouse to wake windows xp?

Same problem here. Mac OS has an option to wake on bluetooth devices, but windows doesn't seem to have such an option. There is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article about this:

that describes the solution as
"To resolve this issue, see the documentation that is included with your computer. Alternatively, contact your computer manufacturer for information about how to configure the BIOS. "
In other words, there would need to be a BIOS setting in boot camp that would allow the Bluetooth receiver to be active in the sleep state, just as there is in Mac OS. Maybe there is such a setting, but I haven't yet found it. I'll keep looking.

Cant get out of recovery and computer wont recognize pla

i currenly have the 30gb zen sleek photo. somehow the player is always launched into recovery mode and so i tried using the guides to help me through. it says to get new firmware, which i have tried. the only problem with this is when i plug my mp3 player into the usb hub it will not recognize it, saying for me to please connect it to the computer. i am stuck at this point and would love any help or suggestions.

If oje of these programs will not kick the iPod out of recovery mode you will have to restore via iTunes and thus erase the iPod.

I checked for updates in my itunes and it says i dont have any. So i have gone to the itunes website to try and redownload itunes which i believe it 11.7. When I try and download that version it tells me the software on my computer doesn't suppor that version. I try to update my software and it says there is not software updates available right now. Is there anyway I can get my iphone 5 to synce to my itunes?

In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Until Tuesday, the only thing you might try, if you already have and didn't state that you did, if this is the same outlet that you have used, and suddenly you lost power, try plugging your computer into another outlet and see if that works. If it works, either try another appliance in the outlet you are having trouble with, or check to see if a breaker has tripped.
If that doesn't work, well...you will just have tro wait until Tuesday.
