Cant get online when using password

hello i have a question about connecting with airport. for some reason i cant seem to connect at my friends house (where i do most of my work). He gave me the correct password and i can see the port so i know im not out of range. the strange thing is that when i go to an internet cafe that dosent require a password i have no problem getting online.
I tried it at another cafe that gave me their pass and it didnt work again.
seems that when i need a password even if i have the right one i get the internet bars but when i open firefox or safari it says im not connected to the internet. ("not associated with any network")
any ideas or setting i can try to change to get this thing online?

Sounds like there might be more than one issue here.
Are any of these you have trouble with a generic name like "linksys" or such?
At your friends house check the IPs and Server of one that is connected & yours that is having trouble...

I did the reset. I updated the iPhone to 6.0. The alert sound stopped for a while then started again. I had to go to notifications a few times to turn off some of the alerts and now I have peace, plus I learned more about the notifications. Thanks for your help. Try resetting the iPod by holding the Menu and Center button for about 10 seconds. You should see the screen shut off and come back on with the Apple logo. If that doesn't work you'll want to try to restore the iPod through iTunes.

Machine freezez/lock ups when using password protected certificates in IE 11 Windows 8.1 Pro

When using certificates that have a password enabled and private keys we find the machine hangs up competly with the memory usage jumping to 99%. The main process being the Local Secuirty Authority Process that causes the machine to lock up. The work
around we have is to remove this certificate and import a new certificate making sure we un-tick the check box for private key password.

Why does my dock get stuck when using full screen apps?

When using a full screen app like Safari, if I go back to my desktop and to the dock (which i keep minimized) it stays there when going back to the full screen app. I have to go back to the first page and hover over the dock to get it to go back. Not sure whats going on...

I may not have explained exactly...so basically when i go to the main desktop screen, and open a program or use the dock, it sometimes gets stuck in show mode. Then when i go back to the safari full screen app for instance, the dock stays up, with the latest program highlighted. In order to get the dock to go away, i need to go back to the desktop and hover over the dock again for it to hide.
I really hope someone else is experiencing this because its very annoying and I want apple to fix it quickly

Why do I get artifacts when using the adjustment brush to increase or decrease exposure?

When using the adjustment brush to darken a background I get white or light colored artifacts. When using the brush to lighten the eyes of a person I get brown artifacts that look like freckles in the area of adjustment. That didn't happen in LR 3.

New Mac Air's FaceTime HD webcam gets stuck when using Skype

Hi all,
I just bought new MacBook Air. I have a problem when I want to video chat with my friends or family on Skype using my FaceTime HD webcam. It gets stuck on a loop after a minute. If I reload it it works for a minute and then it happens again.
I am not using any other programs at the same time when using Skype such as iPhoto or Photo Booth.
I do not know if it is a software or hardware problem. Have anyone experienced the same or anyone knows how to fix it?

Hi Kip - I have been experiencing the same thing here.
Latest model Macbook Air 13", OSX 10.8.3, Skype 6.3.0.602
It works for the first time for a few minutes, then it will either freeze or do a continuous half second loop. turning video off then on will work for a minute or two, then it will go into the loop again.
I have searched the skype forums and found all sorts of weird suggestions to uninstall, re-install certain versions, delete stuff out off application folders etc, but nothing to reliably fix the issue.
