Cant Get Optimal Resolution with Lenovo L192 LCD Monitor after GeForce video driver upgrade

Hello,
I just upgraded my GeForce video drivers for the integrated GeForce 6100 video chipset in my Lenovo 3000 series desktop.  My monitor is a Lenovo L192 LCD.  It has been working fine but I decided to upgrade the video drivers.  After installation and reboot, I can no longer get the optimal resolution of 1440 x 900 for this monitor.  The highest resolution offered is 1360 x 768.  I had this same problem the last time I upgraded the video drivers but somehow I manged or someone told me how to get the higher resolution.  I reverted back to the old driver that was working fine and now I can't get the higher resolution with that driver either.  I think I have the latest driver provided by Lenovo for the monitor.
I am running Windows XP SP3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could you fix it or does anyone else have a solution?

  • Satellite P200D: How to get higher resolution with HDMI on external monitor

    Hi,
i have problem with my notebook P200D. I want to use my book with extern LCD in resolution 1680x1050.
In analog connection i have reached this resolution, but the quality of the output is bad.
I see some waves on the screen of LCD. And colors are little bit different.
Notebook has hdmi output too, so I have bought hdmi/dvi cabel, which is working, but i have reached only the resolution of 1200x1020.
Cabel is signgle link, it exists dual link cabel, but i am not sure if this sloves my problem. I have read that the hdmi output in the Toshiba notebooks is only single link.
So i cant reached higher resolution than 1200x1020... Is it true?

Vlada I do not know what you mean with bad picture but if you can use the right resolution the picture must be simply brilliant. I am afraid you can not set the right resolution (1680 x 1050) and because of that you are not happy with analog connection.
About HDMI usage I can just say that I have tried to connect Qosmio G30 to my HD Ready LCD TV. I have just switched to the TV using FN+F5 key combination, checked graphic card settings and set it to the center. The picture was perfect and I didnt change resolution.
It is very interesting theme and I hope someone else will post own experiences.
    Bye and good luck!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

If you are referring to Activation Lock, the password for the Apple ID signed into the device is required, there is no way around this.  If you do not have the information and cannot contact the previous owner, the device is useless.

hey i found an ipod and cant get to sync with itunes what do i do

If you mean that you have found "an iPod" - which is not yours, that is, you found it in the street, or in your office/school etc, then you should be handing the iPod into the relevant authority.
If you found it in the street, hand it in to the local police station.
If you found it at school, in your office, public library or similar, hand it in to the lost property office for that buiding/organisation.
After all, if you lost your iPod, wouldn't you ask at the police station etc. and hope that some kind person had handed it in?

  • Photoshop CS3 doesn't like "Lenovo ThinkPad LCD Monitor" color management profile

When launching Photoshop CS3 Extended, I get a warning:
The monitor profile "Lenovo ThinkPad LCD Monitor" appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software.
    [Ignore Profile] [Use Anyway]
If this can be confirmed, could it please be the target of a minor update/patch?
This recent T61p 15.4" WSXGA+ notbook's monitor is honestly pretty bad in terms of color accuracy. The overall sense is very blue; yellows show up orange. Is this normal? But that's really a side issue. I do most of my work on an external monitor anyway.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you very kindly, Erik; my searches hadn't found that. However, my T61p appears to already have that software -- not surprising as that was released in December and this notebook was built about a month ago.
I tried the instructions given, but Windows said my computer was already up-to-date. I suppose I could try uninstalling what the computer came with and reinstalling the download...
    [Edit 1]
Ah, wait... I retried it from the device manager instead of display properties -- here, I could be sure I was picking the proper "monitor" (the display properties showed only my external monitor). It did instal... said I had version 4.0 and v 4.1 has the "fix" according to the readme.
It wants me to reboot. I'll post again if somehow that didn't do it.

    [Edit 2]
Yes, indeed... Photoshop no longer complains. So, I wonder why this isn't in the software build or at least in the updates I've been faithfully downloading. But thanks again, Erik.

  • [SOLVED]XBMC Alsa Nvidia HDMI cant get dmix working with plughw:1,

With 2.6.34 i'm able to get audio through my Asus (Nvidia chipset) GF210.
The issue is that in order to get audio in XBMC, i have to specify a custom audio device as plughw:1,7 and that seems to disable dmix -- ergo, no more two sounds at once (so no crossfade during music playback).
this is the only card description that works; it basically tells XBMC to output to the raw hardware directly on card 1 device 7 skipping all layers of abstraction (including dmix).
this method is only recommended for applications that will do all their own mixing (think jackd).  so the behavior is to be expected.
some online docs say dmix will only work with the "default" device, others say it might work if i don't use the hw descriptor, but omitting the "hw" --> no sound at all.
the only other way i can get sound at all is to redefine pcm.!default as the plughw:1,7 device in /etc/asound.conf and then specify "default" in XBMC (this makes sense) but this still seems to mean no dmix.
obviously, resetting everything and using the normal VGA + Headphone-out mixes and crossfades just fine.
    So, does anyone know:
      * a way to get dmix going with a custom plughw card/device
      * a way to tell XBMC to do the mixing on its own before sending the sound to plughw -- is this possible?
any help appreciated, it's more of a want than a need right now.
up to date 64bit, stock 2.6.34.1-1 kernel, and xbmc 9.11-17 if that matters.

Getting dmix to run through a custom device is easy:
    pcm.dmixer {
    type dmix
    ipc_key 2048
    slave {
pcm "hw:1,7" # Always use pure hw. dmix will reformat/resample audio.
period_size 512 # If you get stuttering/or non-working audio, fiddle around with these
    buffer_size 4096
    rate 48000 # HDMI, I'll assume 48kHz
format S16_LE # Should be default for pretty much any soundcard.
    bindings {
    0 0
    1 1
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm dmixer
Using this approach, everything will pass through dmix, which passes to hw:1,7.

  • Lenovo L192 ThinkVision Monitor 6920-AB1 Windows 7 Drivers

Hello there. My first post ever. I pride myself on being able to nut out most problems on my own, but this one has me baffled... I'd really appreciate some advice.
So... I bought a Lenovo L192 monitor second hand, thinking that the maximum 1440x900 pixels would easily compensate for the loss of my ancient Dell monitor (nothing so permanent as a temporary fix, right?).
And it did. So long as I was running Linux. Then the maximum resolution worked a treat. Out of the box. No config required.
Then I needed Windows 7, so I installed it (a major personal achievement I won't go into) and activated successfully - so it's legit, 100%, Windows 7 Ultimate, single licence, single use, no problems there.
Now, when the Windows 7 installs, it gives me three options for screen resolution, two of which work, the other not. When I installed the Vista drivers it gives me the first two options, and I lose the third (which didn't work anyway, so no great loss). The problem being that the max resolution available to me is 1024x768 either way.
Now, before I lose you altogether, I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried searching (and upgrading every official driver along the way from) the ibm website, this lenovo website, support.lenovo.com, microsoft, ati (who do the video card), I have googled till the cows come home, everything, but I just cannot get the maximum resolution out of this monitor on Windows 7...
Is this an XGA limitation thing (and if so, how do I fix it)? Is this a driver thing? Is it a video card thing? Is it a Windows 7 thing? Have I wasted time and money barking up the wrong tree and it just downright isn't possible?!
I find it hard to believe that 'upgrading' my OS could give me less support for my monitor rather than more. Is this the case here?
    Thanks for reading this far,
    Phil.

according to the above, the graphics card is not supported in your windows 7, which is why you can't get a resolution above xga.
Maybe it is time to consider a graphics card upgrade in the server.

  • Problems with two new LCD monitors and my G5 Power Mac

I bought two of these Westinghouse Digital LCD monitors:
    http://www.macaddict.com/issues/2005/11/reviews/lcm
When I plugged in the first one, my Mac's power-on light was on, but the Power Mac G5 (1.6 ghz, 1.25 gb RAM) wouldn't boot and the light wouldn't go off. No problems once I unplugged the first LCD monitor. I plugged it into the second one and the Mac turned on once it was plugged in, but at least I had an image. But the computer was frozen; I unplugged and re-plugged it into the first LCD and had an image, but again, it was frozen.
Any ideas why this is happening? I'm going VGA into the DVI via Apple's adaptor.
    Help and thanks,
    Heath McKnight
Power Mac G5 1.6 ghz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Single processor, 1.25 gb RAM, 80 gb hard drive

Okay, well this is interesting. If I take the brightness down too much, I see "ghosting" on EVERYTHING, including text. Also, when I shut down the Mac with monitor 2 plugged in, the one that when I plug in the LCD it turns the Mac on, it restarts the computer. I did this twice to insure I wasn't just hitting restart by accident. I'm calling tech support Monday (Westinghouse) and I think I'm taking these "good on paper" 16x9 LCDs back to Best Buy for a full refund. Then, I'll buy something different. I'm bummed out...

  • How do i get the "open with" option back for pdfs after accidentally hitting the save option which now automatically saves any pdf?

Normally when I click on a pdf I would get an option to "Open With" or Save. I usually just opened pdfs first. I accidentally clicked on the Save option in this dialog box and now when I click on any pdf it automatically asks me where I want to save it. I want to get the "open With" option back, because I don't necessarily want to save a copy of every pdf.

Mountain Lion was released in 2012, so I suppose there might be advice in old threads or on the Apple forums if you don't get a response here right away.

  • How to get rid of trapped moisture inside LCD Monitor?, How to get rid of trapped moisture inside LCD Monitor?

I have a seven-year old Apple 21 inch LCD monitor? Within the last few months a large patch of moisture has developed inside the front glass. How can I remove the moisture?

Radtech claims that their screen cleaning cloth can remove light scratches from Apple Displays. They say it can remove "key-marks and scuffs". I have never tested the scratch removal myself, but you can read about it here.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 Vista 32bit video driver (NVidia) full screen video problem

Hi, would appreciate an update from Lenovo about this.
The NVidia VGA driver just displays a blank screen when playing video in full screen mode when hardware acceleration is turned on (the default setting). Obviously it's a pain to turn off the hardware acceleration just to get full screen video working.
There is a generic version of the driver available from Nvidia but they advise not to use it as the oem versions are apparently modified for features like turning the screen off when the lid is closed. Maybe someone's tried the generic NVidia driver and can let me know if it's worth a go. Ideally it would be nice to hear if Lenovo are aware of the problem and are going to release an update.
    Thanks
    Cliff
