Cant get out of website
Website wont close, "are you sure you want to leave this page" comes up. I click yes and it doesnt respond.
This is a new scam, the site is designed to ask that question incessantly until you give up.
Most users end up killing the browser in the Windows Task Manager. At that point, if you restart normally, Firefox will try to load your previous tabs and windows, bringing back the problem. It's frustrating.
I've heard of two workarounds to break the cycle:
# Disable JavaScript or
# Change the post-crash behavior to present a list of tabs instead of loading them all automatically

(1) In the new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''java''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''javascript.enabled''' preference to switch it from true to false.
This may or may not affect the already open tab, but when you kill Firefox and restart it, the scripts that prevent you from closing that tab should not be able to run. After closing it, you can go back into about:config and turn JavaScript back on.

I just upgraded my 3GS to IOS5, and now at work when i am connected to our WiFi I can no longer get out to the internet.
A little back story on how it worked prior to ios5:
I would connect via wireless, and then load Safari and type in a webpage I wanted to go to. A pop up box would come up, to authenticate me on our Web filter server (Running Smartfilter), I woudl enter my regular Active Directory username and Password and boom, i could then surf to my hearts content.
After the upgrade, I connect to the wireless, load Safari, type in the webpage i want to go to, and the progress bar moves abotu 3mm and then stops, I never get the smart filter prompt.
I have tried a full reset on the phone, forget network, reset all network settings, I even tried putting in the IP address of the smart filter box as a proxy and still it doesnt work. I have gone to smartfilters website to see if anyone else has posted there, or if there was a clue as to why it doesnt work, but nothing so far.
anyone else having this problem? any ideas?
If it wasnt broken, why would apple mess with it! a LOT of companies run smartfilter as well as other web filters. I thought apple was trying to seduce corporate customers, and so far a lot of poeple are dissapointed that they cant get to the internet.

my zen vision is completely useless!! it is not recognized by any computer, it wont get out of the recovery mode, i cant format because it says hardisk problem, i cant load?firmware because its not recognized by my computer. i am utterly disgusted by this. am i forced to throw this $250 equipment in the garbage. this is unbelievable. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING MODERATORS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN THEY DONT HELP?? i think my best bet is to switch to an IPOD. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASEEEEE HELP ME.
If you're needing an out of warranty repair, send an email via the email form under "Contact Us" and "Technical Assistance." State clearly you are out of warranty and have a failed hard dri've. Gi've them your product's name, model number, and serial number, and an advisor will reply back with a repair quote and instructions on how and where to ship your player.

I have a 30gb video ipod. when I try to recharge it, the apple appears very faintly, then it pops into SRV Diag Boot (Mar 01 2006), and no matter how I reset it, it always boots back to the screen, and my computer won't recognize it. I have tried using reset in manual menu, running auto test (no problems detected), running all manual menu tests (no problems detected), performing reset (menu+select). I've also tried to both resets when attached via USB, when plugged into power cord, and unplugged. I've tried it with green eggs and ham...I am desperate. It seems to happen mostly when power is low. In the past it has finally allowed me to reset it, but this time nothing is working. Help!

When you are stuck in Guided Access mode, you are really stuck as the typical triple tap on the home button to quit out of Guided Access doesn't work. Even a force quit won't work because the power button and the home button are disabled. The only way to get out of Guided Access is to press the Home and Power button together for 15 seconds. This will turn off Guided Access by forcibly rebooting your device. Once your device is restarted, you can then go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access > and turn off Guided Access if needed. I usually keep Guided Access off by default and turn it on only when I am handing my iOS device to my children. -

My mac froze and wouldnt startup because it was forced to sleep while a complex program was running, and simply ended up on a blank grey screen, and this happened upon every startup. so then i tried to use a safe boot but this ended me up on the startup utilities thing. i have realised that none of the options: restore from time machine backup, reinstall osx mountain lion, and repair disk are available to help me startup, and i cant select a startup disk either as it says none are available. so i am stuck on this program and it reapears every time i restart or shutdown and reboot, so i cant do anything. Please is there any way i could either quit startup utilities or get back to my computer desktop as i have lots of non-backed up image and video files that i cant afford to lose. please help!

Can anyone help me. I have just upgraded my computer. The package included the AMD 64 3000+ 2.0GHz,MSI K8T NEO-FSR, Corsair Value Select PC3200 DDR 512B and can be found at : http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=112188&cks=PRL. I have also purchased a radeon 9800 pro 128. I have plugged all neccesary wires and parts in, and whenever i start the computer up it comes up with message CMOS settings wrong. After this i have no idea what to input. It finds the hard drive and cd drives as well as the graphics card and floppy drives, but will not get passed the boot phase. If i change the settings and save them it just keeps booting and restarting, therefore i restart the pc and start again.

Thank youwhen i save the settings, the computer reboots, starts up, checks for gigabit etc where you can press tab or F10, then stops. I am starting to think it might actually be the hard drive. Tried it with my old maxtor one which is broken, and it loads up to the point where it goes to a lue screen saying windows/ hard disk broken, then next time it starts up asks me to load in safe mode, but all keys are stuck, this makes me wonder if the new hard drive is broken. Would the pc get as far a cmos and settings if the new hard disk was faulty.
Off to test it on a mates in a bit, see if mine is broken and if his hard disk will boot mine up.
Guess i am running out of things to try. If all fails will have take it somewhere
ps, i think it was after i put the ddr at 333, a new message came up when i turned it on, CMOS/GPNV settings wrong, or something similar to that.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
Cant get out of recovery and computer wont recognize pla
i currenly have the 30gb zen sleek photo. somehow the player is always launched into recovery mode and so i tried using the guides to help me through. it says to get new firmware, which i have tried. the only problem with this is when i plug my mp3 player into the usb hub it will not recognize it, saying for me to please connect it to the computer. i am stuck at this point and would love any help or suggestions.
If oje of these programs will not kick the iPod out of recovery mode you will have to restore via iTunes and thus erase the iPod.

Genieo does not play videos. It's an adware app. Sounds like you tried to download something from a shady site that redirected you to Genieo instead of to the (probably fake) app you were trying to download. You need to be more cautious about this sort of thing... where you download apps from is increasingly important these days! There are a lot of scams out there.
As for removal, Strawb268 has you covered... just please, please follow those instructions very carefully, in order, without skipping steps or skimming over anything! I've had a rash of people following those instructions incorrectly and bricking their computers lately. It's fixable, but a pain in the butt. -
Help!!! player froze - cant get out of recovery mod
my player just froze, so as usual i pressed the reset button, normally i dont have a problem with this.
However it entered "recovery mode" and none of the 4 options were any good. I tried the rebooting option several times, but still got the same menu.
So i pressed the reset button again, but now its frozen on the "Zen Touch" screen.
It's about 9 months old, why is it doing this? and how can i get it to work again? I'm thinking of sending it back for a replacement, but i dont think i have all of my music backed up, and wont be able to do so if it keeps freezing the way it is.
i only wanted to listen to some jamiroquai!!!

CANT GET OUT OF SAFE MODE, ZEN TO
hi all,?am having problems with my zen touch, firstly couldnt get the thing to load music,to which i re installed the old, then the?latest firmware for it to see if this would solve the problem. during the upload of the new firmware it said player was rebooting, which it was, but message never vanished fron the pc, and player rebooted in safemode saying it had firm ware problems, have tried to reload firmware via the pc but although pc recognise's that iys connected, when io try to upload new firmware now says player not connected!!!!!!
