Cant gift apps with money in account

Well i have 38.71$ in my account by use gift cards. I want to give my friend some apps but when i choose "Gift this apps", it tell me to enter cards or paypal. Since i have money in my account, why cant i use it as my payment method? Its really inconvenient if i cant use my money to give apps to my friend.

Sorry, but you cannot use a credit balance to purchase other gifts. Why that is the case Apple has never said. You must use a credit card or PayPal account.

Just to be clear, you have a US address on your iTunes account, you are buying from the US Apps Store and it is giving you a message that you cannot buy Apps with an iTunes Gift Card? (Not an Apple Gift Card, and iTunes Gift Card).

Sign into your account through the iTunes app and look for a None option in the Payment Method section.

Did you change your existing iTunes account or did you create a new account ? If you updated the existing account then you should be ok. But if you created a new account, then as apps are tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded them and they can't be copied or transferred to a different account, only that original account will be able to download any future updates to them or re-download them on a different device.

Why would you make a new account? This will likely cause many problems. Just get you old account enabled.

Everything you purchased with the old account will always be tied to that account. You will have to authorize the computer for that account and you will have to update the apps from that account.

Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.

If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.

Besides the ethical and professional issues involved, the iPad appears to be linked to a different iTunes account than your personal one. Applications are tied to the account, not the device - so if you were able to use your personal account to install the apps in question, you'd be wiping out all the ones your employer put on.
If you feel these apps are necessary for your work, then talk to your supervisor/tech department about them purchasing additional copies for use on the iPad.

Try going to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in. Then try downloading an app again.

IPhone sync apps with multiple iTunes accounts

I have a US iTunes account and a UK iTunes account because I am temporarily living in the UK. I am having a problem in which data associated with certain apps on my iPhone are periodically being deleted. When I update apps, I am sometimes required to login to the US store and sometimes the UK store. I think this depends on which store they were downloaded from but I don't know how to tell. I frequently get messages when I try to update that say I need to log into a different iTunes store to do the update. I am guessing that if I were to update apps that were obtained from the UK store while logged in to the US store, it might replace the app with a different version and in the process wipe the associated data. Is that possible? Is there a better way to deal with the situation so this does not happen?

Can I share apps with another user account on our mac even though its a different apple ID?

Husband and I have just bought a new Mac to share, but we've both got iphones and itunes of our own. I thought the best way to deal with this would be to have a user account each on the new Mac with our own iTunes, but this obviously means that each user account has a different apple ID associated with it. I've just bought Pages, Numbers and Keynote on my user account, is it going to be possible to share these apps with my husbands user account.
I've got a harrible feeling that I should have created a joint user account and apple ID, and I've just wasted the best part of £40...please tell me theres a way to fix this!!

You can, but you will have to update the applications from the user account with the Apple ID you used to purchase those apps. There isn't any other problem, but it may be illegal (but I think it's legal if you run them on the same Mac)

More than likely the app you are trying to download requires an iOS higher than iOS 4.2.1, which is the highest iOS you can put on the iPhone 3G. It is up to the developer regarding support for older iOS, and most have gone past iOS 4.2.1. The only alternative is the purchase of a new phone, or not use the app.

Publish Client App with My Adobe Account or Clients?

I have a client and they don't have an Adobe Account so they want me to publish their app with my personal Creative Cloud design account. Is this a bad idea. I'm thinking that the app will FOREVER have to be updated by my account because it will be tied to my ID. Is this correct? How should I advise them. My initial thought is that they should setup a CC account ASAP and use their own account. Unless they want ALL updates for LIFE to go through. That is fine with me because then I they will have no choice but to continue to use me to update their app and I'll have a client for a long time. Ha. But seriously. Need help on this topic. As long as your cleint upload the app using thier own Apple Developer account, you should be ok. Though you may build their first app using your CCM account, if the client decided to purchase their own CCM and built the app, they can move away from you and update the app whenever they have to

Update an Single edition app with different (pro) account

I have question regarding updating SE apps.
1. From what I understand you can still create single edition apps for ipads after May 1st with a pro account, correct?
2. If I create an app now, with my CC account, can I later, after May 1st, create a professional account under a different name (company name, not mine) and update my old app? (assuming that my apple account and certificates stays the same)

Purchase British apps with a US account?

I travel regularly between the US and the UK and often need apps for both countries. I currently have a US account but I don't seem to be able to purchase from the British iTunes site. Is there a way to purchase from both with the US account or should I establish another account in the UK?

To be able to buy/download content from the UK store whilst you are here you will need a UK billing address on your account. You can either update your existing account to have your UK billing address (you won't be able to change countries if you have a balance on your account, use iTunes Match, or have outstanding season passes), or create a new account with your UK billing address.
