Cant hear anything through speaker

hi all, my iphone wont play music/videos through the speaker??? it plays and you can watch videos but i cant hear anything unless i put the headset on

I answered you in your other identical post, but seeing as the iPhone isn't supported in Ireland I'm not sure how much help anyone here can give you with an unlocked phone...

I read on another discussion that sucking air out of the headphone slot works, I tried it and guess what, it worked.......weired....apparently something to do with moisture accumulation....!!!!!!

Cant hear anything HELP!

I have a 4G nano pod for the last 6 months but i did not use it for the last 3 months. Now I had trouble charging it - folder and exclamation point so i restored it back to its original factory settings. I later uploaded a playlist but I cant hear anything. I tested my ear phones and they are fine. What am I doing wrong?

I tried restoring my nano today and this is what happens - i cant figure out if its normal or not. 1) I run the latest update, hit restore and the apple logo with the progress bar appears 2)The restore process seems to have been completed. but instead of # After the restore is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time# i see a Do Not Disconnect sign although I am pretty sure I dont need to charge the nano again. I have done so for the past 3 days. This sign lingers on..........
What are my options?

You've given us little to go on , but have you spent some time looking at the Sound Panel within System Preferences and the preference settings for each program? I would assume that all of these combination of settings should be in the default mode, however, something may have become jumbled and reset to those original defaults.
If you have Applecare (doesn't everyone?), and continue to have a problem after further attempts to fix, give them a call and let them trouble shoot with you for a while. I do it all the time and it's actually fun and can also be a learning experience.

I am trying to use a presonus firebox to record with and I cannot get any sound to record to my computer nor hear anything through headphones I have recorded tons of stuff on Garageband no problem but I cannot get anything though Logic. SOmething I'm missing?

Connect your headphones/monitor speakers to your Firebox, or create an aggregate device in Audio/MIDI set up.

Hi Dan,
The the Connection Doctor from the Video menu in the menu bar says that the other end is sending Audio (Green bar) then you need to go to iChat > Preferences > Video Section and make sure you have chosen the right output device.
Also Check it matches the one in System Preferences > Sound > Output.

ok so i just got logic express 8 and im all excited to use it...except after i went through and set up my M-audio firewire solo interface with the core audio drivers in logic i cant hear a **** thing im doing
i just need like step by step help here, any at all would be appreciated
also i am trying to put the output to the headphone port on the back of my imac (i dont have monitors yet) is this possible? or do i need to get the monitors?
even when i use my m-audio keystation 61es i can see that logic is getting the signal and even records it but i never hear it in recording or even in playback!

Cant hear music through dock..new ipod, current model

Hi all, I cant hear any music through any dock I have in the house. Headphones is fine. I have four adaptors from old dock to new ipod and none work...what's going on...should I reset?

Since you already did all that stuff, I don't know what else you can do... I think there is a mechanical "switch" of some type inside he headphones jack that recognizes when you have something plugged in. It may be "stuck" in the position when headphones are plugged in, so the iPod thinks there is something there when there is not. I heard that you can use something non-conductive, like a wooden toothpick, to dislodge it, but I've never had a need to do it myself.
OR, since all 7th gen nanos are still under warranty, and you know this is not an incompatibility issue because it worked before, maybe you should have it checked by an authorized tech for repair or replacement. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can take it to the store's Genius Bar. You can make a reservation at the store's web page
