hi guys, when playing music and making a call. the music mutes but the call cant be heard through the head phones.
i dont undestand wat ive done becuase it worked in the past. trid heaphones with remote control still no go...

Try inserting and removing the earbuds several times in a row.
If lint or any foreign material gets in the earbuds port (and it doesn't take much), this can be the result.

I am facing the same issue! I bought 5c few days back
and everything was fine till I updated the software 7.0.4!
Whenever am connected to wifi am unable to make a call and if someone tries
Calling me they get the message that my number is not
Reachable! When I go back to 3G the calls work perfectly!!
Please help me out since I use wifi more than my network.

Hi I have recently had a problem with my Iphone 5. When I make a call to someone I can hear them fine but they cant hear me unless I turn it to loud speaker then they can hear me, I can still talk to siri and on face time but not for a normal call. What would be making this happen ???

Resolve the issue
Follow these steps, testing after each.
Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (refer to the pictures below to find your device's microphones). Check for these:
Dirt or debris
A screen protector or case
When you're holding your phone next to your ear, make sure you don't block the microphone with your fingers or shoulder and make sure to speak into the microphone
Turn the iPhone off and then on.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.

You are probably pressing mute button and don't know it, look at Proximity sensor problem posts.
If this doesn't work, you can try to play around with the earphones more (i.e. plugging it in and unplugging it several times). Maybe it works.

Cant hear music through dock..new ipod, current model

Hi all, I cant hear any music through any dock I have in the house. Headphones is fine. I have four adaptors from old dock to new ipod and none work...what's going on...should I reset?

Since you already did all that stuff, I don't know what else you can do... I think there is a mechanical "switch" of some type inside he headphones jack that recognizes when you have something plugged in. It may be "stuck" in the position when headphones are plugged in, so the iPod thinks there is something there when there is not. I heard that you can use something non-conductive, like a wooden toothpick, to dislodge it, but I've never had a need to do it myself.
OR, since all 7th gen nanos are still under warranty, and you know this is not an incompatibility issue because it worked before, maybe you should have it checked by an authorized tech for repair or replacement. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can take it to the store's Genius Bar. You can make a reservation at the store's web page

hi all, my iphone wont play music/videos through the speaker??? it plays and you can watch videos but i cant hear anything unless i put the headset on

Cannot hear sound through headphones when running mainstage- Mackie 1220i interface

I am currently running Logic Studio with my MacBook Pro with a Mackie 1220i mixer/interface. I can hear the processed sound fine on the mic channel and the guitar channel when the headphones are plugged into the mixer but I get no sound when the headphones are plugged into the MacBook Pro. I am trying to set up a concert in Mainstage. Suggestions?

When making calls after answering, neither caller or myself can be heard to each other. This happens when making calls and reciving calls. The speaker button also shows as activated when in a call. IFf using Viber calls can be made. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I too am having this problem. I went into the Apple store for a faulty home button last week and they ended up giving me a new replacement phone. The new replacement phone looks good, and feels faster...but callers can't hear me on the line. I've done the restore, tried with and without the bumper, but no luck, so I'll be taking it back in tomorrow after work.
I did some research and there are a couple of other forums out there with a bunch of people in the same boat. Hopefully Apple is already working on identifying the problem.

I just got my new iphone 4s today and straight away theres a problem.... when i call someone or they call me the volume is very low even when I have it turned up high, the few calls I have recieved I have had to put them on loudspeaker to hear! Definitely not impressed :-S Any ideas?
