Cant hear caller/volume very low?

I just got my new iphone 4s today and straight away theres a problem.... when i call someone or they call me the volume is very low even when I have it turned up high, the few calls I have recieved I have had to put them on loudspeaker to hear! Definitely not impressed :-S Any ideas?

Have you removed the protective plastic film from over the earpiece speaker?

Make sure the plastic cover that was put on the front of the iPhone for shipping has been removed. Second, is it quiet only on speakerphone, on the headset, or when held up to your ear?

Call volume very low. blackberry, i want an answer!

It seems I am not the only Z10 owner that's very annoyed about the low call volume. And yes, my volume is turned right up. Yes, I have tried the treble, bass boost and still very quiet.
The phones lost its call volume since the last update. I'm running 10.2.1.2102.
There are many complaining about the same issue in various places on the net and no answer as to what's the issue from blackberry.
This issue is so severe that my 12 year ownership of blackberry's is about to end. Very poor support and I'm not surprised blackberry is struggling.
Personally, im leaving blackberry and heading to HTC unless this issue is acknowledged very very quickly.
This issue is historic and seems to go back neatly a year and blackberry have not addressed it.
Call volume is so low I have to literally move to somewhere quiet or ask the caller to raise their voice. Its pathetic.
So n lack berry, what's going on?

Bluetooth in call volume very low

Hi, I have a Z3c and I am extremely happy with the phone.
However, there are some small issues with call volumes over Bluetooth which are annoying. The volume for music, videos and apps is great over BT (I use crank the volume around 15 from max 35 on my car Stereo). However, for the Voice Call, even with the volume at Max, I cannot hear the other people on the call. This is really annoying and it is becoming a major drawback, since I am travelling a lot.
Is there any setting or fix that can be implemented? I have already tried 5-6 apps from Play Store without any result. The phone volume is at max in the call.

Call volume very low in ear piece since 7.0.6 update

Since the latest update 7.0.6 I can barely hear anything out of the call speaker (the speaker you hold against your ear when making a call). He loud speaker works just fine. All other sound seems normal except for during calls I can barely hear anything. During a call, speaker phone seems to be fine. This must be related to new patch. Anything know of any fixes or are we waiting on apple?

It sounds like you are being told that your voice is not clear but they sound fine to you. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue here, named:

Follow these steps, testing after each.
Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (refer to the pictures below to find your device's microphones). Check for these:
Dirt or debris
A screen protector or case
When you're holding your phone next to your ear, make sure you don't block the microphone with your fingers or shoulder and make sure to speak into the microphone
Turn the iPhone off and then on.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.
For further assistance, contact Apple Support.
If the issue persists and you need to make a call, try using headphones with an integrated microphone.

Incoming ring and text volume very low!

hi, have recently noticed that when i lower volume level for music,video,games,other media, it also reduces my ringtone and notification volume level too! (even though the slider bar level is on max for ringtones,notifications.) so if for e.g i lower video volume on youtube etc, it takes my incoming call and text volume down too! this never use to happen and only noticed when i saw led missed call,text, flashing.try your own z3c?

now check incoming call,text volume (very low on mine) so i have to reset music,video,games etc to max to hear incoming calls,texts but i dont want max volume for music,video,,,
b.t.w I'm still on kitkat 4.4.4 but as i said the volume levels could be individually adjusted since out of box.
now strange thing is my mate has the xperia sp and i checked his yesterday and he had same issue (jellybean) and because his volume level on video,games etc is low but max on ringtone,text he too misses calls and texts! (unless of course he sets max volume on the video,games). also using volume on side of phone has no effect either.
any ideas?

Does music play loudly ?.
The volume controls may be set to control media, during a call press the volume up button.

Iphone 5 volume on calls is very low

Loads of people are reporting low volume through the iPhone 5 handset (when holding up to the ear).
An no, there is no film over the speaker !!
When someone calls, the sound is muffled, sounds like a very low bit-rate call. All the volumes are up as high as they go, and i can take the call in a quiet room and it sounds the same (so not the noise-cancelling part).

Laptop Audio volume very low

Hi Experts,
I bought my Inspiron laptop in January and was hoping for good sound quality based on the advertised Waves MaxxAudio. However I find the laptop volume is very low and end up holding the speakers close to my ears when doing a skype call.
Is this an issue I need to take up with warranty support or are the speaker volumes expected to be this low?

Hello. Some of the models do have adequate volume and some have low volume, but it is a subjective thing and I don't know if anyone can say that your volume is normal or not without hearing it. Even then they would need to compare it with others of the same model. If you post your model name then maybe someone with that model will express an opinion.
If the volume is low only in Skype but okay when playing an audio file from the hard drive, then probably a Skype setting. Right click on the volume icon on the taskbar and click on "Open volume mixer" to see individual volume sliders for each device.
Also you could test by switching from the vendor's audio driver (varies by model but probably Realtek) to the Windows native audio driver. If the volume seems too low (when playing audio files) with both drivers then there could be a hardware problem.
1. Open the Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the Windows search box).
2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
3. Select to "Update Driver Software".
4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.
7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).
8. Click "Next".
9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver).
10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.
[To get back to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 1 and 6.]
Note that the above instructions are for models with a Realtek audio driver. If yours uses IDT or Conexant, look for those names in the Device Manager.

Iphone3G 3.0...volume very low

since the update the volume (when at it's highest) is very low.....so low, i cannot hear an incoming call....any help?

Has your iPhone got wet recently?
I ride a motorcycle and sometimes my iPhone gets wet in my pocket. A small drop of water in the bottom speaker silences the iPhone until it's well and truly dried out.
If your problem is purely related to the 3.0 OS and your phone has never got wet (even one droplet splashed on near the bottom speaker) then go to:
Settings > Sounds and slide the ringer to the top. After you've done that then hit your Home button and when it's back to the springboard adjust the volume to max using the volume rocker on the side of the phone.
If it still doesn't help (and the resets/restores above don't work) then give Apple a tinkle and see what they think - if it's a new device then swap it for a replacement as you might have a dodgy speaker. Is music also really low volume?

Iphone call volume too low

I recently bought a new Iphone 4 but have experienced a problem with very low call volume, I can not hear the other person on the line at all if there is any background noise. I have removed all packaging including the plastic film so this cannot be the problem as it has been in some cases. I was able to have a hour long phone call to begin with and everything worked well and after this the volume just dropped.
I have fiddled with the in-call volume buttons but it seems to make little difference.
Thanks for any help, I'm sure there is something really silly that I'm not doing to fix it.

Other places here sugest looking for an obstruction ... I had my cover screen replaced ... removed the film ... but didn't notice there was a tiny piece a few mm. still over the speaker ... removing it worked ...

Handset Volume very low problem

Hi,
Can anyone help me with my handset? When in speaker mode when making a call it is fantastic. But when in handset mode you can't hear a thing it is very low. I have tried setting the default volume to 100% and even installed a new OS. Can anyone help me please?

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button.
2. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
                Press the”Details” button. A sheet will drop down.
                Enter YouTube in the search box at the top right corner.
                Highlight the YouTube entries that shows up.
                Click the “Remove” button at the bottom, then “Done”.
3. Increase the volume.
