have just sent some music files to my phone and although phone shows them playing i hear no sound help please

Is the volume turned on?
Are there headphones connected? (BT or wired), the audio should come out of the headphones not the speakers
Are you sure the files contain sounds?

theres very little sound coming from my speaker when i play music and ringtone it was working fine last night also when its going straight to voicemail when people ring but then coming through as a missed call, then when i recive calls i can hear people bnut they cant hear me is anyone else having this problem with there iphone 4

I cant hear on the phone but they can hear me. Iphone 5.

i have an iphone 5, my warranty ran out last week!
When i make phone calls i cant hear the other side although they can hear me, i can hear people when it is connected to my handsfree (Bluetooth) in my car.. Urgently need this fixed i dont have the time or money to have to pay for it to be sent of and fixed..
Any ideas? i have reset, restarted, backed up. I am useless with technology please someone help?

To troubleshoot this issue with the iPhone receiver follow the steps below.
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Increase the volume during the call.
Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
Restart the iPhone.
Make sure your device is up to date.
If the issue is not resolved, contact Apple Support.

Cant hear music through dock..new ipod, current model

Hi all, I cant hear any music through any dock I have in the house. Headphones is fine. I have four adaptors from old dock to new ipod and none work...what's going on...should I reset?

Since you already did all that stuff, I don't know what else you can do... I think there is a mechanical "switch" of some type inside he headphones jack that recognizes when you have something plugged in. It may be "stuck" in the position when headphones are plugged in, so the iPod thinks there is something there when there is not. I heard that you can use something non-conductive, like a wooden toothpick, to dislodge it, but I've never had a need to do it myself.
OR, since all 7th gen nanos are still under warranty, and you know this is not an incompatibility issue because it worked before, maybe you should have it checked by an authorized tech for repair or replacement. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can take it to the store's Genius Bar. You can make a reservation at the store's web page

ive recently updated my phone and now when someone calls or i all some one the cant hear me but i can hear them if anyone could help that would be great ive already tried reseting the iphone and it failed to fix the problem

Why can it not be restored? Any additional details in that message?

You must have an iPhone 3GS then if its running 4.3.2
The iPhone 3G can only update to 4.2.1 iOS.
Reset the iPhone
Hold the top silver button and the home button (just below the display of the iPhone)
Do this at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see an Apple.
The iPhone then should take 1-3 minutes to restart and it should be fine

i get a message thats says this accessory is not made for the iphone and it asks me if i whant to turn on the airplane mode on to reducce audio interferance and then i cant hear the audio on the phone

The message to turn on Airplane mode comes up when the iPhone detects something attached to the dock connector, and doesn't detect it as being an accessory that is made to the "Works with iPhone" standards. It can also come up when the iPhone detects certain kinds of interference.
In your case if there is nothing attached to the dock connector, it could be debris such as pocket lint, moisture, corrosion, or the dock connector port on your iPhone has a defect.

TS1630 i cant hear music unless i have earphones in. when i unplug them i cant hear from iphone 4 speakers

it seems as if my iphone is detecting earphones when they are not plugged in. I could only hear music with earphones due to this problem.

You probably have debris in the earphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on it, and quickly inserting/removing your earphone multiple times to dislodge it.

When I try to play music or videos there´s no sound, even if I try to adjust with the buttons doesn't display any lines (the ones that show the volume). But If I plug the headphones it's normal again....

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. Ipod Itouch turns on but cant hear music from it??

Hey guys any help would be appreciated! Today, I was running on treadmill and it was working fine and then all of a sudden couldnt hear anything! I thought maybe headphones were busted, but I tried 2 different ones and it is ipod, it turns on and goes to song, but seems to have no music come out of it. I tried resetting it and turning it off and on with no luck; anybody know the solution? It may have got a little sweat on it, but I have ran with it for a year and never had this problem!

You could try downgrading... dl the FW somewhere (eg at www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ )
Shutdown IPod, Start iPod in DFU Mode (Press LOCK+HOME, when Apple Logo appears release LOCK button; when prompt of connecting to iTunes, do so and THEN release HOME)
Itunes will ask to restore, cancel, press SHIFT key, then the "restore"button in sync dialog and select the IPSW you dl'ed before.
NO RESPONSIBILITY if your HW gets damaged. I have to write this...

Dv6700: I cant hear music in the external sound when i connect speakers

My internal speakers works fine, but when i connect external speakers the sound dosent go and im still hearing with the internal... when i do a external check sound i hear the "bip" in my external speakers... All this start to happen after i upgrate my audio driver

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
