First have you set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps(dont use automatic)
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to NONE.
Restart iChat.

There may be a defect in the phone. As you bought it in the US the only place you can get it looked at is in the US.
When you say you bought it new, unlocked did you buy it directly from an Apple store? If you did not it was hacked to unlock it, which could also be your problem. Apple stores are the only place in the US that sells legitimately unlocked iPhones.

I too have major problems with Viber, the caller can hear my voice but I can't hear anything. Viber can ring, but I can't hear anything when I pick up. And If I make the call, there is no ringing shound either. If the other party picks up, it is absolute silence on my end but they can hear me.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, doing this over itunes, wifi and 3G. Tired using another iphone 5 with the same failures. Used another sim card and also the same result.
Software is all up to date. The iphone software is 6.1.3 and viber is 2.3.1.
I am at a total loss to understand or think of further solutions. Could someone please offer some assistance?? this has been going on for a week now.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

OK recently my cam on the Macbook has been turning on and off when i use it in places such as skype or whatever, sometimes the screenw ould flickr, and sometimes i would have to turn it on and off myself to get the cam from not turning green. Yes, but unless you are using external (Firewire) iSight, the microphone and camera are independent.
(1) If you are using your MacBook's built-in isight, use the troubleshooting suggestions Carolyn suggests to determine if your camera problem is limited to only one user or one application. For instance, if the problem ocurrs only when you use Skype in any user account you test, seek help by searching or posting at Skype Support

Unless you have compelling reason for NOT doing so, update to the latest version of Leopard as follows:
First, use Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Then download and apply the latest Combo Update.

End with another permissions repair immediately following
the system restart that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates
can sometimes correct problems like yours.

Is there a way to hear the voice to the speakers with a microphone plugged in the combo jack?

I have do frequent web conferencing with couple of people with me and one person on the other side. Each one of us takes turn to speak but we ALL need to hear what the other person on the other side is saying.
For better voice quality, it is best that the speaker at our end use a microphone but we all hear the voices of the remote person through the loud speakers or any external speaker
however, given that there is a combo jack in ThinkPad, as soon as I plug a microphone in, we are not able to hear the sound of the remote person through the laptop loudspeakers.
Is there any configuration or any software that could make this possible?

It's more of a hardware question than a Mac/PC/Audition question. Specialist sound interfaces (usually USB devices these days) have a feature called direct monitoring which lets you do exactly this. It's incredibly useful for all sorts of multitrack applications (including yours)--in fact, I'd call it essential for any serious audio work.
However, very few of the basic built in interfaces now included with computers allow this--they're more for playing games or watching films than serious recording.
I can't answer for the Mac specifically (still a PC person) but an external interface will solve your problem and improve your recording quality at the same time.

User troubleshooting is restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Since calling is a carrier function, you can check with them about your account. If all of that is good, then contact Apple or your Authorized Apple Service Provider to have the hardware checked.

Just guessing here, but dropping your phone is probably the reason your screen or backlight doesn't work.
Only solution I see is to take it to Apple and buy and out of warranty iphone 4.

I can not hear the voice when i call

i can not hear the voice when i call, its very poor quality sound i feel, i tried to control with the volume control buttons but still i am unable to increase volume, could you pls advise the solution??

You may try using a different headphone to isolate the issue. And test your headphone as well with a different device like an iPod or other device, if it works then it's with the phone, that may needs service

Can't hear the voices in a video

I edited a video in adobe premiere elements 9 and I used noise reduction and the transition "constant gain" on the audio. I then uploaded the video to youtube. On my Dell computer and on my ipad, I can hear peoples' voices in the video fine with or wihout headphones. However, I cannot hear the people speaking in the video on my iphone when the headphones are not plugged in (I can hear the sound on my iphone when the headphones are plugged in). Other videos work fine on my iphone, so I'm wondering if something went wrong when I was editing in premiere. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When I go to the window menu and select audio mixer, I get 0.0 at first. When I hit play, the greenish bar goes up and down as the people in the video speak, so the levels change constantly (sometimes -6, sometimes higher, sometimes less). I generally set the volume level at 0.0, but I raised the volume a bit and lowered it a bit at certain spots. The odd thing is that I can hear the voices on most devices, just not on an iphone with the headphones not plugged in. However, other videos work fine on the iphone without the headphone so that's why I don't think it's the device. Other video I've edited work fine on the iphone too, but maybe I made an odd editing mistake this time. I did use an external mic for the video, but I don't know if that should make any difference since I can hear the voices fine on the computer....
