  • I cant install itunes 10.7 on my windows 7 64 bit

i just bought iphone 4S and trying to install itunes 10.7. This is my first time installing itunes on my pc.
this error show up when i start to install it on my wondows 7 64 bit
then i pressed ok, it's rolling back then still installing till another message show up
then i clicked "ignore", it keeps installing then its showed up again then i clicked "ignore" again
when it finished installing, i cant open the itunes just but this error
i cant transfer contact, app, or music with another app like copytrans because it keeps asking for itunes.
is there any other way so that i can manage my iphone through pc without itunes at all?

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 8007054F, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • Having issues installing iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 7 (64 bit).

Issues installing iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 7 (64 bit). This install clobbered my previous version of iTunes. Error message is "service Apple Mobile Device failed to start". Cannot start the service manually even though I am the administrator of the machine. There is obviously some conflict that was recently introduced by a Windows update or in the Apple installation. I have tried removing iTunes and the AMDS (the Apple mobile device service) and reinstalling with the same error message.
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

    Hey there Marylin,
It sounds like you are unable to start iTunes due to this error message even after uninstalling the iTunes application and the Apple Mobile device. I would recommend uninstalling not just those 2 applications but iTunes and ALL its associated applications with the following article:

  • TS3212 I cannot install iTunes 10.6.3 on Windows 7 (64 bit). I redceive the following message - "The installation package could not be opened..." Tried opening in safe mode - no luck. Anybody have a solution?

I cannot install iTunes 10.6.3 on Windows7 (64 bit). I keep getting the following message: "The installation package could not be opened. I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Cannot install iTunes 12.1.1 on Windows 7 (64 bit)

Hello.  I've tried to do this about 10 times now and it's driving me crazy.  The new iTunes update installed first time and works fine on my laptop (Win 7 home premium, 32 bit) but it absolutely refuses to work on my desktop (Win 7 home premium, 64 bit, quad core, 8gb RAM, ample hard drive space).  I've been using iTunes for years and had no problems with the previous version.
The installation hangs 75% of the way through each attempt, with the message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device Service' failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services".  I then get 3 options of abort, retry and ignore.  If I retry it just keeps coming back to the same message.  If I ignore then the installation completes but I then get the message "iTunesHelper was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7".  Then, every time I restart my machine or try to launch iTunes I get the message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 193)".
Here's what I've tried, in various combinations:
ensured I have installed all windows updates
uninstalled all iTunes and related programmes in the order specified on the Apple support pages (via Control Panel and the executable file), restarted, removed all the associated folders and files (including all 32 and 64 bit versions) from the Program Files directory on my C drive (where the iTunes installation is located), verified that they are gone.
cleared cache and temporary internet files from my browser, emptied the recycle bin
    uninstalled QuickTime
installed the executable iTunes package via "Run as administrator"
tried the "Repair" option from both Control Panel and via the executable file
unpacked the Apple Mobile Device Service separately and installed separately
And nothing makes any difference to the result.  I can't help but think there that is some kind of incompatibility between the latest version of A.M.D.S. and the latest version of Windows 7 64 bit.  I'm not interested in whether it's Apple's or Microsoft's fault but I would like a solution, even if that solution is reinstalling an older version of iTunes.  I hope you can help.

A bit of repetition, mainly for the benefit of anyone else with the same issue. In your case the "for older video cards" version might be worth a try.
When cleaning folders you need to check both the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders, which you may well have done but didn't mention in the detail above.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Can't install iTunes 10.5 on my windows 7 64 bit laptop!!!!

I've been trying to install/update my itunes 10.4 to itunes 10.5 but every time I keep getting an error. I've tried reinstalling it, removing and or deactivating firewalls and anti virus software. running a system clean up, rebopoting my laptop, and removing everything apple from my HD and reinstalling it all back on and it still wont work. Anybody else have this problem? Here is the error message im getting.
Im running windows 7 64 bit, everything updated on the windows side

Are you using the 32 or 64 bit version of iTunes. Also, double check to ensure you are running an x64 version of Windows. If you are running 64-bit Windows and 64-bit iTunes, it should work, but try the 32-bit one. If you are running x64 Windows and 32-bit iTunes, again, it should work, but try the 64-bit. If you are running x86 (32-bit) Windows, you will need to run the 32-bit version of iTunes.

  • Unable to install Itunes 10.6.3 on windows 7 (64 bit)

    Hey everyone
I recently had itunes version 10...... installed on my laptop and had no issues with it. However a couple of days ago I wanted to sync my iphone 4s to my laptop and nothing was happening. So i tried to start the Apple Mobile Device Support manually within the 'Services' program and nothing happened. So I carried out the following tasks:
    - Uninstalled Itunes and all Apple software e.g. Quick time, Bonjour etc
    - Ensured all apple folders was deleted from the C:
    - Downloaded the itunes.exe from the apple website.
    - rebooted laptop
    - Proceeded to installed Itunes 10.6.3
This is where my issue begins! When it reaches about 95% of the installation the status is showing as 'Starting Services' and then after a minute the below error message appears:
'You have insufficient Privilages' and I have 3 options: Retry, Abort or Ignore
If i click on Retry the same message appears, if I click on Ignore the installation completes, Itunes works fine. However when i connect my iphone to my laptop it states that a software is not installed. Please reinstall Itunes again.
Having done a bit a research the 'missing' software is the Apple Mobile Device Support. Therefore I extracted the itunes64.exe so I can install the AMDS via itself. However when I do it it will get as far as near the end and then decide to roll back stating that it encountered a error and therefore its not installed.
I have tried all the following:
    - ensure that my account has admin rights
    - disabled my anti virus (which is AVG). I even uninstalled it just to be sure
    - tried to install a older version of itunes - it installs fine, but when i got to launch itunes the following error message appear - Itunes.dll is created by a newer version. Then nothing happens
    - I have ran disk checks and other various checks and all came back fine or fixed.
i have been on this for about 2 days now and have no idea what to do next, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Oh actually, just managed to get around it... Installed iTunes 10.5 and then used 'Apple Software Update' to update it 10.6.3
(Got the old version from here.. http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=7196?download - dont click the ads, should start download automatically)

  • Cant install itunes 12.1.1 on windows xp

i keep getting this message "itunes cant run cause of missing files, please reinstall itunes" and no matter how many times i try to repair it or remove it and reinstall it i get that message

    Hey Wizofdk,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issue opening iTunes on your Windows computer. The iTunes installation bundles a few applications that are required for iTunes to operate correctly. If one of these applications/services were uninstalled, that may be the cause of this issue. Let’s try completely removing iTunes and all of these related components from your computer, then reinstall iTunes from our website:

  • Can't Install iTunes 10.6.1 on Windows 7 64-Bit

I've tried repeatedly. The installation verifies, unpacks, and then installs to approximately 60% and then -- nothing. I can wait for twenty minutes and there's no further progress. Meanwhile, the entire system has slowed to a crawl and has become totally unresponsive. I finally have to kill the installation by rebooting the machine.
I've tried the installation both via Apple Software Update and from the download on the Apple site. As for hardware, I've got 4 GB of RAM, an Intel P8600 2.4 Ghz, and an NVIDIA Quadro 160M.
Any ideas? Am I being impatient? Does this installation "normally" take an inordinate amount of time? My UAC, by the way, is set to "Notify me only when programs try to make changes..."

Well, never mind. I figured I'd try one more time and it installed without a hitch.

It will work with Windows 7 32 bit.  On a 64 bit you will have to install Windows XP Mode.  You can download it from the Microsoft Website.  The XP Mode will run Windows XP in 32 bit.  Microsoft has easy instructions on the download.  One download at a time.  Install the first download then the second download.  You will have to copy your icon from all program and paste to the desktop if you are going to use it often.
