Cant Install Itunes -- Error says Quicktime has a Newer Version already installed? Whats up with that? I can only install Itunes as a Bundle with Quicktime--

I have read up on this error-- Nothing is working.. Now I have No Itunes,
I tried to UNINSTAL Quicktime- it wont let me from (Add/Remove) Programs-- Says there are some POLICIES in place that wont allow
me to *Install (Hello) Im Uninstalling-- And I am the Administrator--
I found the DELL Installed (Hidden) Administrator and tried to do it while logged in as it-- NO WAY- same error
So, I deleted the (2) (QTS) files in syswow64? Windows system folder for WIN7 64 bit
Rebooted
Still not able to Uninstall-- GRRR
I have no more ideas.. I saw a site or two that had a copy of ITUNES (Unbundled) for install- but it didnt look safe or authorized by Apple- so, I didnt do it
Besides.. I now dont have a good VER of Quicktime on board either-- without those QTS files--

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

iTunes will only import music from your phone that was purchased from the iTunes store. To transfer music from other sources you have to use 3rd party software, such as PhoneView.

Quicktime says I have a newer version already installed... Not!
I deleted quicktime and all it's library components because it wouldn't load. I downloaded a new version from apple.com and now it says I can't load it because I already have a newer version installed... But as I said, I deleted it and all it's shared components from library.
Any thoughts?

Try the installer again after removing the .pkg file. -
Can't update quicktime on windows xp. I have 7.3.1 and when I try to install 7.7.3 it says I have a newer version already installed??? Even uninstalling the older one, it still says the same thing. I haven't been able to update it since 2007.

Trouble opening a just created Pages file.....error message says I need a newer version of Pages......Apple Store says I have version 5.0.......opening an older Pages file it says I have version 4.3.......can not find any way to try another upgrade to 5.0........please help......
ThanksPersonally, I would not recommend deleting/removing the iWorks 09 folder for several reasons: one is that the new versions have had several functionalities removed and until you decide that you can work with the new one and do not miss any features the older version had, I would leave the old one in place. Personally, I will not be using the new versions.
The second reason is that you can accomplish what you want using a different approach: simply open a Get Info window of your document and choose which version of Pages you want this to open in - you can also stipulate that all docs like this are opened with whichever particular version.
FWIW: Once you have edited an old document in the new Pages version, you can no longer open it in the older version. However, you can still export it to the old version. -
I have been using itunes all day and then it wanted me to install a newer version. When I did it said I can't because it's missing mdsvr80 or something so i downloaded that now it has another error. How do I get itunes back the way it was or to work?

For some reason when I go to update my old itunes version (10.6.3) it wont let me get the new itunes11. Since I updated my pages to 5.01, I can't open documents created on my iPad today. It says you need a new version of pages to open document. (My computer says it is installed). Has any one encountered this?
Well, here's what I found out that works for me...
I had a Pages icon on my dock, and launching it brought up version 4.3. But I went to my Apps folder and found the new updated icon there and when I launced that it brought up version 5.01. So apparently the Apple update process left two versions launchable on my iMac. Weird...

I have "redemption" code, but get error saying it has already been redeemed. Can you please advise how I go about getting my software reinstalled? Are you able to try taking it back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? Cannot install quicktime due to newer version already installed
I'm in desperate need of help. I've been trying to install Itunes for the last 4 nights but QUICKTIME is messing it up. I keep getting the error that a newer version of QUICKTIME is already installed and the installation can't continue.
I've been scouring the internet for hours over several nights to find a solution without luck.
There is no entry in the Programs uninstaller for Quicktime.
I've scoured all my HDs for quicktime and removed all entries
I've run several reg cleaners and regedit to clean out any reference to Quicktime
I've used the 'how to uninstall quicktime' support page and used the MS install cleanup utility, cleaned out temp files, used JV Powertools to clean out Quicktime.
I've used both the standalone installer and the Itunes installer
I've tried using safemode to install but the installer doesn't work in safe mode
I've tried uninstalling several codecs in the chance that they are somehow effecting this
I'm at the end of my rope and both me and the internet appear to be out of ideas. Of course, I need to get Quicktime on to use Itunes and my Itouch.
I'm running a fully updated Vista install. Any suggestions would be appreciated.I am having the same problem. I am using Windows XP on an HP Media Center PC m7167c. I have tried everything to fix the issue. Nothing works. HEY APPLE, Can you please fix your QuickTime installer to override the "Newer Version Already Installed" message when there is no QuickTime installed. This problem has been going on for over a year. Some files in "DOCUMENTS" icon in dock won't open. Get msg saying "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." Already have Pages 4.1 installed. Same files will open ok from Finder/Pages App./selected file. Prob not noted until recently after sync'd with ipad2 (Pages) when I installed iOS5. Anyone-- please?!
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I have Pages version 2.1 for the i-pad. I have Pages on my Macbook, version 4.3. When I try to ipen a doc on my Mac it says I need a newer version to open this doc. There is no newer version. I need these docs in a bad way and cant get to them on the Mac. Any ideas?
IOS Pages 2.0 and 2.1 implement an entirely incompatible document format with Pages ’09 v4.3. It cannot open them, and you are then prompted to update to Pages v5+ which is compatible with your IOS Pages.
Unfortunately, updating to Pages v5+ is a bad thing, as it is a brand new application that has omitted over 90+ features from Pages ’09 v4.3. When you update to Pages v5+, it will move your old still functional version of the earlier Pages into /Applications/iWork. Aside from all the missing functionality, Pages v5+ will likely damage older documents that depend on specific Pages ’09 v4.3 features (including AppleScript and custom Templates).
Oh, by the way, the older and new Pages documents have the same filename extension (.pages) making document organization difficult without applying different tag colors to old and new documents.
We are recommending that users remain on their earlier Pages version. You may have to export documents from IOS Pages as Word .docx to avoid the OS X Pages update notice.
