  Solution
Install an updated version of Photoshop Lightroom 2 from the Adobe.com website.
In your web browser, navigate to www.adobe.com.
     Choose Download > Updates.
Choose Lightroom - Windows or Lightroom - Mac from the Find Product Updates pop-up menu, and click Go.
Select the most recent version of Lightroom that's listed in your language.
Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the update.

  • Cant install Lightroom after deleted it

I had to delete Lightroom and several other apps. the other day to get lots of diskspace very fast. I try to install Lightroom again but the installer stops saying "there is nothing to install" (translated from the Norwegian translation) There is no de-installer option on the cd-installer.
What do I do to install Lightroom again ?
In panic I have deleted all adobe software and the adobe folder in application support to see if that helps, but stille the same "There is nothing to install" from the installer. Maybe I will get the same problem when i I re-install the designer collection :/
    -- Erland

I had this problem on a desktop machine (a dual-processor G4/500MHz Power Mac, running Tiger 10.4.10). A Mac Book Pro 17" with Intel Core 2 Duo (2.33GHz) running Leopard 10.5 is running everything without a hitch, so far...
I had Lightroom 1.0 running perfectly on the desktop. Installed the 1.1 update and I began getting the "unacceptable" serial number message [big red X]. Spoke to tech support at Adobe and they suggested removing Lightroom, and re-installing from the distribution disk. I removed the app, and all prefs files, but not the receipt... Tech support did not mention removing the receipt, or any other Lightroom files (prefs or app support files...).
The install process kept telling me "there's nothing to install" when I tried repeatedly to install in the Applications Folder on the system startup disk.
I finally installed the application successfully, and updated to 1.2 successfully, by using the distribution disk and installing to a different internal drive within the same computer. I made an alias of the app, which is the only thing on this drive, and put the alias in the Applications folder of the startup disk.
It's an enormous mystery. I'd rather all my apps were in the main Applications folder, so I may try this again, but getting rid of all the receipt file(s) that I can find. Getting rid of the receipt file seems to be a key part (but not the only one, alas) to getting this peculiar problem resolved.
Lightroom has been no trouble in any other regard since the first beta release. I suspect that having had the beta on this Power Mac, which somehow left some remnant of code that the install routine finds and decides there's already a copy of the software on the target disk, is the essential problem, compounded by installing the first gold release (1.0) over the un-installed beta (that is, I un-installed it, according to Adobe instructions).
These applications are so large, and so spread out over parts of the hard drive, in terms of viable and needed components, it's amazing there aren't MORE problems of this sort, rather than fewer.
Also, finally, there seems to be some serial number bug that Adobe is aware of, but is not telling us very much about. There's a long entry in their knowledgebase about it on the company site, and a number of options to pursue with customer support, if you have serial number problems. I'm not a programmer, so I can't imagine what the problem is.
I do know that in 17 years (and more) of using Adobe products, these aren't the first problems, and they won't be the last.

  • L am really getting angry oing in circles with Adobe, l cant install lightroom 4

    as above

You can get angry all you want - without system information and a proper explanation of what seems to be the problem nobody can help you. YJust ranting about doesn't achieve anything and people can only operate on (technical) facts, not guesswork.

  • Is it possible to install Lightroom 2.0 onto a Mac Book Pro running 10.8.5?

I have a disc for LR 2.0 and I am trying to install it onto my Mac Book Pro running 10.8.5.   I have tried three times and the installation has failed with a message saying contact the manufacturer.
I have managed to install Lightroom 1.0 from disc and it opens but will not allow me to create a new catalogue.
Is this just a compatibility fail?

Try installing 2.7 from here: Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh   Historically, installing a download has often worked better than installing from CD.

  • How do i install lightroom on multiple macs

I have a macbook pro and a iMac desktop and i am trying to install lightroom on my iMac after it has already been installed on my macbook....so how do i do this

Your Lightroom License Key/ or Subscription to Creative Cloud can be installed on two computers Mac and or PC with to provision that only one is in use at any point in time.
If you have the License Key you just download and install then use the key to activate. The Subscription model has to be downloaded via the Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager.

    Oliver,
Are you getting activation errors? As Ned stated , it is easier to troubleshoot if we have the specific type of error and error detail that you are getting.
Here is some help on activation if this is the issue:

  • ???  I just installed Lightroom 5 from Amazon for my Mac with 10.10.1 software.  When I open it I get: "An error occurred when attempting to change modules".  It won't import photos and has no side panels under Library.  What should I do?

I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.
THat at was sufficient for me to buy direct from Adobe, hope you get it sorted.

  • Will Lightroom and Photoshop CC work with Indesign/Illustrator/etc from older versions of CS installed on my Mac?

if I subscribe to the Photo plan, will Lightroom and Photoshop CC output work with Indesign/Illustrator/etc from older versions of CS installed on my Mac?

I currently have premiere cs4 and cs5 installed and have had no problems. I have noted on the forums here that some people were reporting problems. So the only way to realy know is make the plunge. I'm running win 7 pro.
