Dear Adobe,
I am trying to Install my adobe creative suit and am getting an error with to many activation, who do I contact to release the activations so I can install again?
(The computers with the program were formatted without deactivate)

Use the sim tool that came with your phone or a safety pin and just insert it into the hole at the side of the sim tray and push it in and then pull it out. It is no more difficult than that and then just close it again.

Similar experience here but finally succeeded! Here's the summary
Decided to (finally) update MacBook from SL 10.6.8 to Lion (it can't run ML or Mavericks) so this week purchased from UK Apple store. Received redemption code from Apple via email after couple of days and successfully redeemed this in Apps Store.
Under Purchases in Apps Store clicked on "download" and nothing happened! Clicking on the app name "OS X Lion" gave the message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the UK Store". Contacted support but got no useful help there.....
Following day went back to Apps Store and tried again clicking Download - still nothing (apparently - see below) so started thinking upgrade unlikely and £14 wasted.
A little later noticed new icon in Dock and investigating it said downloading Lion - checked Activity Monitor and indeed my internet connection was being hammered. At a little over 4Gb got an error message saying download could not complete (needless to say not happy) and download icon disappeared!!
So with nothing to lose reclicked Download in Apps Store and again no obvious activity and this time no new download icon in Dock - decided to check Activity Monitor again (just in case) and again high level of download activity! Maybe, just maybe, I thought and after about 90 minutes the Lion install screen appeared!
Have now backed up the Installer and successfully installed 10.7.4
I can't offer any explanation why it finally worked - Apps Store still shows "Download" not "Installed" as I would expect and the item is "..still not available.."!

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

I can only think this is due to Hard Drive failure on my PC.
Initially reformate and re-install on same drive. But this drive Failed too.
I then replaced it with a New Drive and re-installed, but cannot get my programme running due to too many activations.

Too many activations

HI,
I'm getting the message "Too many activations" when trying to install Dreamweaver CS3.
It's a volume license key so you can't deactivate it from the other computer.
I've uninstalled from the other computer and it still says "Too many activations".
You can't call Adobe anymore about this product. They just want you to post in the forums.
So here I am......anyone from Adobe listening who can deactivate my previous installs?

HELP I cant install itunes 10.5 on Vista

My husband is going to kill me...I was trying to update iTunes so I could update my iPad and I kept getting the same error message, "The installer has insufficient priviledges to modify this file: C\programfile\apple software update\softwareupdate.resources\software update.tiff" So I stupidly uninstalled iTunes and now it won't reinstall - I get the same error message. I don't know what to do! I attempted to uninstall the Apple Software Update program as well but I kept getting error messages telling me I don't have permission... I'm about ready to panic.... Our computer has Vista running on it...

Hello Vista People! It has taken me an entire day to fix the problem that NOT A SINGLE POST clearly answered the issue of "cant install iTunes 10.5" on my vista machine. Or worse yet, the problem I was getting was a Windows Installer error. What I discovered was that there was a corrupted Apple Software Update program. When I did as so many have suggested, and uninstalled all the Apple products, and then reinstalled, and was unable to get a iTunes 10.5 to install. The key to notice if you have this problem is that when you look in the Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features, you will notice that Apple Software Update is showing, but there is no "publisher"....there is a file size, about 2.5 mb for me (yours could be different). And when you right clicked or 'selected' the program in the the "uninstall or change a program" mode in the Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features you would not get anything to do. You couldnt uninstall it. So after uninstalling and reinstalling repeatedly, I noticed that the Apple Software Update simply was not able to be 'changed'. So, I downloaded from Microsoft "Fixit" the program called: Microsoftfixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.run.exe found here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall I then ran this program and when asked how I wanted it to work, I selected the equivalent of "Let me" make the decisions, (Not the automatic fix) and then selected that I wanted to "Uninstall". When it finished running, it gave me a list of programs to 'uninstall' and I selected Apple Software Update. When it completed, I checked the Control Panel>Programs and Apple Software Update was gone. Once it was gone, I was able to install iTunes 10.5 without a problem, and better yet, I also noticed after the installation, in the Control Panel>Programs Apple Software Update was listed with a Publisher. Now everything works. I believe there is some issue with Vista corrupting the Apple Software Update software during the uninstall process and Windows Installer doesn't deal with it correctly. I hope at least one other person can benefit from this, because NOWHERE did anyone do, suggest or clearly advise on how this was to be done.

Had an MS Access database on a Drobo-FS that a few staff were sharing. Worked fine.
Set up a new Lion server mac mini and moved the database to that machine and set up SMB sharing. (server's running 10.7.2 Server).
Works fine for all afp and smb file-sharing uses *except* for those users who are accessing a Microsoft Access database sitting on a shared volume. Even if only one user is active, they get "Too Many Active Users" and the database won't open. I see this when using Access 2007 and/or Access 2010.
If I drag the access db file from the server to a local volume, it opens and runs fine.
Guessing it's an edge case for the new smb software in Lion.
Have reported this to Apple but no solution yet. If any one has a workaround (or clue), I'd love to hear it.

The problem is due to Lion not supporting byte level file locking on its implementation of SMB which is required by some older applications such as Excel 2003, Pastel accounting, Caseware and MS Access.. Upgrading the app sometimes fixes it as in Excel. If the latest release does not resolve it then the only way I have found to fix this is to disable SMB sharing in Lion and install a 3rd party SMB sharing stack. I tried Samba but could not get it to work properly even using SMBUp which takes a lot of pain out of the install. I eventually found an app from Thursby.com called Dave which works really well, unfortunately it does not integrate with OpenDir at this stage but you can create users in the local dir for use with Dave while continuing to use OD for other stuf. Ive asked their developers to consider adding LDAP support. If more people ask then they might do it. The big downside is that it is really expensive at over $100.
I've not tested Lion 10.7.3 update yet to see if it resolves the file locking problem. I plan to test this during the week.

IWork 08 Trial - cant install - damaged checksum

Hi.
anyone and idea how to work around this or draw Apple's attention?
I have tried to download iWork 08 Trial many times by a couple of different browsers, e.g. Safari, Firefox etc.
Each time I do, the install comes up with a "Invalid Checksum" message. I cant install. Cant use Pacifist etc. In Safari, the option NOT to open files automatically is unchecked.
I have seen other folks on the internet have the same problem, so it is just not me.

Funnily enough, when I try JUST the Keynote updater 2.0.2, I get the same error as well.
I am on 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.

Snlow Loepard - Cant Install (Yellow Exclamation) - Solution Found

Hello to all:
Like many other people are having problems installing Snow Leopard because it says something like "Cant install because this is a startup disk...blah..blah... and a yellow exclamation mark appears on your Hard Disk or Partition.
In my case I have a 320Gb HD with 3 Partitions. Partition 1 is my 200Gb Mac-OS bootable partition, my partition 2 is a backup I created of my Partition One in case it fails sometime in the future (40Gb Only), and my Partition 3 was a Windows OS Partition. BTW, my partition 1 had 120Gb Free Space and anyway wasn't unable to install Snow Leopard.
I tried Drive Genius 2, I tried Disk Utility (Repair Permissions, Repair Disk), and nothing Works.
What I did was I use Disk Utility running normally on your booted Mac-OS (Not a bootable DVD), and I repartition my Partition 1 from 200Gb to 180Gb. The process took like 5 minutes. You will not lose nothing it just repartition your HD. After that I ran Snow Leopard from the DVD and fixed the problem.
Now my Partition 1 doesn't has the yellow exclamation and was able to install Snow Leopard. After that you can again use Disk Utility and resize your partition back to your original size without any problems. Please let me know anyone who tried it and works successfully on your systems.

DaddyPayCheck, I agree totally. There are good reasons to use disk partitions, such as Boot camp, but using a separate partition to back up another partition on the same disk is a bad move, especially since disk drives are so cheap.
