Cant load any photos in to Elements 12

Help please. When I turn on Elements 12 (and for that matter Elements 5 also) I get an error message reading: Could not import clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered. I cannot open any photos. Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

If you didn't already do so, try uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components (not just iTunes and AMDS), then reinstall iTunes, as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925. Follow the article and uninstall them in the order indicated.

OP you need to be more specific. ARE you saying that they did not restore from your icloud backup? Or are you saying that they didn't show up under your photostream?
If its the 2nd one, because photos are only available to other devices in your photostream for 30 days. Beyond that, they only show on the original device. To get around this, you can, on the original device, share them all to a shared photostream, inviting only yourself to share the photostream and them you'll be able to access them on the new device. Fair warning, sharing them to the shared photostream can take some time so don't delete them till they all show up.

Alyssa, let me make a suggestion for posting, then we will tackle your problem. If you forget somethig when you post, you may go back & edit the post withing 30 minutes after posting by clicking on the "edit" icon. That way, you don't have to do a huge number of separate post like you have done & the person who is helping you doesn't get hammered with a separate e-mail each time you re-post.
Your import settings are fine, they are the settings that Apple suggests. From your posts, it sounds like you may have already restored your Nano trying to fix this problem I would like for you to restore your Nano one more time, but follow the instructions on the link below when you do your restore. Once the Nano has been restored back to factory settings, let's see if you can get some more music on to it.

HELP!! I cant put any photos in imovie6

I am a new user of imovie. I am trying to make a slide show for iweb. cant seem to put any pictures on imovie. i add picture then there is a red bar on the bottom of the picture in the timeline once the red bar continue all thay way through the picture it vanishes. Most of my pictures are shot in RAW format. but i cant even load a jpeg now

Hi mrmcdowe. I am new too but I may be able to help. The red line at the bottom of your photos when you transfer them is the application rendering the photos. Have you tried to play your project to see if the photo's are actually still there? Or change the time line so you can see them (pick the clock or the film strip on the bottom left hand corner to change it). I am thinking maybe you have a fade in transition that means you don't see the pics once rendered (although they should still appear in time line) OR you have them set to very small time in the time line that the photo disappears but the box it is in is still there. If that is the case, double click on the photo and change the timing.
I don't think I have explained myself very well. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will pop in soon!

Cant load any projects in RoboHelp 6

Hi,
I have downloaded a trial of RoboHelp 6, no projects will
load either the shipped ones or our X5 ones.
I have tried deleting the CPD file, still the same problem.
I have also tried deleting the .XPJ file, but then get
"Unable to create database, Check that the directory is not read
only"
I am logged on as an Administrator of this PC and have full
rights.
Anyone have any ideas?

Acrobat Elements should not cause permissions related errors
to occur. I do have a few questions that may help us narrow down
this issue:
1) What was the original error message when the project
failed to launch?
2) Where is this project stored?
3) If the project is not stored locally, can you reproduce
this behavior once you copy it locally?
4) Do you get this database error when attempting to delete
the .xpj, or when trying to rebuild the .xpj?
5) What are the exact NTFS permissions on the folder? I
understand that you said you have admin rights, but I want to
clarify these settings.
6) If it is on a network resource, what are the share
permissions on that directory?

Can't load any transitions in Premiere Elements 10

OK. I know this is a newbie question, but so be it.
Just installed my brand-new boxed version of Elements 10, Windows 7, 64-bit version, and I can't get any of the transitions to load. Get the perpetual hourglass symbol when I try to enter the transitions section from either the pulldown menu or the screen list. The entire section seems stuck. Am able to open all of the effects, titles, and themes, and find media clips. Just can't get any of the fades, dissolves, or other transitions to even show up on the screen, much less actually click and drag any of them into the timeline. Do I need to re-install of the entire prrogram?
I'm working on a high-definition World War II documentary and need this program to work. Have been waiting for months for the software to show up on local shelves.

Solved the problem, after three hours on the phone with Manush at Adobe Tech Support. Simply could not have solved the issue without his patient help. I can't sing his praises any louder. He was the best.
Turns out the problem was a conflict with the fingerprint authentification software on my new HP Pavilion dv7-4273 laptop, a feature I never use on my system. After literally hours of trial-and-error, going through all of the services and startup files, even changing the resolution of the display screen and downloading new video card drivers, we find found the solution.
The transitions section now opens and displays all of the options, just like it is supposed to.
Concerning your question, I wasn't having any problems loading or viewing my video files. The HD 1080, 30 fps files from my Canon 60D DSLR and my Panasonic AVCHD video camera (HMC-40) all loaded and played back without any stutters or dropped frames. I could put clips on the time line, add titles, add effects, and edit. I just couldn't get the entire transitions section to open, much less show me the various options.
Now all of those issues have beeen resolved.
So word of warning to anybody having similar problems with Elements 10: check for system conflicts with the fingerprint authentication software.

Rebuilt thumbnails in 6.06, now library empty, cant find any photos

Had about 20,000 photos in the library that were never well organized and after a requested thumbnail rebuild the entire thing is empty and cannot find a single photo on the drive. Have no recent backup, but scattered backups on DVD's over the years that would take days to sort through. Any way of easily re-locating the library? Nothing was trashed and hard drive space has not been reduced telling me they are still there somewhere but all searches for the photos have come up empty. Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
First off: Go to your Pictures Folder: In there is a folder called the iPhoto Library Folder, and within that you'll see a Folder called Originals. Therein should be rolls folders and inside those: your pics
To confirm: HD/Users/YOUR NAME/ Pictures/ iPhoto Library Folder/ Originals / Roll
Confirm that your pics are there.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same film rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the *Originals only* folder drag the individual rolls to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Ipad cant stream any video

Hi all, i have a problem with my ipad. i cant load any streaming video from youtube or dailymotion for example. loading icon is turning for minutes but no video can be played. any idea what's wrong with my ipad? Aperture no longer loads my photos.

Aperture 1.5.1 no longer imports my pictures from my camera card. When I plug in my card, all I get is gray squares where the photos should be (and used to be.) I tried deleting the whole program and reinstalling, but the same thing happens. This same program runs just fine on my desktop with the same OS.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

No, DLS. Here is my procedure:
I plug my USB card reader into the laptop, then insert my camera card. Aperture automatically opens, as it should. I import the photos directly from the camera card through Aperture. This used to work. Now, it loads only some of the photos, then stops, and other times it doesn't load any photos.
I tried deleting Aperture completely and reinstalling. Same program and camera card work fine on my other computer, a desktop iMac with the same OS.

Suddenly can't import any photos into iPhoto!

Suddenly and inexplicably, I cant import any photos into my iPhoto program. iPhoto has worked fine for years. Now, all of a sudden, no matter how I try to import them (either from my desktop, or from my digital camera), I get the error message: Couldn't create: /Volumes/name of external drive/iPhoto Library/2006/08/21/name of photo. When I click "OK" on the error message dialogue box, I then get the error message "Unreadable files: 1 The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)." I am reasonably certain that of the 250 or so J-Peg photos I'm presently trying to import, from 2 different cameras, ALL of them can't be corrupt.
First, I tried repairing my disk permissions on my G4. Then, I tried reinstalling iLife 5.0.2. Then I tried reinstalling the OSX 10.3.9 combo pack, and iPhoto 5.0.4. Then I tried again repairing my disk permissions with disk utility. All proved useless to solve the problem.
I also tried dragging my iPhoto preferences to the trash. But I found to my horror that this action completely obliterates all of my iPhoto albums and photo groupings. I did not attempt to import any new photos once I discovered this, as I was fearful doing so might render my loss of my albums permanent. So I retrieved my old preferences from the trash, thus saving my albums and groupings, but also keeping the original importing problem.
What can I do to fix this importing problem without obliterating my albums and groupings? Lots of work has gone into the grouping and categorizing of my albums and photos. Though it would be easy to reimport all of my photos, I would not want to begin to take the time to recreate all of my albums and groupings from scratch. Is there any way these groupings can be preserved? If not, there should be! It's idiotic to think that Apple might not consider all of the time the grouping of albums and songlists represents to the typical user of iPhoto or iTunes.

I've found a solution to this problem, thankfully. But it didn't come via rebuilding the iPhoto library.
I didn't want to to a manual rebuild of my original iPhoto library, since I was cautioned that it would involve losing my albums and all notations and filings I'd made concerning my photos. Before I first tinkered with the library, I made a backup copy of the original-defective library onto another external drive. Then I did one more complete "automatic rebuild" of the original/defective library, and found to my horror that the library wouldn't even open any more. It would send up an error message when I'd try to click on it's icon to open the library.
I went back to the backup copy of my iPhoto library (containing all of my albums, groupings, and etc.) and did what I hadn't thought to do in the first place: I simply attempted to import photos (my original difficulty) into this backup iPhoto library. It worked perfectly!!! All photos imported into this backed up copy as if it were the original. And now that I have trashed my "original" and totally defective former iPhoto library, this backup copy is now my new iPhoto library.
I guess whatever was wrong with the old library was shaken out just by making a backup copy. I'm afraid that's about as technical an explanation as I can offer. But maybe doing the same process will help another of you suffering from a similar problem with importing photos. Anyway, a hearty thanks to everyone who responded to this original query of mine. CANNOT SYNC ANY PHOTOS TO MY IPHONE

Hi I have recently upgraded my iphone 4 to the new iTunes 10 & 3.1 firmware for iphone & Im going crazy coz i cant sync any photos to my iphone 4 yet on the bar it shows that i have 3 .6gig on my iphone of photos BUTI havnt,Ive got 36 photos in the cameraroll on iphone .
Ive done a hard reboot on my iphone & ive also done a restore in iTunes but I still cant sync any photo's.Also at the end of the sync Im getting a pop-up box with a big red EXCLAMATION mark with a little itunes icon attached saying I couldnt sync becoz cannot find my IPHONE 4 file & also ive noticed a REVERT button above the sync button & I have no idea what that means.
The iphone was synching fine before I upgraded & when i did a restore ,i did a backup before then restored it to the backup,Can anyone help me workout what is wrong ? I would be so very greatful as im stuck as to what has happened & all was ok until i upgraded but now its not good at all.

What photos?
Photos synced to iphone from your computer are synced one way only. computer to iphone.
Photos taken with iphone are not part of the sync process. They should be imported regularly as you would with any digital camera
