Cant load Backup after Iphone was repaired.

Got a new IMEI.
If i want to load backup, it says Iphone cant be backupped because Iphone refuses access.

@roaminggnome: You're right. I should have been synching the two sets of contacts, but I got a new laptop about 6 months ago and screwed up the settings. Unfortunately I'm not eligible for a new iPhone until April, so I'm going to have to use a company Blackberry for a few months.

    Delete your most recent backup in iTunes (iTunes Preferences>Devices, click on the backup, click Delete Backup), if using a PC click Reset Sync History (also in Devices), then close iTunes, restart your device, connect your device again, open iTunes and try syncing again.

    I cannot imagine it being worth the hassle of purchasing AppleCare for such an inexpensive device.  AppleCare+ would not be applicable.  If you really want AppleCare for the ATV, it is $29 and must be purchased while the device is still under warranty.

    I removed my iMac from my device settings on my iCloud on accident. I had bought a new one for my office and moved this one to my home for my wife.
    Well, I set it up for her, did the migration from her old computer to her new computer. Worked like a charm, we sold her old computer.
    It's been about 6 months now. Our home computer has all of our pictures....  Time machine was not set up.
    A Few days ago I was using her computer and needed a password from my notes. I went to the notes on the computer and noticed that they were not syncing because we hadn't logged this home computer into my iCloud
    As soon as I logged in my icloud the screen went to a password request mode .. So I put in my password and the screen froze, then rebooted to install OS X,  time machine, disk utility....
    Then I got an email saying that my iMac was found and all data was erased....
    Apparently, I removed the wrong computer from my devices on iCloud. Thinking I was removing her old computer we sold, I removed this one..
    Is everything lost?
    All I care about is my pictures and I don't know what to do...
    The back up I found I tried to restore  but it got complicated when it told me I had to do a list of different steps bc the backup ..
    I don't want to do anything and possibly ruin a hidden back up somewhere.
    Called apple they said they didn't know why it what happened and said I had to reinstall.
    I tried reinstalling twice and it won't even reinstall now..
    I come home late from work and had no desire to get on the phone for hours so I came here..

    Regardless of why it happened, the fact is that you have tried repeatedly to write data to the drive. This will result in overwriting whatever data were on the drive making any sort of recovery impossible. But you can give it a try:
    General File Recovery
    If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
    The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

    Beyond this would be erasing the startup volume and reinstalling OS X:
    Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
          left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
            the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
          the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Iphone 5 doesn't load backup from iphone 4

    Yesterday I bought a new iphone 5. I have previously used an iphone 4 up to that point. Having owned many handsets in the past I went through the usual itunes 'backup' and 'restore from backup' that I have done many times before.
    This time however the sync didn't happen and I was told that my data was corrupt. I tried the sync a few times but always with the same result.
    I thern contacted Apple care who advised me to back up the '4' to icloud and then sync my '5' from the icloud backup of my '4'. This I duly did and I can report that all of my messages and settings were copied truthfully without problems. I then did a conventional sync with itunes to load all of my apps back on again with all of my data intact. This seems to be the way to go now, the cloud is here to stay.
    Sorry that this is not a question, but this may help others if they encounter this problem.

    I'm having this problem too, as of yesterday afternoon.  Had my phone for 2 weeks and no problem, then all of the sudden, no more info on apps.  I can still search and all then, I just can see info or download anything.  I did just setup iCloud on here - not sure if that had something to do with it.

  • Ip camera app no longer working after iphone was replaced

    my wife has an iphone 4s. She accidentally had it in her pocket and put those clothes in the wash machine and fried her phone. we used insurance to replace it and restore her data. 
    i have a foscam FI9826W running app version: 1.4.1.9 and system firmware version: 2.11.1.10 that we have setup as our baby monitor/camera.  i have two other ipads and my iphone 5 configured to access the ip camera over my local network via wifi.
    the apps i am using on all devices are baby monitor by tiny solutions & live cam pro.  both of these apps work on all IOS devices except for my wifes replacement iphone she just got.  Her previous iphone 4s that ended up in the washing machine worked perfectly fine with these apps before it got wet.  The specific problem we are having is my ip camera is a PTZ camera.  all IOS devices are able to PTZ the camera without problems except, yep you guessed it, My wife's new 4s.  we can connect to the camera, see & here everything just fine, the we cannot PTZ the camera.  i have deleted the camera config and re added it on both apps, result no luck. i deleted the apps and reinstalled them then added the camera config back but still no luck. i have restored the phone to factory defaults, and then downloaded those two apps, configured the camera but still no luck. 
    4s is running 7.1.2
    app versions:
    livecam pro 3.9.5
    baby monitor 2.8.4
    internal camera on http: using port 88
    it has a wired Ethernet connection to my home router
    home router is an airport extreme running version 7.6.4 upstairs. and a Unifi AP running version 2.4.5.2077 downstairs. Currently all my IOS devices are connected to the Unifi AP. i have removed her device and had it re associate to the wireless network but still no luck.
    At this point i am stumped. i personally think it is the replacement phone, but need some more evidence to back up my theory so we can call support to hopefully get it replaced again.

    I recently stopped by the apple store and have fixed my mail app! The problem as described to me was caused by a installing apps. Turns out that apps can mess with Mail setting in some way and perhaps due to a bad setting or a bad combination of settings my mail application stopped working. The way I fixed it was to do a restore to New Iphone which, unfortunately, wipes everything! But after syncing back up including re-installing all of my apps, mail works again! Of course, I lost all of my notes, various settings, and lots of other stuff. Turns out that a simple restore, since it backs up your phone beforehand (backing up bad settings at the same time) is not the silver bullet but a full restore to new iphone probably often is. Hope this helps others.

  • DVD now stuck in a continuous eject/load cycle after a genius "repair"

    The new Safari update seemed to have crashed the refurbished iMac aluminum 20" I bought. I took it to the Genius Bar and asked them to also check out the DVD drive because it didn't read 80% of the disks I had burned in the last week using a fairly new Macbook. I got it back last week, tried to insert a DVD in the drive, and noticed it was considerably hard to do so, as if the drive was installed a few mms below where it should me. The disk never came out.
    The computer now tried to eject the disk and then load it continuously. It will not read or register on my desktop.
    Aside from hauling it back to the Apple store, what else can anyone suggest?

    That sounds like the DVD drive is bad or out of line with the case, you need to take it back first thing and have them fix it correctly.

  • Cannot load backup (due to changed Apple ID/updated email address)

    I have followed the answer provided to Ross202 by Gail from Maine. Unfortunately I fear my problem may be larger.
    Objective
    Move iCloud-backed up data to new iPhone (old phone "drowned" over holidays)
    Context
    My original Apple ID was EmailOld. This email address (EmailOld) has been terminated. Unfortunately my iCloud / backup is linked to Apple ID EmailOld (so verifying this is not possible). My new AppleID is EmailNew, and this has been verified. I have tried changing my Apple profile to EmailOld, as suggested by Gail (without the verification email).
    Despite following Gail's steps, Apple could not backup my old account. Error message:
    "Cannot load backups. There was a problem loading your iCloud Backups. Try again, set up as a new iPhone, or restore from an iTunes backup.
    Options
    - Try again (*)
    - Set up as a new iPhone (**)
    - Restore from iTunes (***)"
    Troubleshooting steps
    (*) Try again repeats same issue.
    Apple ID EmailOld: "iCloud Sign in" --> Agree --> "It may take a few minutes to set up your Apple ID" --> Choose backup screen --> takes an age --> above message repeated
    AppleID EmailNew: (Update AppleID to EmailNew in My Apple ID) "iCloud Sign in" --> Agree --> "It may take a few minutes to set up your Apple ID" --> "Choose backup" screen, with options --> selection of backups --> but then I either 1) have to enter correct password corresponding with EmailOld (and EmailOld and current password don't match), or 2) get error message above
    (**) Set up as a new iPhone (using:
    (a) old Apple ID says --> "Could Not Sign In | There was a problem connecting to the server". I have reviewed and checked wifi connection, all in order here. I have tried using new account, same error message,
    (b) new Apple ID works. And this is hopeful - the device can detect I have about 10GB data stored on iCloud. However, I cannot agitate this sync from iCloud to my new device
    (***) I have logged in to iTunes with Apple ID EmailOld (it works - it even says 17 updates on my apps, however I can't agitate updates). I cannot get a sync going.
    My phone requests me to "Connect to iTunes", but I cannot do anything more than this. (I have unplugged and plugged my USB cable many times)
    I have also logged in to iTunes with Apple ID EmailNew (it works too). But, again, I cannot connect to iTunes
    Possible solutions
    Recognition of 10GB iCloud-backed up data on new device (despite the fact that old Apple ID doesn't match new Apple ID)
    Any help will be greatly appreciated! 5 hours and counting :/

    I would guess the fan is the cause of the noise. Suggest you take a look at it.
