  • Web Page hangs in Firefox when loading Google Analytics

About 1 month ago I noticed that Firefox hangs when loading websites while loading analytics. I know this because it shows analytics loading on the lower left side of the screen. I've read many posts around the net and I don't have a solution yet. Of course, if I hit refresh, the page reloads fine. I'm a developer and I'm noticing this issue with one of my sites. The site is super clean and I've double checked the code and everything looks ok. I'm trying to narrow down whether or not it's specific to Firefox or not. I'm not really noticing this issue in Chrome or IE. It wouldn't be a big deal, but my concern is that there may be visitors to the site that experience this and possibly leave. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, because I'm developing I'm constantly clearing my cache and temp files, etc. I'm noticing this hang issue at least 1 time daily. I've posted this issue on the google forums, but they are utterly useless. I'm pretty sure that google is run by a super computer with no actual humans on staff because I've yet to get anything but retarded responses from google groupies/moderators and no one else that has any sort of beneficial input. My bad if you're a google groupie... no offense.

  • Why firefox freezes every second momentarily while loading webpages?

Firefox freezes momentarily every second while loading pages and it is not smooth like other browsers out there..I'm facing this problem at home, office, etc with every stable/beta/developer versions!!! I've did all sort of troubleshooting procedures like reset, deinstall/reinstall, safe mode, etc. I'm facing this issue since the time i'm using this browser. Till now i'm with the hope that this issue will be cleared in the updated version!! But not!!
To be brief, Firefox is not smooth like other browsers! Try to give me a solution to fix this issue! Else pls give me a statement that firefox is not capable of loading pages smoothly like chrome, opera, etc.. I'll happily uninstall this and use other browsers!!

    Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Firefox 27.01 freezes on page load after reset

I am using Arch Linux and Firefox 27.01. Firefox complained that it took too long to start and recommended a reset. After resetting, it has become unusable. The start page loads, but if I go to a website, within 10 seconds, it becomes unresponsive completely. I've tried letting it unfreeze, but it just stays hanging.
I rebooted, tried deleting Firefox and mozilla-common and then rebooting and then reinstalling, and I tried safe mode, but it STILL freezes. Also, I tried installing Firefox 26 instead, but it also freezes in this manner. I didn't get any of these problems before I reset Firefox. I'm at a complete loss. I don't know what could possibly cause this problem. Maybe something with the profile?
I would use the automatic troubleshooter, but I can reach this page in time, but I cannot login without it freezing. This makes Firefox completely unusable. (I don't want to switch to chrome) Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi jcbahr,
First of all, I am sorry that it became unusable. And second, are you talking about that turtle pop up on the bottom of the screen? That should point to the article on how to make it faster. When you reset Firefox, data is sent to an Old Profile folder and it automatically added back as well.
Since it still freezes in Safe Mode, it ideally is not an add on. However this doe not eliminate extensions or other preferences. It does restore preferences to the default one though. So we have another troubleshooting article that has worked for others [http://mzl.la/MP6ZBS]
I hope that is all new information, and let us know if it helps!

  • Hi! I need to load a GET url that si very long. On other browsers, I can load the url. In firefox 3.6, no. There is an addons or a plugin so I can extend this limit? If yes, is possible to load automatically this addons when loading a certain page? thanks

    Hi!
I need to load a GET url that si very long. On other browsers, I can load the url. In firefox 3.6, no.
There is an addons or a plugin so I can extend this limit? If yes, is possible to load automatically this addons when loading a certain page? thanks
The url is sometingh like this (this is correctly loaded, but it could be longer)

Firefox should have problems with long GET data appended to an URL (long would be over 64k).<br />
If there are problems then it is possible that an extension is the cause of that.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

  • Prob with web pages loading w. Chrome and Firefox

I am having problems with Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox completely loading some internet pages. I have to hit the refresh button over and over and sometimes that does not even work. I have cleared all of the browswer history and that was not effective. I have a Mac Book Pro purchased around April of 2010. I thought it may be an internet prob in my house but I have no issues with streaming video or downloading anything.  Any help would be appreciated. I have not tested it on a hard wire conneection, only wireless.
    Thanks, Jeff

Well it is all kinds that should work, like Facebook, ESPN, JC Penny, MMA Junkie,  I just read a post on MAC Forums or something and I went it to the wireless advanced settings and disabled the ipv6 under the tcp/ip tab and i am going to try that. It seems to be working so far.  have you heard of this setting and what it is for?

  • Firefox not loading any pages.

Firefox not loading any pages either when typing a url, dragging a .webloc into it or searching anything in its google field.  It just stays at the Also, when I try to open a .webloc file "open with", Firefox is not one of the options.  Furthermore, when I go to the "open with">"other..." route, Firefox is not selectable.  I've repaired permissions in Disk Utility, updated Flash and reinstalled the latest Firefox and restarted the computer with no success.  Also, another odd thing is when I double-click a .weblock file, it opens up in Fireox to a blank white page, even though its set to open in Safari as the "open with" default.  This is clearly an issue related to the computer, not Firefox.  Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If this is one Mac on a Network with your own Router, reconfigure the Router to have your ISP's DNS "magic numbers", then disconnect and reconnect your Mac. Your Mac should pick up the numbers from your Router.
If this is one Mac without a Router, use:
System Preferences > Network > (Internet interface) > Advanced ...
to enter your ISP's "magic numbers" for DNS.
If you prefer, you can use OpenDNS servers instead:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Make certain you do not have any bogus, old, dead numbers ahead of the ones you want to be using -- they will be used first in the order they appear.

Thank you for the link, but I am not sure how this is going to help me: I am not booting straight to an X session, but prefer to log into TTY1 and have my login shell handle everything from there.
Here is the relevant part of my .zprofile:
    if (( UID )); then
    [[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 1 ]] && exec systemd --user
    fi
As far as I understand, your method works if I enable the [email protected] template when actually booting straight to X.

  • How do I stop the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading after upgrading to ver. 6.0?

I upgraded from Firefox 3 point something or other (if I could remember exactly, I'd tell you) about 2 weeks ago to version 6.0. Thereafter, Firefox always starts up with two pages; one is a page declaring "Your Firefox is up to Date" and, on another tab, the default home page for Firefox. (the Google one)
It has continued to do that ever since, and I cannot find a way to stop the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading at start-up.
I'm running a pc with WinXP Professional w/Service pak 3.

A suggestion for stopping the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading at startup.
Use MozBackup for this; get it at http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/.
A good user friendly tutorial on it's use can be found at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2418/backup-your-mozilla-based-software-with-mozbackup/.
Download MozBackup and read through the howtogeek tutorial.
    Exit Firefox.
Open MozBackup and start the procedure.
Follow the procedure except for a part where you RESTORE the profile; in the Components selection window in MozBackup, UNCHECK the "General settings" box (you remember the General tab in the Tools/Options window in Firefox where your homepage info is kept?)
Continue with the procedure to the end.
When you re-open Firefox, you should be getting the Google homepage without the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page.
Go to Tools/Options/Privacy tab. If it looks different than what it used to, ie: you used to have the option to not accept cookies, etc and now you don't, open the drop-down menu in the Hisory portion there and click on "Use custom settings for history", which will provide options for more control.

  • Why does Firefox re-jump to a page when it is finished loading or when automatically refreshing?

If I change tabs or windows within Firefox or switch from Firefox to another open programme running, and the browser page has not completely loaded (or sometimes refreshes due to automatic updating) what I see on the monitor is not the tab or window highlighted in the tab bar (or for that matter programme highlighted in the taskbar). Firefox just jumps back on its own accord and leaves me with often with a view that is conglomeration of the reloading page and the other programm I am working on.

Another user posted a screenshot of something like that earlier this afternoon, and I'm not sure what is causing that to happen. I suspect if may be caused by an extension that was recently updated, but no ideas about which one it may be. I just got back to my computer after be gone for the last five hours, so I don't if there has been any additional information in the other thread or not. This is about all I can figure to do right now until we have more information related to this new issue.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • New firefox isnt loading web pages, other browsers do! What's wrong?

None of my pages are loading, giving me the "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.whatever.com" - yet (obviously) I can get other browsers to work.
So now what? why the hell is the new browser broken? It was working last night just fine, before I shut down the computer.

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
