Cant locate photos/video from other iphones on the cloud
I have backed up iphone 5s , and a iphone 4 . I broke the i5 and now using my i4 but when i try to retrieve photos/videos from the I5,orI4 I do not see files for photos? I have all other files photos icon is missing?
This is very helpful. It seems my IPhoto is too old and can't get on the ICloud for photos yet. I will try the upgrade.

I had a similar/same problem - when I deleted the video locally, it did not appear as a Cloud video.
To solve this, I deleted it locally, signed out of iCloud, powered of the iPad, powered back on, opened videos (empty), signed back into iCloud.
Now all my videos are present in the cloud, and none locally.
Not a great UX though -
How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply. -
I want to remove photo albums from my iphone, since they are eating up my storage capacity. The tutorial says I should be able to 'change' and then select 'remove' , but there is no such thing as a remove button... Can anyone help me?
How did the photos/albums get onto the phone ?
Only photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the phone - either via the trashcan icon at the bottom right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it top right in thumbnail view. Albums that you've created directly on the phone can be deleted via the Edit button at the top right of the album selection screen.
Photos/albums that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing -
I take lots of photos/videos of my kids and my iphone is hooked up to my macbook-pro and then new-my passport (1Tb) and having problems on transfering them to external hard drive (my passport). "My passport" does not have iphoto so I can't use it as a start up hard drive to my computer... I can't download on computer because it says it is full...

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

My old iPod touch won't sync my photo videos from my iPhone 5
I recorded videos on my iphone 5 and want to put them on my old ipod touch. When I use itunes to save the videos and then sync it to my old ipod touch it just says could not be synced see itunes for more information on my ipod. PS the ipod touch is the old one without a camera.

The phone takes HD videos but your old iPod can only play/sync SD video.
If the Create New version disscussed in the above links does not work you will need a third-party converter like the free Handbrake. -

If you erased your AB in iCloud, then you also erased it on your iPhone if it was enabled with iCloud. Where did you erase it at? The iCloud.com website? Or, another computer. Not really sure what or how you did it.
If you still have the AB on your iPhone because it wasn't enabled, then if you enable iCloud on it, then the contacts there will be merged into iCloud.

i am having a hard time recieving text messages from iphone users on my android device even after deactivating my old iphone and imessages. i dont know what else to do, apple is no help and want to charge me for assitance?!?!?!

1. Remove the contact card
2. Then turn off iMessage and then back on again
3. Go to Messages and compose a new message
4. Press +. This will make a list of recent contacts pop up.
5. Click on the info button number of the contact you are trying to reach.
6. Remove from Recents
7. Try to compose another message
8. If the message attempts to send as blue (imessage), press on the message.
9 Option to send as SMS will appear (as long as they have SMS turned on.
10. Repeat and rinse.
11. Messages will start changing over to all SMS as the user will show as non-imessage user.

I want the photos from my phone to be uploaded to the icloud but I dont want photos to be downloaded to my phone. Is there a way I can do that? the photos are taking up too much space and I can't download the new IOS 6.
If by 'Allfiles' you mean 'All My Files' then what you see is correct. The All My Files option under Favorites shows all the files in your user folder. All your documents, music, movies, pictures, everything. Under the View menu you have an 'Arrange By' selection that can arrange all your documents by what kind they are, by what Application owns them, or by name, date, etc.
Since this isn't what you want, unselect 'All My Files' and choose the folder you want to see. BTW, those items under Favorites are user adjustable. You can drag a folder into that blue area under Favorites to add it to the Favorites and you can remove one by holding the Command key and dragging it from favorites into the desktop. You'll see the icon change into a cloud and when you release the mouse it will disappear. -

No. If you delete them from your phone, they will also be deleted from iCloud. You can't really use iCloud to free up space on your phone because anything you put in iCloud will also be on your phone (except your backup). If you want to be able to access your photos on the web without storing them on your phone, upload them to a service that is designed for that (Flikr, Smugmug, etc.).
