Cant login on my Satellite Pro C

Hi!
My problem is that I cant log in on my Laptop.
I can not write my password. Can not mark the window where to write.
Since I does not like how Windows 8 look like I have downloaded a little program so it looks like Windows 7 more, with a start bottom and so. I dont know if that is the problem or not.
Problem occurred when I last evening should write in my password and had forgot to mark tha little window where to write, and pushed enter and when I looked up everything was froozen.
I can move mouse but thats all I can do.
Is there anyone that knows if I can solve it or if I have to reinstall OS, If possible.
Thanks for all help.
/Priezt

Could you be more specific?
What notebook do you have exactly and what password do you mean?
Do you mean the windows user password or do you mean the BIOS password?
I also dont understand also this:
>Since I does not like how Windows 8 look like I have downloaded a little program so it looks like Windows 7 more
Do you use still Win 8 or Win 7?
What little tool did you install?
Sorry mate, you should provide more details.

  • Cant login in my macbook pro

When i try login in my mackbook pro  it accepts and everything but then this white background with a circle on the middle appears. What should i do??

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
To restart an unresponsive computer, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
    b. If Step 1a fails because of disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
    c. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use the technique in Step 1b, 1c, or 1d to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If a desktop Mac hangs at a plain gray screen with a movable cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Press and hold the button on the side of an Apple wireless keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you're using a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 11. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
    Step 9
If the startup device is an aftermarket SSD, it may need a firmware update and/or a forced "garbage collection." Instructions for doing this with a Crucial-branded SSD were posted here. Some of those instructions may apply to other brands of SSD, but you should check with the vendor's tech support.
    Step 10
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 11
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 12
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 13
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Satellite Pro M10 Fn-F5 not working after login???

Im hoping someone can help me. Im totally confused.
Im running a projector off of a Satellite Pro M10. The Fn-F5 works perfectly all the way up until the CTRL - ALT - DEL prompt. Even at this point I can still Fn - F5 and flip through the settings. As soon as I login the FN - F5 doesnt do anything? I have removed all the monitors, reinstalled the video card with the latest driver and installed the Device Function key utility from the website?
I am assuming it must be something with the display settings once the user logs in but I cant work it out? I have tried taking the setting down to the basic 16bit and 800 x 600 but it makes no difference?
Any help or pointers would helpful?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi
Sorry but you posting is a little be confused.
The FN+F5 combination allows you to switch between display devices. You can choose an external monitor, TV etc.
If you want to use the FN keys you have to install the Driver for Toshiba Display Devices Change Utility (Display Device Change) and the Hotkey Utilities for Display Devices.
These both applications are responsible for the correctly usage of the FN+F5 option.
The display graphic driver has nothing to do with the FN+F5 keys.

  • Why cant I login to my Mac Pro?

    Hi,
when I try to login to my Mac Pro from wakeup screensaver (it asks for the password), it no longer accepts my password.
When I erase the username on that screen and try to type it in, it does not echo the characters on the screen either.
It just "writes invisibly" moving along the cursor but the username doesnt show.
When typing the password the little round dots do show but it doesnt accept it.
Any ideas what that could be?
Id like to avoid a hard reset...
    thanks
    the Wumpus

You can delete the Keychain: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/9078.html
If you need to reset your login password (you may need to do this before you can delete your login Keychain): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite Pro L40-15d

    Hi
I have Satellite Pro L40-15d with 512 memory (Samsung) but I wont upgrade to 1GB. I have Kingston ktt667d2/1g I have tray to put in to both slots but nothing work I cant switch on computer.
But when I change for old one laptop is ok. What can I do? Install special program or update BIOS or maybe the memory stick is broken.
    Regards

    Hi
    The notebook doesnt boot after the memory upgrade due to these different issues;
    - memory modules are not compatible together
    - memory modules are not compatible with the notebook
    - memory modules are faulty
    - one of memory slots is faulty
In most case the memory module replacement helps.
One hint; did you try to switch the memory modules in the slots? Sometimes this helps.
Several weeks ago I have updated my memory and the notebook didnt boot.
I thought its a memory malfunction but after module switching the notebook booted correctly.
    Good luck

  • Blank screen after display driver update Satellite Pro P200

I installed the latest ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 display driver (8.432, from the Toshiba site via Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. On rebooting everything looks fine as far as the Windows Vista Business "Please wait ..." screen, but instead of displaying the login page I get a blank screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as normal). All I can do at this point is power off, and I've run out of ideas on how to get any further.
    Things I've tried:
    # booting into safe mode, low-resolution video or last known good configuration all result in the same blank screen.
    # connecting to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) isn't possible because the system hasn't loaded the network drivers yet.
    # I can't revert to a restore point because Vista can't find any (I made a manual one after installing windows updates on a couple of days ago).
I can run a command prompt from the system recovery options and would prefer to use that to disable the driver +if+ I knew how before resorting to the more drastic options.
A web search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous releases of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at give a solution that's available to me.

No joy with an external screen so I bit the bullet and reinstalled from the product recovery disk. I tried expert mode to retain the data partition but that failed twice, so I had to restore it from the previous day's backup after doing a full reinstall. Two consolations, though.
    # It allowed me to increase the size of the data partition.
    # The display driver update worked fine on the fresh install.
Needless to say I've since found [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927525] which describes how you can disable a problem device driver (atikmdag in my case) from the system recovery command prompt :-(
Hopefully the instructions in there will help anybody who gets caught with similar problems.

  • No sound on Satellite Pro A120 with Windows Vista

    Hi
I have had to reinstall my Vista operating system and rebuild my A120 Satellite Pro from the revovery disk.
Most things are fine but I cant get any sound from the speakers of headphine jack.
I have checked andit says that the Realtek High Definition Sound Driver is installed and working correctly.
My volume buttons are up high on the mixer and on Windows Media Player.
    The driver is Realtek 6.0.1.5317
    Help would be much appreciatesd

Nothing through the speakers, nothing via the headphone socket. Volume bar goes up and down with the music as it should do when you play an audio file. Tried the Windows Vista built in driver, the Realtek ones from the Toshiba site.
Last thing to try is rebuilding to the XP support disk, making sure the volume is right at the tip and unmuted, and try reinstalling Vista again, which is tonight's job, but I'm not feeling hopeful about it. Like I said before the toshiba unmute tool didn't do anything for me.

  • Satellite Pro U400-G13 - "C++ Runtime Error" on startup

    Hey Toshiba Forum Users
    I just bought a Satellite Pro U400-G13
I powered it up and the auto install startet Windows Vista. The computer restartet.
After reboot a toshiba program starts up and requested a reboot more.
After that I have a "C + + Runtime Libery Error" every time I start the computer.
If I press OK the screen goes to black in 1 secound and the error shows up again.
It comes up in a "Please Wait" screen before the login screen to Windows.
I can start it in Safe Mode but do not really know what I should do with that...
Is there anyone who has tried something similar or has any good ideas for what I can do ..
    Many greetings Asger Benzon

    Hi
    Try to reinstall the preinstalled OS using the HDD recovery option;
Like Raver said you can press the F8 button immediately after the notebook has been powered up. Then choose repair my computer and star the Toshiba Recovery procedure.
This should start the new OS installation.
After the installation has finished, reboot once again and check the OS again for any error messages.
    Bye

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4): DVD drive permanently blinking

    Hello,
I have been using a Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4) laptop for some time now without any major issues.
My dvd drive (tsst crop TS-L632H) is no longer working for a few days now... More precisely, its LED is permanently orange blinking. Drivers are up to date. The eject button doesn't work either. No disc is inserted. The drive seems fine in the Windows device manager...
If opened manually and if a disc is inserted in the drive, I can't see any data. Can't boot on the disc either.
I'm running under Vista 32bit SP1 with the latest bios available on the toshiba website (2.40).
Since I need to fix the frequently reported "black screen" issue before login prompt, using the windows installation disc
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks !

    Hi
According to you page you are not able to boot from any CD or DVD, not even from the Toshiba Recovery CD.
    Am I right?
To be honest, Ive no idea why such issue happened but in my opinion its related to the hardware malfunction and only the replacement could helps
I dont know how old you notebook is but maybe the warranty is valid and you could replace it for free
    What do you think?

Is there anyhone thats having any idea how or whats the problem?

Hi again. Ive discovered how to solve the problem! Its the Norton Internet security thats causes the problem.
Just open the program, right click at the icon down at right, click at "Norton Protection Center"
Click on the "Norton Internet Cecurity", Wirewall settings, Commin Settings, Common Rules, Configurate,
Scroll down to "Standard-Block filesharing in Windows" Mark and "Modify", Mark the option "Allow" Save and go!
If You have understand what Ive written it should be working, the thing is that I have Swedish versions of all the software
so it might be a littel hard to understand the translation that Ive done. Try to use it and look for the most likness of my poor English.

    Hi
According notebook specification your notebk has Realtek 802.11bgn RTL8191SE WLAN card inside and it is confusing that this WLAN card is not listed under network adapters in device manager.
I presume you have german machine. Have you installed own OS on English using Microsoft installation disc.
Have you installed WLAN card driver?
Please do it. Latest driver you can find on Toshiba WLAN portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
