Cant Make or receive calls, only emergency calls

All of a sudden without any update, my Porsche Design 9981 stops receiving or making calls, browser also blocked but I can send and receive sms, i can use the blackberry messenger, then when i put the sim in another blackberry phone everything was perfect, i was able to make and receive calls, can anyone assist me in unblocking my phone calls and brower?

When the SIM card became activated have you since rebooted be device ? 
Have you you tried a network reset on the device ? 
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.   You will need to put back your wifi passwords after doing this.

    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

    It can take up to a few days for ports to complete and all functions become available with your new service.  Is your old phone turned off? (You can remove the battery to be sure it is completely off and disconnected from the old carrier.)

    Hi everyone,
    My bt phone has been activated yesterday in the morning but I cant make any calls ( I have signal but when I dial the number it says that 'the number you have dialled has not been recognised') and when im trying to phone that number my phone id completely silent and even though my mobile makes that call picking up the headset doesnt answer the call. My broadband from bt also isnt working. Anyone has any ideas or had a problem like that before?? Also when I ring17070 it gives me a completely different number to the one bt gave me.

    An exchange fault like I describe, would not affect broadband, however, broadband may not be activated the same day as the phone. A failure to get the correct number on the line, would cause the broadband technician to fail the circuit.
    A crossed line would cause broadband issues, but the fact that when you call the number, its unobtainable, would indicate an exchange fault.

    All- I get this message ("iPhone can not make or receive calls. Restore from iTunes" (happend once while on airplain mode and now once while in wifi only area, out of cell range)). iPhone 4.  Newest OS.  Never happened with old OS! Cycling phone on/off does not help.  Ignoring message causes phone to cycle off then on.  After first time this happened, I restored.  Six days later...same problem!  Clearly a new fix is necessary.  Suggestions? 

    I have not tried that...I will look up the process so that I can do it correctly (and still transfer all of my files, contacts, etc).  Any suggestions?  What is the advantage of restoring as a new device..is this more akin to a complete wipe of a hard drive?

    If you have the computer that you first setup the phone with iTunes then just connect the phone to that computer via. the USB cable and see if a sync can be done.

    You must have a SIM card installed ( if applicable ) and have your iPhone activated to make calls or text mobile phones.

    I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and out of nowhere it started refusing to send or receive SMS's and it doesn't want to make or receive calls, load airtime, check voicemail and all the telephony parts of it. However, my BBM and internet are working perfectly. I tried calling my service provider (MTN) about this and they said it was a call barring problem, they gave me a bunch of pins to use but my phone won't even allow for those to work.     In this situation you mobile operator is the only solution for you. You contact them again and ask how unbar your phone so that everything becomes normal.

    Have you tried rebooting the phone?  Also maybe removing and reinstalling the sim card?  Make sure your not in airplane mode or check under settings -- general --cellular and see whats turned on or off.

    Phone is only a few months old and was working fine last night - it ran out of battery but on being charged up this morning it was effectively locked.  I received an error message that I could not make or receive calls and I had to restore via itunes.  I have done so and lost loads of apps etc (my fault for not backing up) but still unable to make or receive calls.  Anyone had anything similar and can advise who I should contact or what I can do.

  • Wifi-using Apps blocking 4G LTE network and can't make or receive calls. Any solutions?

    Please note: I can make and receive calls right now, but I was having a significant issue earlier yesterday and today. So, I kind of want to give a heads up to others and see if anyone has experienced this and discovered the root cause of the problem.
    I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I got it about a month or so ago. Within the last 24 hours, I have experienced issues with calling out and receiving calls. When someone tries to call me, it rings and rings, and goes to voicemail without it ever showing up as a recent call. It was determined that part of the issue is likely having to do with an App or multiple Apps that use my Wifi connection at home and is blocking the 4G LTE network. However, I wasn't really given a perma-solution to it. It's "trial and error" I guess. But, this could be a potential hazard and I would really like to figure it out once and for all. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to discover more about this issue and a perma-solution.
    Here's what I did with customer service's help:
    On the phone, turn the Wifi setting off.
    Dial #832. If successful, dial another number and see if you can complete the call.
    If you can complete the call, turn the Wifi setting back on.
    Try dialing #832 again. If successful, try another number again and see if you can complete the call.
    If you cannot complete the call successfully, try long-pressing the HOME button at the bottom of the device. All running apps should show up. Click CLOSE ALL.
    Try calling #832 and the other number again to see if the calls can be completed.
    If the calls can't be completed, call Customer Service, or if your phone is your only mode of communication, do a live chat via a laptop/desktop.
    In the meantime, I did test having several apps open that do use Wifi, the 4G LTE indicate isn't showing up, but I seem to be able to make calls right now. Otherwise, for the sake of safety, does anyone out there have any solutions or know what App(s) or setting(s) may be the root cause of the problem?

    If you are using a Bionic or any other 4G phone, you do not dial *228 to update your Preferred Roaming List ... that is handled automatically by the phone's SIM card.  To force an update, you can turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow a few minutes for it to re-establish a connection.
    However, as noted by the Verizon rep, if you check the Verizon coverage map, there isn't any coverage in area code 79834.  I've no explanation as to why your neighbor's phone works.

    I preorder a phone in june, and phone didn't work out of box. can not male call or reiceve calls!. When I got exchange after verizon store, I was able use it in certain areas but not all areas... I wasted week with the phone decided to return the phone after waiting for 4 days for service call tag to the engineer to find out what is the problem... I got message from tech saying "problem is solved, it was tower issue." I called back to order another phone, but they said I cannot get the same price as before, because they havent processed my return at the time... I waited over 2 weeks to order a new phone and when I finally got it... it had same problems...  I called them a 3 hours ago, cust rep said I can not return the phone, and had to ask for  the manager. Manager I spoke to was pertty nice, and it seem like he cared. He agreed to take the phone back if I can get it return within 2weeks from orginal date of purchased( Its been 1 week because rep made me wait for another service call tag for engineer. she said she will put it in as highest priority case and she will follow up with and let me know (I never heard from her since that day....what a service)) He also offer to give me 15 dollar for lost of service when I asked for it, but I found out now he did somethings  else to my account. He had changed my unlimited data and 700 shared minute to 2gb with 700 shared minutes.. is this legal?
    ps. I'm not the only one with problem.

    I feel you pain, I'm in the same boat, I'm on my second S3. the first one threw no sim errors but at least it could make calls. The second one I have also give's me no sim errors and I can't make or receive calls. I have a ticket open currently for this issue, but they do not seem to be doing anything with it. I'm still within the 48 hour window for resolution but I need to make a decision by tomorrow as my 14 days end then. This is the first time I ever had a problem with Verizon, it takes me back to when I had AT&T, at lease I knew I would have crappy service.
