Cant move movies to itunes or ipod

ive tried many different converters \i just cant get my movies i downloaded into itunes and when i try to put them on my ipod it gives me an error message "cannot move to ipod because ipod wont play it" or somethin to that effect I have a 160gb ipod classic 6G if that helps anything somebody plz help ive even reinstalled i tunes to see if that would work and it didnt

You have to download a converter (a trial, at least). I know about the issues on trial versions of converters that contain annoying watermarks, but I've found one with a no so bad watermark (at the bottom, not covering the video).

  • Rented a movie in iTunes on iPod, but under downloads..

Rented a movie in iTunes on iPod, but under downloads it just kept saying waiting. Is it downloading?!!

Sorry, what I was attempting to clarify was this:
You can rent the movie on your desktop but in order to watch it on your ATV you will have to turn on Home Sharing and download the movie to your desktop, only then will the rented movie appear on your ATV under Home Sharing.
Either this is a flaw in the software or part of a copyright arrangement. If you purchase a movie, then it will appear under Movies > Purchased on the ATV, for some reason rentals do not. If this is software related then it should be fixed at some point. Although the original thread is from over a year ago, the problem persists. Renting on the ATV directly is not optimal since the file is not transferable to any other device, presumably b/c there is no file? But that shouldn't matter. All that should matter is: this Apple ID purchased this item > it should be available on all devices associated w/that Apple ID.

  • Download windows media player movies to itunes to ipod

download windows media player movies to itunes to ipod?  downloaded music ok

I saw that post... but it doesn't match the screen in Windows Media Player 0. On the Sync tab there is a Start Sync button a Edit Playlist button and Set up Sync button. The 'Set up Sync' button is always disabled.
I can't figure out how to get the playlists downloaded to the Zen Touch. Windows Media Player 0 would be the way to go if I could get the playlists to download.
I have played around over and over with the screens etc... I just can't figure out how to make them download with the Zen Touch anyway... 40 gig, for what it's worth.
If someone has been able to do this with a Zen Touch, I would love to know how to do it.

  • Cant put songs from itunes to ipod

Cant put songs from itunes to ipod, i have itunes on my computer at my house and i have i tunes on my computer at work.
It will only let me have songs either from my house or my work not both, if i try to drag the songs into the ipod symbol it wont let me put it in my ipod
anyone know what the problem is???

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer (As in your case where you have one at home and one you use at work) you can change the update preference to "manually manage songs and playlists. By doing this, you can listen to your iPod at work where you may have iTunes but no songs or a different set of songs on the computer.
See these links for more detail:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing Your Songs Manually
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • Cant drag songs from itunes to ipod

i have it set on manage music manualy

This is a rather obvious question but are you using the iPod in manual mode? If it's updating automatically you can't drag songs to it. Also automatic is the default mode so if you restored it with the Updater that's the option that would be switched on. Are you getting any error messages?

  • How do I transfer songs from my ipod mini to my computer or to my itunes library? Songs/playlists show up as being on ipod but cant move to itunes library.

How do I transfer songs from my ipod mini to either my computer or to my itunes library.

    Hello Christopher,
There are 2 ways to go about this.  One is to use the manual method which is a little different depending on whether or not you use a Mac or a PC or you can opt to use a 3rd party software that can help you accomplish the task as well.  See this older thread for a list of possible software you could use.

  • Moving movies from iTunes to iPod (6th gen 160gb classic)

Ok, so recently I've been having trouble with the transfer of my movies to my iPod (I have about 40 movies/TV shows on it already that I've never had trouble with)
Ex: I have a few episodes of Boy Meets World(not purchased from the iTunes store, but all of them play perfectly fine in iTunes). I put them into a new playlist, selected them all, and dragged the playlist onto my iPod. The issue is that only SOME episodes transfer and there aren't any error messages or anything, they just don't go on my iPod. **I also tried adding them one by one and it still doesn't work.
I have PLENTY of room left on my iPod for the episodes, they just won't transfer and I don't know why.
Is it my iTunes (meaning I should probably re-install it), or is it my iPod?

is your iTunes set to sync all content to iPod or only sync checked items?
Do you get any error messages stating that the video cannot be played on your device?

  • Movie from itunes to ipod problem

Ok so i have the latest version of itunes(8) and my macbook pro is updated, before anyone asks. I just got handbrake. i used handbrake to convert my movie into mp4 and saved it on my hard drive. The movie goes into itunes fine but when i drag it into my ipod it says it cannot be played on this ipod. why would this happen and how can i try fixing it? please tell me i didnt just wait 3 hours for handbrake to convert a movie for nothing!

when you are working in hand brake make sure that you set the options to insert an IPOD atom. It is a check box on the main page. Also if you are wanting good quality I usually set the options to IPOD High Rez and then set the kbps to 2500. This is good quality and will render a movie at about 1GB level with great quality for big screen but small enough for IPOD.

  • Stream movies in iTunes to ipod Touch?

I have been looking and have not found anything..... So I don't think we can.....
    But I will ask anyway...
Can I stream movies (on my imac) to my ipod touch via my home network?
Is there an app that will allow this if not?
    Thanks

I assume (by the lack of responses) that we can not do this?

  • How Do I Move Movies from iTunes to iPod

I managed to figure out how to convert my DVD's using Xilisoft trial software. Very proud of myself I also figured out how to load the DVD's into my iTunes software and they appear very nicely on my computer scree. The problem I am having is I cannot get the video's from my iTunes onto my iPod.
The Apple tutorial says "When iPod icon appears in the iTunes window, select it". Well no iPod icon appears in my iTunes window so now what do I do? I am on a Dell Insperion with Windows XP 2002. Thanks

Thanks Zevoneer,I did take that link you provided and I have been there before but did manage to find a post I hadn't seen before so thanks!. The only message in the post that related to my problem suggests that 7.0 is bugged and says that 6.05 would be a better version to run. Well when I set up the new iPod (this was a gift to my wife that replaces her earlier iPod) it automatically downloaded 7.0. Do I really need to go backwards and if so how? All her music files transfered over seamlessly why doesn't the video function work?

  • Movies on itunes and ipod no sound

I just got my ipod vid and i wanted to put some vidoeos on it but each time that i use utunes to convert them, there is no sound. The video is fine but nothing else. There isnt any when playing the converted video in itunes either. Also, is the conversion process normally reall slow?

Well you may be having different issues if your running XP on a mac with bootcamp, but on the windows side the video most likly is multiplexed and the issue is covered here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302588

  • Cant upload songs from itunes to ipod!!!

I am trying to upload music from my itunes to my ipod and itunes recognizes the ipod and says it is syncing my songs but when it says it is done syncing and i properly eject... the ipod says i have NO music on it but my itunes says i have 1362 songs in my library but none them are on the ipod.. and the ipod says it is full with other "stuff"..... HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Are you dragging from within the iTunes interface? Set to Auto Sync and select some of your Play Lists and see how that works.
You cannot drag tunes to the iPod via the Finder and play those tunes. If dragging via the Finder you will be using your iPod as a HD to move files to another comuter etc.
