Cant move or rename images or folders from within lightroom 5.

Lightroom wont allow me to move or rename either single images or folders within lightroom. Keep getting an unknown error occurred message. All images are currently on an external hard drive. Any ideas?

Yes. All images are imported into lightroom and editable. Green light is also showing on the folders tab just the same as with my c drive. I can move/rename images and folders etc from explorer but then have to locate them for lightroom to find.

Trying to post images to Facebook from within Lightroom

I know that this will work, but unfortunately I have not been able to get this to work, and after spending nearly 3 hours with technical support, I am no closer than when I started the call.

I am on Windows 7 with latest updates along with Lightroom 3.4.1 on a 64 bit system with 12 gig of ram. Lightroom was originally installed on D drive but per support, it is now installed on the C drive which resulted in the same behavior.
The account setup on Facebook appears to be corrrect and the image appears to post until clicking on the "view on Facebook" is selected.

Opening an image to edit from within Lightroom

Hi there
I have just installed Lightroom 5 on my iMac running Yosemite.
When I click on 'edit in', I have the option of opening PS CS5 or Elements 13, both of which are installed.
If I choose CS5, the image opens OK. When I choose Elements, the image doesn't open for editing.
Any suggestions?

Go to Preferences, then click on the External Editing tab, then under Additional External Editor click on "Choose" and then (remember, this is on Windows, not Mac) point to PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe

Can I change Filename from within Lightroom?

I am in the Trial Period with Lightroom, having just used it for two days. I assume that one must be able to change a photo's filename from within Lightroom, but I surely can't see how to do it, having looked in the Help file and through all the menus.
Here's what I'm trying to do. When I take photos, I create a descriptive filename that tells me what's in the image. Then I import a big batch. What I want to do is to create slideshows from those images in a different order from the importing order: maybe it's slide 23, then 15, then 10, etc. I was hoping to do this by sticking sort numbers on the front of the filenames (changing the filenames), and then sorting on the filenames to create the desired slideshow sequence.
But, I can't find a way to change the filename within LR. If I do it outside LR, then I lose whatever work I've already done on the images.
Am I overlooking some obvious better way to do this?

Try first to Clear your cache from : Tools > Options > Advanced > Network, Clear Now button.

Editing images in PS CS6 within Lightroom 5

If I import my raw images into my Lightroom 5 library and edit some of them in CS6 within Lightroom 5 by using the tab. How can I save them from CS6 back into my Lightroom 5 Library after making further adjustments?

In the Library there is Sort Order and with some settings the edited file will be at the end rather than next to the original file. I use Capture Time and they return exactly.

Buying prints from within Lightroom?

I'm a pro and currently buy quite a few prints for clients from within Aperture. The convenience, price and quality is great. However I'm switching to Lightroom and the only thing that seems to be missing is buying prints from inside the application. I've looked for a plugin with no luck. I guess there probably is one? The other option is to export pictures and upload them to a lab but that would complicate the workflow and take longer. Any ideas? I'm in the UK. Thanks.

Hey Michael, I've been in touch with a few labs in the UK to see if they had an API (software interface for developers), but none seemed interested in allowing someone to creata a plugin for their services. You could look at Smugmug or Zenfolio as services for print buying, and while there are publish plugins for these, it's still a step extra to order.

Can't import single images or folders from iPhoto 6.0.2 into Aperture 1.1

Hi everbody:
After the Aperture 1.1 update, I can no longer import folders or single images from my iPhoto 6.0.2 library into Aperture. When I click "File" - "Import" - "Files and folders", I can browse through the iPhoto library and see all my film rolls and albums, but when I click on any album, no images are displayed and the status line in Aperture says "No images to import". In iPhoto, images are imported into the iPhoto library, not just aliases.
Even after a clean re-installation of Mac OS X (not just archive and install), installing all system updates (10.4.6) and a clean re-install of Aperture with the updates to 1.1, I still have the same problem. I also let iPhoto rebuild it's library. It still doesn't work.
Does anyone have an idea?

This is the result of a bug that will be addressed in an update to be released in the very near future. Rest assured that iPhoto import will start working correctly soon.

I have an apple ipad version 6.13 working. I cant move my mp3s that I download from my mac onto my ipad it just doesnt work and I have tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions? I have home sharing on and everything but I am really stuck. some song

I am using my ipad to transfer some mp3s over to my ipad. some go over, most do not. I even had trouble with videos syncing over. I am running version 6.13. I have plenty of space left but they just wont get on there. This is what happens. I take a video I have and make an mp3 out of it sometimes, sometimes its just plain mp3s. I do the conversion and it comes out fine but it goes to my computer itunes and not on my ipad. Does anyone know what I can try to get the mp3s onto my ipad? its driving me nuts not to be abke to do this. Thank you for any suggestions!!! PS I am using snow leopard as my OS on my mac

no they are already in mp3 format I just tried that home sharing today because I couldnt find any other reason why they werent syncing. here is an example of a sync I just tried. I made an mp4 concert into an mp3 it came out perfect on my computer.. then I tried to sync it to my ipad with no luck, other than it going on my computer, it did not show up anywhere on my ipad in any area of the music sections etc playlists, songs, albums etc. Its just not there but remains on my computer. thats why I tried the home share today to see if that would help. Either I am really missing something or there is something wrong with this ipad. Did you ever have any trouble like this, does anyone? and what is something good to try? thank you again for answering! I appreciate it.

I can't launce Photoshop CS 6 from within Lightroom Properly.

I'm using LIghtroom 4.1 RC2 Camera Raw 7.1 RC, CS6 Master Collection Trial Version, Windows 7
This is a known issue / conflict with the Photoshop 6 Beta and Windows UAC that seems not to have been resolved (See detailed description below)?? If anyone knows of a workaround I would be VERY Grateful… Turning UAC off is not an option nor does it rectify the problem.
When I select an image right click and choose Edit In “Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6…” Windows throws a UAC User Account Control warning “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer” choosing yes opens Photoshop CS6 but the image is never created. I have to exit out of Photoshop. After Photoshop has closed (And a few minutes) Lightroom will then display “The File could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched…” I then get a second UAC User Account Control warning “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer” and the file is created and opens up in Photoshop. (The last part never happened in the Beta but at least Lightroom now creates a .psd file (In the Beta, I had to first create the PSD using Photoshop 5.1)
However I still can’t get Lightroom to open a dng as a smart object in Photoshop Edit In / “Open up in Photoshop as a Smart Object” to work at all!! This is ultamatly what I would perfer to be able to do.

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem that the problem with User Profiles (where the user profile doesn’t reside in the default location C:\Users\XXX) has been resolved… took two days but I finally was able to down load and install Master Collection…
In Windows there is an Administer Icon on lower 1/3 of the Photoshop Icon, indicating that you need to “Run As Administrator” which wasn’t present in the Beta. And when application is launched “User Account Controls” does prompted you “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer”
On the - Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe I have changed the “Change Settings for All Users” to “Run this program as Administrator” but as with the Beta I still get the User Account Controls prompt each time I launce Photoshop!
It was a real problem with Lightroom 4… I was never able to create a smart object psd in Lightroom. And creating a psd file required that I create the PSD using Photoshop 5.5 and only after creating the 5.5 PSD could I open the file in Photoshop 6.
Is there some stem that I have missed or some other work around???

I tried the solution I posted last night (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/edit-photoshop-command-missin g-photoshop.html) and it didn't work uninstall / reinstalling CS6 also doesn't work!! Finaly I went into the Registry and removed all referances to Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (there are a number of them) and pointed them to Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 but that also doesnt work!!!
The only solotion sofare is what I posted earlier... adding a pointer in "Edit In" to the 32bit version of Photoshop. Dut as I stated it still dosen't alow me to open in Photoshop as a Smart Object -- I GIVE UP!!!!

Edit in Photoshop CC from within Lightroom 4.4

I have replaced a Windows 7 installation of Photoshop CS4, with CS6, then with Photoshop CC. Now, when I right-click an image in LR to Edit in Photoshop, the menu option for Photoshop appears in the submenu as the Windows pathname to the old CS4 program, and I don't see an option to Edit In Photoshop CC. Clicking on the option that's presented, and selecting to edit a copy, simply creates a new PSD in LR, then nothing. Photoshop doesn't fire up.
[Edit] I have the same problem trying to 'Open with' in Bridge CC - it tries to use the old CS4 filepath to open Photoshop.
I've tried re-installing Lightroom but that hasn't fix it.
Please tell me how to update the 'Edit In' menu to show an option to run PSCC?

Problem was solved after a chat with Adobe Support. It was a matter of changing a couple of filepaths in the Registry.

Posting to a separate facebook page from within Lightroom

I set up the fb publishing service and it works really well. The problem that I currently have is that I created a professional page and want the albums to appear there. How can I achieve this? I do not want the albums in my private timeline, but in this professional page.

Thanks a lot! I tried to play with this plugin, but did not find out how to post to other pages. FB has me change the "user" to see the business pages and on the business pages I do not see the other stuff. I guess for posting to the business page there would have to be a setting in the plugin somewhere, but I could not find anything like that.

How to move ALL my images to a new SSD in laptop

Howdy,
I am adding a new SSD to my laptop (ran out of room) and want to move ALL my images (25,000) from my current Drive C to the new Drive D on my Alienware laptop. How do I do "adjust" LR4 so that it sees the images on the D Drive versus the C Drive? I can't find an answer and I do NOT want to make a mistake here to say the least

How do I access camera raw from withing Lightroom

Bear with me as I am new at this. I am trying lightroom and have read several reviews of 1.1 and Camera Raw 4.1. I read Martin Evening's update on 1.1 and he has a whole section on using CR to make adjustments to the raw file.
I imported several raw images in nef and dng formats into lightroom. I cannot see any way to open Camera Raw from any of the menues in lightroom. Could someone tell me how I get to Camera Raw 4.1 from within lightroom?
I have no problem accessing the image in Camera Raw from Bridge. It was my understanding that you do not need Bridge, just Lightroom to use Camera Raw.

ACR operates as a plugin within Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and does not operate on its own.
Lightroom is a separate software program which incorporates the ACR conversion processes for working with raw files. It does not require your having Photoshop installed on your computer.
I think Adobe has created a lot of the confusion in re naming the program "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" from the earlier name of "Adobe Lightroom" since it is not a part of Photoshop.

Cant' move images from frame to frame inside a Grid in InDesign. Please Help

When creating a grid in indesign there is an option to move images from frame to frame, and having them rotate around the frames to see where each image is best to be placed. Example I created a grid with 6 images (2 rows and 3 columns) and now i want image 1 to be where image 6 is. I know there's a way by hitting the arrows and some other keys and have all the images start rotating. I did it once I just can't remember. Please help. How do you move the an image from one frame to another frame without having to go to edit place?
