Cant open JPeg or any other picture file

For some reason I am unable to open any pictures (JPEG, PNG Etc) with Photoshop, it lets me choose a photo and when I click on it it just acts like nothing happened. Please help!

If it worked before reset preferences. Start PS and immediately hold down ctrl/alt/shift keys (alt/option/shift on mac). If fast enough you will get a reset window.

thisnthing keeps on probing itself ... i wonder why. (.66 is the NMH .76 is my pc ... ) it is also strange it cannot retrieve its own mac address....
Oh , you can turn off the logging features again when done. it only takes time and diskspace on the NMH
And before i get flamed : the comments i make about 'broken source' : i have no gripe with linux. I have a problem with companies that grab a bunch of stuff that is free ,slap it together, sell it for a lot of money and give no support to the people that bought it. I don't believe the last Thunderbird update worked, there was a very fast error message. But since then I cannot open jpeg attachments in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. If I go to Tools, then options, the jpeg line is grayed out, and the drop down menu does not show Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. The windows picture and fax viewer still works on my computer, but not for opening attachments.

I did as you said - deleted the entry for jpeg, but when I tried to open one there is not an option for Picture and Fax Viewer in the drop down, and it can't be found by browsing. It's just not there anywhere even though I can see pics in it except in email attachments.

I download Adobe reader and it the symbol takes over every icon on my computer...I am then unable to open the Internet, itunes or any other program files. I have tried to download several times and it happens everytime.

Hi Denise, It seems that your machine is not holding up the activation. Kindly try to following steps.

Adobe X Standard: Cant't load standard.joboptions or any other .joboptions file

After installing Acrobat X standard on a Win 7, 64 Bit, professionell machine Acrabat and distiller start, but when printing to Acrobat or out of distiller there is always an error:
Adobe PDF-Setting: Error reading the file..... (as described: the .options files).
So I can't write anything from any other location than from out of Acrobat X (but there just without changing any setting - so too low resolution).
- I tried chaning the access-rights to the files (now for everybody) - still doesn't work
- I saved a configuration-file from another machine (running win 7, 32 bit) on a network drive and tried to open this one: Doesn't work.
The Acrobat X was installed before on a slow Win 7, 32 bit and everyhting worked.
Now after chaning and upgrading to the faster machine witz Win7 64 bit it doesn't work anymore.
Any idea?

Cant open youtube in any browser in macbook pro

Hi. I have a macbook pro from 2010, I am still using snow leopard (10.6.8).
It was always hard to play youtube videos on Safari but I was able to get it work smoothly on Chrome. Then starting 2-3 weeks ago I cant open youtube site in any browser at all (safari, chrome, firefox..).
When i typed the site address and enter, all the browsers start like they might open the homepage, the loading bar in the address part starts a little but it waits and waits and never load more than that. Sometimes I get the "failed to open page" message at last (mostly on Safari). So I cant seem to make youtube work on my Mac. And adobe flash seems up to date so it shouldnt be a problem.
I encountered a discussion like this and it was advising to go 'hosts' file and delete the 'youtube.com' lines, I tried it but even i gave all the permissions -it wasnt permitted to make changes- to hosts file, it never saves any changes (it has another problem on that file to make changes i think). So i couldnt get it done that also. Does anyone have any idea about this? Thanks.

You have some sort of other problem and the /etc/hosts file shouldn't be messed with.
This is what it should look like and that's it. Anything esle is likely the result of malware or tinkering.

How can I make a flash user interface with buttons to open up and navigate other flash files?

Hello I would like to make a user interface that will serve as a tool to load and unload other flash materials like a slideshow. I would like to make a kind of slideshow with Flash that opens up other flash files which could be around 10-15 slides (frames) long each. I would want to ask if there is any way to make a link between navigation and other slides easily. And if there are ways, what action codes should I use for this. Thank you very much.

All you need to do is load a swf into the main swf and target it with whatever controls you intend. If you are using AS3 then you could use the Loader class to load the swf and then target the Loader.content with your control buttons.

Photoshop CS6 stopped working. Cannot open it. Bridge opens, but without any of my files populating it. HELP

Photoshop CS6 will not open any longer. Clicks on the icon on the desktop do nothing. Yet I was working with it yesterday. Bridge opened with my files populating it. I turned off computer hoping CS6 would reset. CS6 still does not open, but now Bridge opens without any of my files. Please HELP.

A FCP user gave me .mov's that PP CS5 cant open, what can I do? (File link enclosed)

A FCP shooter gave me .mov's that PP CS5 cant open, what can I do? I guess she rewrapped the files because as they try to import into cs5 a FCP loading diologe box opens stating: Importing FCP XML.... Afterwards it says i dont have the codec necc.
I'm PC based only.

If you tried XD Decode you must think that they originated as XDCam then, right? That is the codec I had to buy and once it was installed everything was transparent and normal. So I'm not sure what the crashing is all about, assuming your system meets the minimal tech. requirements. I'd give it another try if you haven't already.
Your best hope would be to locate the original camera files, which could very well have been deleted following the .mov copying via the Mac. I've had no problem with native XDCam in Premiere. The next best solution might be to have that FCP user do the conversions to another file format you can use. Hopefully there aren't thousands of them.
Firstodd, that's very interesting that your Avid MC was able to work with those files. I just found this from an Avid doc of last year: "If you want to play the exported movie in QuickTime, you need to purchase a third-party QuickTime plug-in. Avid recommends the Calibrated{Q} XD Decode from Calibrated Software"
Still, for the $80 I spent a year ago, XD Decode was well worth it in time saved. I see the price has gone up $50 since then though.

how do you open a .mdi format with a mac.. is it possible? i tried changing it to a .tif on my pc, but still cant open ... help

MDI files are Microsoft Office Document Imaging - a proprietary MS format
that I believe they were trying to get accepted in favour of PDF format -
it's a similar sort of philosophy, except that where PDF works on just about
every platform available, MDI only works in Office for Windows, v2003 and
higher (in fact, the MDI print driver appears to have been removed from
Office 2007). They are far more than " Microsoft's version of the .tiff
format".
Unfortunately, there are no ways to read these docs on a mac - even the
venerable GraphicConverter can't handle them. Can't you get your
correspondents to send the data in another format? Almost nobody I know uses
MDI. If they are scanned paper documents, then TIFF4 or PDF are far better
(and more widely available) alternatives.

10.6.8 does not meet the system requirements for most (if not all) of the latest Creative Cloud applications. You would have to upgrade your system to be able to work with them. Here are a few links so that you can see for yourself for some of the more popular programs...
