  • I cant open my trash

Whatever I do, I cant open my trash. Ive tried relaunching finder, and "killall dock" and "killall finder" in terminal. Nothing works. ans when i look up trash in spotlight I get a error. I dont really get how terminal works either.....

Move com.apple.finder.plist in your user/Home Folder Library/Preferences to the Desktop, then try again. To get to that folder, enter ~/Library/Preferences in Go to Folder. You will have to redo your finder settings.
    If that doesn't work:
In Terminal, COPY/PASTE ONLY. A mistake in the spaces in this command can be a disaster.
    sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash
Hit return, then at the prompt enter your admin password, which you won't see anywhere when you type it in. Hit return again. Keep going after getting the warning about using sudo.
When you get a new $ sign prompt, just close the window. Then log out and back in again.

  • What's going on when you type "sudo visudo" and hit Ctrl+C ? And why ?

    It goes into a loop:
I tried several times to grab the nonsense on the screen.
Is this a bug ? I'm not sure if it's related to xterm (because the same happens in guake).
It's freaking me out. What do ?
PS: I'm using the open source xf86-video-nouveau driver if you think it may be a driver issue.

    EDITOR=nano
    sudo visudo
    export EDITOR=nano && sudo visudo
They both open with vi. So how the heck do I edit my sudoers file then ?
    PS:
I'm sure vi is a powerful editor (in the right hands) but it's waaaaay off the KISS principle.
Nano is like 30 times easier. I couldn't even find the QUIT command in vi, lol.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

my ipad can not continue to download ios 6.1.2 because of connection problem and it is stuck in connect to itunes image, i cant open it anymore..what should i do? help plz

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Restore “...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If necessary Place the Device into Recovery mode...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
You may need to try this More than Once...
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • Hi, I cant open a document I have been working on. It has previously been saved without a problem now all I get is a box stating that the file cannot be opened. Any suggestions please?

Hi, I reecntly purchased a Mac and the Pages App. But now I find that I cant open a document I have been working on. It has previously been saved without a problem now all I get is a box stating that the file cannot be opened. It is visible in both the Pages Windows and under Recent Items but just will not open. Any suggestions please?

    Hi Colourdoodles,
Maybe the document is corrupted. Can you open other Pages documents? Preview may open it. Right click (or control click) on the document in Finder and Open With > Preview.
If that works, Edit > Select All, Edit > Copy. Then paste into a blank Pages document. Formatting may be messed up, but you will have editable text. Then Save (with a different name), close and see if you can open the new document.
    Regards,
    Ian

Did you ever verify the primary email address associated with her iCloud ID?  Apple should have sent a verification email like the one below to the email address that was used to set up the iCloud account.  You need to click the Verify Now link in the email to verify the address.
Make sure you are check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

Okay, that's got one thing ruled out at least.
Can you check something for me, big? I'd like to see if iTunes launches with the Bonjour Service disabled.
In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
    ... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes. Does it open this time?

Hello jetfire2000, it is malware related (sprotector.dll)
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • TS5376 i GET THIS ERROR REPORT WHEN ITRY TO UNINSTALL  ITUNES FROM MY COMPUTER   . . THE FEATURE YOU ARE TRYING TO USE IS ON A NETWORK RESOURCE THAT IS UNAVAILABLE   . I NOW CANT OPEN OR USE ITUNES AT ALL

When i try to uninstall itunes to enable me to reinstall i get this message . the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable .( 'itunes msi'   is the resource i cant find )  i now cant open or update itunes any ideas

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
