Cant play online games anymore

Hi,
Ever since I installed the new update for OSX, I cant play online games. Warcraft says "unable to connect to battle net". Medal of honor just crashes when I click "browse servers". Quake 3 says "no response from master server". Was working fine just a few days ago and the only change I can think that I made to my system was installing the OSX update. Could that be the problem? anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?

1. Click on the Go menu in the menu bar and select the Home menu item.
2. Open the Library folder.
3. Open the Preferences folder.
4. Look for and delete the Preferences file and the Battle.net file if it is there.
What ports do you have open in the Firewall and Router?
In order to connect to Battle.net and allow others to connect to you the following ports need to be opened:
Diablo: TCP and UDP Port 6112
StarCraft/Brood War: TCP and UDP Port 6112
Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition: TCP and UDP Port 6112
Diablo II/Lord of Destruction: TCP Port 6112 and Port 4000.
Warcraft III: TCP Ports 6112 to 6119, unless you have changed the default in the Options/Gameplay screen for port forwarding.
Some firewall programs have preset ports available in their configurations that are often necessary to be open. One in particular is a connection to your DNS server. This usually takes place on UDP port 53.

Once a week in IE Edit>Preferences, delet History, Empty Cache (if you have cable set Cache to 0).
Once a week Go into the system folder>preferences folder & trash the following preferences:
finder
ASLM
PPC Registration Database
Cache.waf-found inside the MS Internet Cache folder
MRJ Cache folder-a new one will be recreated.(If not found go to System folder>Application Support>MRJ Cache folder-trash all you find inside-(DO NOT TRASH THIS FOLDER)
Download Cache-found inside Explorer Folder
Downloads.html-found inside Explorer Folder
History.html-found inside Explorer Folder
Rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Use Techtool Lite or Trash*Desktop - may delete Finder comments to rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Does a better job than manually & you avoid all the finger gymnatics. You just have to hold down the shift key to shut off extensions.
Restart to turn the extensions back on again & empty the trash.

If the above does not work, then dump the %#&*X@ & check out other Mac browsers
iCab v3 is a pretty good online game playing browser. You do not have to do all the TLC stuff mentioned above for IE.
BTW: Which online gaming site are you having issues with? Post the link/url for OS 9.x users to test for you.

Open ports on new airport extreme to play online games

hey, i have the new airport extreme and i wanna play online games.
how do i open ports with the utily that came on disk.
i have no clue how to configure it.
i tried in bridge mode, but than the airport starts flashing amber and other users in house wanna surf on the net aswel.

Airport Utility -> Manual setup (Cmd+L)
Internet -> NAT
Enable a default host
Then in Internet -> DHCP
permanently assign the default host IP to the machine you're going to play the games on.
This is what other routers call the "DMZ" address. Be sure to run a firewall on that machine!

Flash Player having problems while playing online games on OS X Mavericks

i use mbp mid 2010 with os x mavericks 10.9.2 and while playing online games, it usually happens some freezes and delays. when i play same game with same browser on windows 7(bootcamp) there is no freeze and delay. i have made lots of search about this and made some optimizations on flash player settings but the problem continues. i use both chrome and firefox on both mavericks and win7 (bootcamp) but having the same problems on mavericks every time. the game is very slow with freeze and delays on mavericks. will adobe make a real effective upgrade about flash player for macs.

Hmmm... Win 7 will run faster than Mavericks with 8Gb. Even my Vm of 7 runs faster once I get it past all the startup processes.
It may or may not be a connectivity problen since Windows uses a different protocol, even though it's on the same hardware. Usually though, what affects OS X will affect BootCamp too.

I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes. There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only. They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel. Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine. Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well. The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box. All using the same hardware. but one at a time. I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to. (Which I don't) I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact. How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Am a newbie but somethings may work here, Go to dock preferences and to network and to your airport connection window.
You have a green light signal in network status window? If it is yellow or red it is unavailable. If your connection is full of traffic, this may effect connection.
In window you may need to type in optional search domains. Your provider should tell you this no one else~ They would also walk you through your connection failures. If it is yellow and you connect to your provider's router and don't have your own router, this number may not appear in your connection information. You need to tell them their router is down so they can fix it. They may not find out if pings come back. Pings may also be cached (I am not sure but it might) so it may take them a while to find out if you don't tell them. I would call your provider. Maybe empty your preferences in your browser. You may have cookies or garbage to empty there. Use another browser.

I was trying to play Online games such as MafiaWars, or other online multi player browser game. And with no results, on standard browser even page doesn't load, it does but i could seen just white screen.
Does any one have solve that problem?

I know that farmville could be played if you use Skyfire as your browser, but doing so would need hell of RAM management from you. Use of memcheck, KillMe, an ideal set of installed apps that will not eat RAM while running or installed, etc.

Safari not allowing me to play online games

Hey all so when i try to play online games from like adult swim or any website at all none of the controls work I can't click on anything when im in the window for the game and also safari freezes up my computer. i have downloaded all the latest software updates from windows and safari and yet nothing seems to be working. Help me out please..

Safari isn't preventing you from playing any game; the game developer is doing that by only coding for Windows IE. So until they change that, you should use IE to play games, or try using the Develop menu in Safari to choose IE 6 or 7 as the User Agent to see if they will run that way.

Cant play multiplayer games but ps4 has internet connection

My PS4 has a internet connection, sometime it works normal, i log in and can see my friend list, who is in a party chat but i cant join the party chat or make my own one.My playstation does sometimes let me got online for COD AW i cant join my friends or they join me, i play a few random games and then it freezes in game and tells me i am disconnected from servers? After that i cant log into cod anymore, the party chat is gone and wont load and my friends list but i still have internet on the ps4 i can use you tube and even browser but none of my online games work and none of my friends can see me online and my friend list wont load but i know the ps4 has a internet connection.my isp has been out and we have activated DMZ he has put in a DNS setting, the connection is type 2 and the down speed is near 4mb and upload speed is 2.5mb ( i only have a 4mb line at home). the isp guy who is a gamer has a ps3 and a xbox one on the same network and does not have any problems, we spend about 3 hours trying to look for a setting restarting and trying new DNS settings, i did get online for a bit but after about a hour i got kicked off cod aw again and could not get back online. my ping is never more then 68. the ISP guy cant understand how the internet works for you tube on the PS4 and to use the brouser on the ps4? but cant get online for games, also when i did get online i had a Moderate NAT and not open like he has with the DMZ setting in?is there anything we are missing to do?

Lagging when im playing online games

hi, i was wondering if there was anything that i could do or that would help me when im playing online on my xbox.
Everytime i try to play a game it lags and has been doing this for the past few months, it is occuring on fifa and currently on counter strike, im starting to get frustrated so i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me fix it or adjust it slightly so it wouldnt do it as much. When i play the games i have all the wifi devices in the house off (apart from my xbox) so i cant understand why it is doing it. many thanks mark

If it's saying that you need to close firefox before you can continue, do this:
# Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del
# Click Task Manager
# After this, you'll want to left click on the process which says "firefox.exe".
# You'll also want to close ANYTHING that says "plugin-container.exe", as this is what holds firefox's plug in's and is part of it.
If what you've said above is true and it's complaining that you need to close firefox first, then this is all you have to do.
Alternatively, if you can't find task manager, simply restart your computer; Firefox doesn't boot on start.
You can also make sure that ALL windows are closed from Firefox, including the download window. Any of the above should fix your problem.
I also noticed you stated you're using firefox 5.0. The most recent version is 6.0. You can go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ to download the newest version.
