Cant print from Word/Excel/Outlook to Onenote (Office 2010)

Have a weird problem. The problem started quite resently....for a lot of users in our domain!
As the title says I cant print from word/outlook/... to onenote.....the only thing i can print from is IE10 to onenote (all other printers work ofc pdf/physical and so on). But if someone has IE8 I doesn't work for them either...
I have the printer under "printers and fax" so its not "gone"....I have tried to repair Office 2010+reboot with no success. AND i have the XPS document Writer present/working aswell.
When i try to print i can see the "printing-icon" in the lower wright corner, so something is obviously "happening"....but if i put my marker there it only says "0 printing jobs for %username%"....and yes i'm currently sitting
in a domain, i'm admin at my computer to(Windows 7 Enterprise).
I'v tried almost everything i could find i terms of repairing and checking the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Ski&cka till OneNote registry key (but that's for IE...and that's working correctly).
Now here's the fun part....if i run winword.exe as administrator (rightclick+Run as administrator) it works!
But that's not a solid workaround....
Anyone knows how to fix this? And as i'v explained...tried to repair several times....restarted services....check so XPS function is enabled and so on and so on...

According to your description, I selected the situations which your said above.
1. A lot of Domain account could print from is IE10 to Onenote, but IE 8 not.
2.When Domain account print to Onenote, but it hanged.
3. Word works well if runned as administrator.
From above, I think the printer setting was Ok, beacuse you could print something by using Onenote to physical printer.
As far as I know, OneNote stores a raster and a vector format for the printout images. It will first load the raster image (quicker to load) then quickly switch to vector image (hi res/sharper). The image you see for a split second is the raster
image and then vector format fails to render. I believe you did not lose any data, just that it fails to render due to a configuration issue.
OneNote uses .NET to render the vector format and I have seen cases where the installed .NET version or not installed .NET updates would be a problem. I recommend you first make sure you have
Win7 SP1 and Office and .NET updates that show up in Windows Update are all installed and retry after that.

If the issue exists, Please use process monitor to selcet the log when the issue occurs.

Just as the title says. my dads printer prints everything from websites or email but it wont print from a word document. you press print and the little printer setup doesnt pop up. even if i try to print from his Mini to my wireless printer it doesnt work...anybody know why?

Well, if it really is Word v.X, then we can rule out Classic as the origin of your problem. Since it's a G4, we can rule out Rosetta emulation as well.
Unfortunately, I'm not a Word/Ms Office expert, since I use NeoOffice, and I'm not a specialist of priting issues either, so you'll probably have to wait for someone who is more knowledgeable than myself in these areas.
In the meantime, are you sure you have the latest version of Office X ? If you're not sure, you can find updates on Microsoft's website.

Cant print from Outlook 2003 or IS 11

Hi, a a few things i would look into on this one. Firstly have a quick look in event viewer and your AV logs to see if any further information can be found. Lastly have a look into anything that could have been installed or updated (Even the widows updates you mention) as one of these may be the cause of blocking the print process. i would advise looking into AV also on this.

In the last few days I can no longer print from Outlook 2003 or IE 11. I could before and I can still from Word, Excel etc. In both Outlook & IE, when I push Print, the print dialog comes up, my printer is recognized, I can access its features, but when I press Print, nothing goes into the print que. I have Windows 7 and have just updated and have restarted and cold started.
Any Ideas?

I have just installed my new HP Office Jet Pro 8600 and I am unable to print from EXCEL...Can anyone advise please?

Yes, the error message I receive is "current printer is unavailable. Select another printer". This error message is shown when I try to print a excel or a PDF file. However, I have no issues printing from Word, or the web. Also, I have a second computer signed on from a wireless network, and it can print everything without an issue.
What options do you get when you try to print from Excel?
It gives me the option to use "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" or "Quickbooks PDF converter". However, neither of these options allow me to print.

Yes, Microsoft Word.

The printer was originally a wireless connection when the problem occurred. I then switched to a USB connection, with the same results. I then tried an Ethernet wired connection, but no change. Currently, we are on a USB wired connection.

The printer was installed by a CD. It is unclear to me whether or not it is basic or full, I just popped in the disc the printer came with. It installed version 24.2.0
We recently purchased this printer in order to replace our old printer for office use. The old printer has incredibly slow, and sometimes did not print things. We first set up the new computer (HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a), and added it to our wireless network. We then added it to our main computer, and the printer would not print from excel. However, we found we were able to print things without an issue from our second computer once it was added.
We have tried rebooting, reinstalling, using every form of connection, without progress.

SInce you seem to be asking everybody, I don't recommend any particular one over the other. I have both installed on this computer along with VirusBarrier X5 and MacScan. I don't currently use any of them routinely, but they are here if I should ever need them. Real-time scanning is turned off, but I keep all but VB up-to-date (my VB subscription expired a few years ago).

The startup drive is failing, or there is some other internal hardware fault.
Back up all data on the drive immediately if you don't already have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Sometimes I get an “Unable to Connect” error and sometimes I get “1 document in printer queue”. No matter what printer I choose after I try to go to Adobe, I cannot connect to a printer. The only solution I have come up with is a clean reboot which I can't afford to do 4-5 times a day.

The first step I would try is delete the Adobe pdf printer and then repair Acrobat.
Repairing Acrobat will bring back the pdf printer. We released an update yesterday i.e. 11.0.10. try updating to the latest version and check.
Have you tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it.
You might also want to check the performance in a new admin user account.

If you are on Windows, you can download and install the CreatePDF Desktop Printer, which would allow you to "print" to PDF from Word. You'll find a link to the installer on the CreatePDF page at https://cloud.acrobat.com. Here are the instructions for installing it: Using Adobe PDF Pack

I'm getting # marks when printing from Word to .pdf; what's going on?

I recently reinstalled OS and all software, including Acrobat 9. (No virus, just like to freshen things up on the system.) Now, when I print from Word to a .pdf file, I get # marks inserted near header and footer. This never happened before. I unchecked the box (under properties) that says, "rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" and that made them go away, but I never had to mess with that previously. Is that, in fact, the solotion, or is there something else going on that needs to be corrected?

The check box was checked by default. I made no revisions to the settings after reinstalling Adobe.
As noted, this had never happened before. The document was a letter with a letterhead graphic inserted (.png I believe). When I pulled up various old letters I prepared using the letterhead template or even the blank letterhead template itself and printed to .pdf, the # marks showed up, whereas that had never happened previously. Again, though, I made no changes to the default settings, so I'm wondering whether unchecking the check box really did take care of the problem or is just "masking" or "hiding" some other issue.

Planning on a move to Mac and want all my cards in order before I venture to my local Apple store.
My new purchase will be mainly for my personal use (90% of the time), - but - if I need to open/create Word/Excel docs and Outlook email with my Windows users in the office we need to communicate comfortably.
My question is (since I never used the Mac)---
What software that comes with a Mac can be used to create/save/open ---
Word
Excel
Outlook
Are there any knows issues with the Mac versions communicating with the MS versions, or would I be better off with Office 94 ? I thought if I can use what came with the system - why not, save some $$

TextEdit, which is the built-in text editor in Mac OS X (similar to Wordpad in Windows) will open and save .doc files, but I don't think it'll handle anything too complex. AppleWorks, which comes with iMacs, iBooks and I think Mac minis will also open Office files. You can download OpenOffice and/or NeoOffice/J, both of which are free and will open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. They're quite good for compatibility, but still have minor problems now and then.
However, I have to agree that if you expect to be dealing with MS Office files a lot, you should just buy the Mac version of Office. In contrast to my opinion of most MS products, I think Office:Mac is actually quite well done.
With regards to Outlook files, I'm not sure what you mean. I've never used Outlook, but I was under the impression that it was an email and calendar program, and had assumed that it didn't really deal with files. Mac OS X comes with Mail which is a solid email client, and iCal and Address Book for calendar and contact information. If you need Exchange support, I think your only option is MS Office, which includes Entourage. Entourage is the Mac equivalent for Outlook.

Printing from Word and PowerPoint - instant crash

Whenever I opt to print from Word or PowerPoint, the application crashes straight away. I've tried Microsoft Autoupdate, but it says I have all the updates for the time being.

I am printing to a HP Color LaserJet 2600n networked printer. I updated my drivers. The printer prints from Apple applications just fine (iWork, Safari, Preview, Mail) it prints from Word after the MS update was installed. Does not print from PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Canvas version 8 or version X.
PS The firmware update for the Printer won't run because it doesn't recognize OS X 10.5.x
Other Problem. I can't stay connect to my Air Port extreme that has a Terra Byte connected to it. I regularly (every other day) have to reset it get connected. It used to work fine under Tiger Just an additional gripe

Ah! You're creating a PDF out of Word through Acrobat. The cutoff is most likely being affected by the printer chosen.
When you call up the print dialogue in Word, check to see what printer is being used. If it's a typical inkjet printer, Acrobat is using the print margins of that printer as the cutoff area. Since most such printers can't print to the last inch and half or so of the paper, that's where it would be cut off.
Near the bottom, under the preview of the document, click on the Page Setup button. It doesn't really matter which printer you select here. Under Paper Size, choose Manage Custom Sizes. Under the Non-Printable Area heading, choose the same printer and set the paper size you're using.
Note that the unprintable margins for that printer will be filled in automatically. That's what's being cut off. Click the + button to create a modified version. The default will be "Untitled". Give it a new name if you want. Then set all of the margins to zero. Click OK. Now you'll have that as a choice under Paper Size. Doesn't matter that the actual printer can't use this setting since you're going to a PDF. Click OK to get back to the main Word print dialogue.
Now choose Save as Adobe PDF. It should give you an exact duplicate of what's on screen in Word since as far as Acrobat is concerned, your "printer" has no unprintable margins.

HP Envy 5530 Always offline when attempting to print from WORD 2013

My ENVY 5530 always appears offline when I'm trying to print from WORD 2013. HP SCAN DOCTOR doesn't help. I always need first to RESTART MY LAPTOP while my PRINTER IS ON. AFTER RESTARTING that will be the time the printer will appear ONLINE in my WORD 2013.
Being this case. I've noticed that I SHOULD FIRST TURN ON MY PRINTER before TURNING ON MY LAPTOP so my printer will appear ONLINE in word 2013. Using this workaround is inconvenient for me. And also when I am able to print from WORD 2013 IT DOESN'T PRINT ALL PAGES.. Please help. This printer should be helpful instead it was a disaster. Not really convenient.

Thanks for letting me know the printer isn't going offline now Envy5530User. But you are still unable to print a multiple page document though.
Can you print multiple page documents from other applications, or are you just having this issue with Office 365?
If the issue is just with Office 365, it might be a setting in the application. I would contact Microsoft for further assistance.
Please take a look at this document from my co-worker if you are having this issue with all applications. Missing or partial print issues on Windows 8 / 8.1.
If the issue persists, following the steps in this document for Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue.
