Cant print iphoto no available themes

I cant print from iphoto. Getting no available themes????
Help please

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Can't print in iPhoto. Message says no available themes

Trying to print i iphoto when no themes available comes up.No idea what to do...

You'll have to resintall iPhoto.  If you Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled go to the App Store, sign in with the Apple ID and password used to purchase or register the iMac, go to Purchases and redownload and install iPhoto.
If your Mac came with Snow Leopard or earlier preinstalled use the disks that came with your Mac or an iLife3 to reinstall iPhoto and then update thru Software Updater.

  • Please help!  iPhoto - Cannot Create Calendar - "No Available Themes"

I recently had to reinstall my system software from the Install DVD after my new MacBook got into a perpetual restart loop. As part of the system installation I opted to keep my old system in the "Previous System" archive. I then copied my old iPhoto library into my new system, which worked fine to keep all my photos. However I can no longer create a calendar or print book.
When I click on the Calendar or a Photo Book the following error message appears: "No Available Themes. There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable."
I have searched but cannot locate any files that would seem to constitute the iPhoto print product themes. I have tried updating iPhoto from the .pkg on Apple Donwloads, but with no success. I have tried using the Application Install DVD which I got with the MacBook but for some reason iPhoto is greyed out in the Customise Installation list, as if unavailable for direct installation.
Would someone be able to help me as soon as possible with the following:
    - Where should the calendar/print book themes be kept?
    - Does anyone have a source for me to download (for iPhoto 7.1.5)
    - Do I need to uninstall iPhoto, and if so how do I do this?
    - If I do uninstall iPhoto will I lose precious items such as photos, event details, etc.? And how would I reinstall it given it is greyed out on the Applications Install disk?
    - I have seen a reference here to 'deleting receipts' but I would need instructions on what to do if this is the solution.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

  • Can't print: "No Available Themes"

Using iPhoto 7.1.3 and OS 10.5.2, when I try to print a photo, I get an alert saying:
"No Available Themes - There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable."
This isn't a book or a card. I'm just trying to print a photo.
    what are they talking about?
Where does one get a theme?
    TIA
    Chris

As an addendum to my post that Terence linked you to:

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Upgraded to Yosemite and cant open iPhoto!  Saw an update for app but it won't let me; says not available for this AppleID because it was bought by a diff user or item was refunded.   Not so. What now?

UPgraded to Yosemite and now I cant open iPhoto.  App says it needs to be updated but yet I cant udate cause it says update not available for this ID cause it was bought by another user (I only have 1 Apple Id) or item was refunded or cancelled.  ANY IDEAS?  Thnx!

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept it and the other iLife/iWork applications into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
    3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
    4. Buy them.

  • IPhoto 11 No Available Themes

    Hi,
I'm currently having issues trying to print photos via iPhoto, where I am constantly prompted 'No Available Themes'.  I've followed numerous suggestions (i.e. removing iPhoto, receipts, themes folders, along with a fresh installation of iPhoto) which have failed to work.  Can anyone shed any light on this problem I am having this issue on over 20+ MacBook Pro laptops.  I've also tried doing Disk Permission Repairs and running software updates.
Any help will be much appreciated,
    Tony

Well one reason it is "never as easy as you guys list it out" is that your problem is totally different from the thread you posted in and none of the advice in this thread applies to your problem - it is best to start new threads for new problems
What version of iPhoto do you have?
Yes you have a mess and you do not describe it clearly
It sounds like for some reason you have put iPhoto libraries into your applications folder - this is not  a good idea as it is confusing (to you and to us) - the iPhoto library is by default in the pictures folder and I suggest you start by making sure the iPhoto application is in the applications folder exactly as it was originally installed and that all of the iPhoto libraries yo have are in the pictures folder
5 usual palm tree pic app but it has a camera also in the icon "iphoto.app" is name
That is your iPhoto application and should be left alone
3 usual palm tree pic icon "iphoto library" is name
4 palm tree pic icon "iphoto library copy" name
Those are iPhoto libraries and should be in your pictures folder
    1. the usual app pic of like a palm tree on a beech pic with like 2 other pictures behind it ( like a stack of 3 pic's ) & it is "cimg0228" as a name.
    2 exec. file  & os.sys is name
I have no idea what these are - for now I would drag them to the desktop
Then depress the option key and launch iPhoto - use the select library window to select an iPhoto library and see what it is - repeat for each iPhoto library that you find in the select library window and make a decision as to which one (or ones) you want to keep
Each time you select one it becomes the default iPhoto library and will be the one opened when you launch iPhoto until you do another option launch

    Restoring iPhoto 9 (11) Themes
First look in your HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there move it to the Trash. Also look in your Home/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder.  If there is one move it to the Trash.  Reinstall iPhoto as described below:
1 - delete the current application.
2 -files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
3 - mount the disk that iPhoto 11 came on, either an iLife 11 disc or the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
If iPhoto 11 came with the computer then double click on the "Install Bundled Software Only" file and do a custom install.
Apply all of the latest iPhoto 9 (11) updates followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime version.
