Cant receive/send message from certain group anymo...
I'm using the linux client version 4.3.0.37 on a 32 bit Linux
using the button "check for last version" tells me i'm using the latest version
all of sudden yesterday I stopped being able to receive/send message from most of my groups anymore
I've seen this post reporting a similar problem
it seems the groups affected are recent ones which got their names starting with "19:xxxxx" when i run the command "/get name"
I've reinstalled my skype on a completly new machine (still on linux) and get exactly the same problem, however while skype sync all the messages it retrieves also the message I was not able to see. but after the sync is done, new messages are again not coming in.
Is that a known issue with a workaround ?

Call your carrier, or have him call his.
Lastly, when you are actually NEXT TO HIM, try texting him and see if it works. Maybe he is just ignoring you.

Yes, your iMessage is not activated yet. Turn it off, wait a short period and turn it back on. You should wait 24 hours before getting overly concerned about it still waiting for activation. Check this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 after owning an iPhone 4s. All my contacts transferred but now I can't receive text messages from iPhone users to my android device. I read that I have to make sure that my Apple id is totally deleted. How do I do that?

If you log into your account at your providers webmail page are the missing messages in the inbox there? Thunderbird downloads messages form your inbox on your providers server. If the messages do not make it into your server inbox Thnuderbird can do nothing about that.
Check the Spam folder on the server. Maybe your provider is filtering the missing messages into that folder. -

Speak with an AppleCare advisor either over the phone or by chat.
They will remove your phone number from the iMessage system. That's it! Otherwise after 45 days your phone nymber will automatically be removed from the system. Now or later, it's your choice.

Why can't I receive text messages from certain phone numbers?
I cannot receive a text message from one particular number. We have both checked our phones to make sure we had not blocked each other, which we didn't. She also is a verizon customer but has an android while I have the iphone. She can receive my texts but I cannot receive her reply.
Hi Coggin. Sounds like you and your friend started in the right direction to find out why her messages aren't getting to you. Budone has a great suggestion to make sure she doesn't have your number stored with a 1 in front. That can actually cause the Android phone to have trouble sending the message to your number correctly. Since you are able to send with everyone including her and she is having trouble sending to you, that tells me it's more likely something we need to look at on her end. Is she getting any error message? Are you the only one she has trouble sending to? Has she ever been able to send you a text before? If she has, when's the last time it worked? Is she using any third party messaging applications from the market? I know that's a lot of questions, but they'll help me get you up and running with the answers.

I have two contacts groups but when i send a email to one of them I receive the seme message for all addreses:

The smtp configuration it's ok because the other group could be sending without problems.
ThanksHaving the same problem, but in addition, I also get a warning message next to the account in the list of accounts under Inbox (I have several; the icon is a triangle inside a circle).
Out of 10 emails accounts checking, a bunch will randomly be unable to connect to the server. I have a solid internet connection, so thats not the problem.

I've restarted several times. If I restore from backup, unfortunately the backup was done after iOS7 downloaded. Now, am I wrong that "restore as new" will essentially wipe me out? If so, and having backup, you're saying essentially start over and then backup?

I did speak a bit too soon it seems - while I can now send messages again from my iPad 2, it still doesn't show me messages that were sent to me via my telephone number. Which is weird, because in the "You can be reached by iMessage at:" setting I do have my telephone number checked.
At this moment I have set my iPad 2 and iPhone 4's "Start new conversations from:" setting to my Apple ID e-mail address. This way at least I can send messages *and* receive messages if people don't use my telephone number to send me messages...
So yes, you should probably wait a while before restoring your iPad 2 - it doesn't fix things completely. -
HELP ... Not receiving email messages from particular Yahoo Group
Ever since the evening of 3/26 every member of my Yahoo Group with an email address from Comcast.net has not been able to reliably receive messages from the group. Out of over 40 emails since then, we've received 4 (2 on 4/1 and 2 this morning). There are no error messages involved, there are just no emails in our inboxes. Yahoo does not indicate that any of the messages have "bounced". The messages are not in my spam folder (in fact, the first Comcast "helper" i worked with had me turn off the spam filter in Comcast,net) Oddly, I (and the others) can receive messages from other Yahoo Groups that we are members of, just not ours: SoundOfNewEngland I was on the phone with Comcast for 2.5 HOURS on 4/3 and was basically told that since I could receive a test message from Comcast that the error must be with Yahoo! After contacting Yahoo, I was told that since others in the group can receive the messages, that the error must be with Comcast. <sigh> The last email I got from Yahoo said that Comcast would need to add Yahoo info into the Comcast whitelist. I told this to a Comcast technician during a help chat on 4/5 ... and she told me to fill out this form: http://www.comcastsupport.com/sdcxuser/asp/comcast_blockedprovider.asp I did that even tho the issue is that the Yahoo Group's messages were being blocked and I didn't have an IP address for those, but I could provide the domain name: yahoogroups.com I tried to put the info that Yahoo Groups gave me for the whitelist, but the description is limited to 1024 characters Needless to say, I have not received a resonse from Comcast within 24 hours of posting the form Here is the info from Yahoo!: "Since you have already reviewed your settings, and confirmed that the emails are not landing in your spam folder, you will need to follow up with your email provider again, since it appears that they are dropping emails from the group. I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive) other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before. Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?jsavage9621,
