Cant receive sms, need to change settings

Hi,
I have received a Firefox Os phone from geeksphone. Seems pretty good, but it freaked me out today. I realized that I am unable to receive sms. I cant even receive from myself, or gmail(2-step authentication). I have never experienced such problems with othe devices from this office.
I need to check the sms settings on the phone but cant find them. Can you help me please or provide any hints?

I cant receive sms. When this first happened, I tried to reset my phone and it worked. But after a few days, I cant receive sms again. I tried to transfer my sim card to a different device and I was able to receive sms there.

I'm using a TravelSIM to make calls home to Australia on my iPhone 4S while I'm overseas. Do I need to change settings, or do anything else, to make sure I don't pay too much? eg turn off push data - what else?

I have advice to turn off push data and don't use Google maps

It's not entirely impossible actually as someone has pointed out to me that I can turn on Call Forwarding and that stops any incoming calls. I've just forwarded it to my google voice number and then turned on "do not disturb" in google voice and whenever I get a call it goes straight to my google voice voicemail and my phone does nothing. The only thing now is I still get text messages but I think the phone calls bugged me more because they would make my music turn off for much longer.
Even though this isn't a perfect solution it's something so far so maybe you shouldn't just come out and say there's NOTHING I can do because so far I've found part of a solution. If you don't have anyting productive to say then just don't reply and close the tab. Thanks.
At this point I'm wondering if anyone knows of any Jailbreak tweaks that can enable what I want. Unless of course it's agaisnt the rules of this forum to mention jailbreak stuff...

I recorded 24 bit audio. need to change settings to 24 bitrate

I recorded 24 bit and it sounds terrible. I'm assuming I need to change the bitrate to 24 in FCP. How do I do that. Footage is from
Red One Camera but I'm not importing footage yet. I'm just checking the sound files and they sound terrible.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

i have a blackberry storm 2 and i can send sms messages but i cant receive them. this phone is new to me and i've been through almost everything that i could think of but still cant figure out why i am not receiving any messages. please help!!!

Text messaging is my favorite form of wireless communication! It’s SUPER convenient to send a text to convey a message when I am not able to speak. I’m sure that you understand the convenience that text messaging provides in today’s wireless world. May I ask how much memory do you have on the Storm 2? In most cases, the text functionality may become limited due to lack of memory. I would suggest erasing all of your old text message threads and other media, reboot the device, and retest. Of course this step is in addition to what SuzyQ recommended, thanks SuzyQ!
Since we are on the subject, I would suggest erasing any unused media. Some examples are old pictures, the sample video, and any unused apps. Once you have tested the text messaging service, please advise if the issue is resolved as I am eager to know the outcome.

Cant Receive SMS Txts

Ok heres the deal, i can receive txts from att friends, but when i try to txt my new phone with my old phone which is still active it doesnt go through at all. I can receive pic message but not a reg message at all. Ive tried everyhting i could, took battery out with phone on, and off. looked through all the options to see if i missed something and i come up empty handed. If anyone has advice or should i just call support on this that would be great to hear from someone. My txts do go through to the other people, but when they send me a txt back it doesnt come through at all.

try to check your sms center number.. you may call your network provider for the sms center number...
you could also perform soft reset *#7780* to restore your original settings.

I am having trouble connecting to my wireless internet. I keep getting message that my network configuration settings have changed. Ive been advised that i need to change settings to look for dynamic ip address ?

I have reported it to my provider who advised that they think the Mac is looking for a fixed IP address and they use dynamic addresses. This could be a problem with the server's configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

How did you send the SMS? Are you sure is was sent with the correct port number?
Also, this is to some extent operator dependent. Some mobile services strip port numbers from SMS received from other services.

I need help changing settings (port forward?) after a physical server move

Hi! I have a 10.6 server that I use at home. All is well and good there. The Airport Extreme assigns IP addresses for the network. I have www.mydomain.com that runs on the server -- I use it for testing web apps, etc. I use DynDNS with their client app that send the Comcast dynamic IP address back to DynDNS to keep the server on the grid.
My friend has a 10.6 server. He has www.hisdomain.com as a home business. He also uses DynDNS in a similar way. His landlord just informed him that his apartment is going to be sold from underneath him and he has to move ASAP. It looks like he won't have a permanent place for a month or two, so I offered to let him keep his server at my place.
We both run websites on port 443 and port 80.
After attaching his server to my network, his domain name updates, but typing www.hisdomain.com into a browser lands me on www.mydomain.com. I guess that the problem is port forwarding... the router sends all 443 and 80 requests to my server.
How do I configure this so that services for hisdomain.com are forwarded to his server while services for mydomain.com are forwarded to my server?

Short answer: you can't, although there are a couple of ways to sort-of kluge it.
Long answer: When your router gets an incoming connection, the only thing it has to go on is the IP address and port number (the domain name is sent much later, after TCP session with the server is established). So unless you have multiple public IP addresses (and a router that can handle them), or want to put the sites on different ports...
Speaking of which, here's kluge #1: run his server on different ports (e.g. 81 and 444, or maybe 8080 and 8043) and set the router to forward them to his server. Problem: the user has to include the port number in the URL when they connect, or they'll get your server.
Partial solution (and kluge #2): add a virtual site on your server, with the hostname www.hisdomain.com, go to its Aliases section, and add a rule in the URL Aliases & Redirects section, with these settings:
Type: RedirectMatch
Pattern: (.*)$
Path: http://www.hisdomain.com:81$1
Then build an SSL version that redirects to https://www.hisdomain.com:444$1. Problem: when the client connects, they'll get your SSL certificate instead of his (again, it happens before the client sends the domain name it's trying to reach), and get a cert error. No fix for this.
Kluge #3: instead of making the virtual site redirect clients to his server, add a reverse proxy so your server'll transparently forward requests to his server, and proxy the replies. I haven't done this, but I think what you need to do is make a virtual site (as above), and under its Proxy tab (the one under the virtual site, not the one under the Settings section), check the Enable Reverse Proxy box, leave the Proxy Path as "/" and the Sticky Session Identifier field blank, and add a Balancer member with the Server URL "http://hisinternalipaddress" and a blank Route. Or something like that. Again, you could do the same for https as well, but you'll have the same certificate problem.

Everything won't fit on the disk...do I need to change settings?

I am working on a project that I edited in FCP 5.0 that is approx. 2 hrs long. I would like that video plus a 40 picture slideshow and a scene selection on a DVD. I have done this before and it has fit on a single non dual layer disk.
When exporting from FCP I use "Quicktime Conversion". Should I use "Quicktime Movie"?
I would like it to be fairly high quality like the last time I did this without using a DL disk.

first off, the maximum amount of video (incl. slideshow and DVD menu) for an SL DVD is two hours, so wether you will be able to fit in everything will depend on the overall length of everything.
When exporting from FCP you should generally export as QT movie and not use the QT Conversion option, as this usually degrades the video somewhat (even if the export settings match the sequence settings).
Question here: if you're using FCP, why don't you create the DVD using DVDSP/Compressor? The output quality will surely surpass that of iDVD.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
