Cant Receive SMS Txts

Ok heres the deal, i can receive txts from att friends, but when i try to txt my new phone with my old phone which is still active it doesnt go through at all. I can receive pic message but not a reg message at all. Ive tried everyhting i could, took battery out with phone on, and off. looked through all the options to see if i missed something and i come up empty handed. If anyone has advice or should i just call support on this that would be great to hear from someone. My txts do go through to the other people, but when they send me a txt back it doesnt come through at all.

try to check your sms center number.. you may call your network provider for the sms center number...
you could also perform soft reset *#7780* to restore your original settings.

Cant receive sms, need to change settings

Hi,
I have received a Firefox Os phone from geeksphone. Seems pretty good, but it freaked me out today. I realized that I am unable to receive sms. I cant even receive from myself, or gmail(2-step authentication). I have never experienced such problems with othe devices from this office.
I need to check the sms settings on the phone but cant find them. Can you help me please or provide any hints?

i have a blackberry storm 2 and i can send sms messages but i cant receive them. this phone is new to me and i've been through almost everything that i could think of but still cant figure out why i am not receiving any messages. please help!!!

Text messaging is my favorite form of wireless communication! It’s SUPER convenient to send a text to convey a message when I am not able to speak. I’m sure that you understand the convenience that text messaging provides in today’s wireless world. May I ask how much memory do you have on the Storm 2? In most cases, the text functionality may become limited due to lack of memory. I would suggest erasing all of your old text message threads and other media, reboot the device, and retest. Of course this step is in addition to what SuzyQ recommended, thanks SuzyQ!
Since we are on the subject, I would suggest erasing any unused media. Some examples are old pictures, the sample video, and any unused apps. Once you have tested the text messaging service, please advise if the issue is resolved as I am eager to know the outcome.

Cant receive sms using a midlet

I ve developed an application to read an sms on port 50000 .There are no errors in it also it just keeps on listening..
But the sms directly goes to inbox ..I am unable to read the sms..can anyone help me ..

How did you send the SMS? Are you sure is was sent with the correct port number?
Also, this is to some extent operator dependent. Some mobile services strip port numbers from SMS received from other services.

I recently upgraded to os x Yosemite with let you send sms green bubble messages on my mac bookpro. The only thing that i have done was shut off iMessages on my phone. I then realized i could on longer send messages from my mac book so i turned iMessages back on, and now i can only send iMessages not sms green bubbles. Can anybody help?

If, on your iPhone, you go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, is your MacBook Pro listed? I don't know, but it's possible it gets turned back off when iMessage is turned off.

Not receiving all SMS txt messages from other carriers

I've noticed that i'm not receiving some txt messages from what appears to be Verizon customers.... it happens during pockets of time. I have not been able to track the exact timeframes. is anyone else having sporadic issues receiving SMS from other carriers? i know of atleast 3 friends that have replied to messages from me that i never received the response.

I'm curious. Did you port your number from Verizon when you activated the iphone? I was having the same problem with not being able to receive text messages from my Verizon friends. It turns out Verizon didn't completely disable my number on their end even though the phone number was ported. It took someone from technical support at AT&T to call Verizon while was on the phone and explain the problem to Verizon. Verizon then disconnected my number on its end and it wasn't until then that I started receiving text messages from Verizon users.

I don't have a 3G so i use Sms/Mms messaging when i have wifi. My co'iphone users receive my text messages but i cant receive theirs because it sends as an imessage. HELP thanks

I Don't have a 3G on my iphone 4. So when i dont have a wifi, i send text through SMS/MMS messaging. I can receive and send SMS/MMS messages to non iphone users. The only way to get around that, since you do not have a data plan, is to completely disable iMessage. While you can turn on the switch for Send As SMS on, which could send your messages as SMS when not connected to Wi-Fi and data is not turned on, it could also find your messages lost in the server and never delivered. Also, anyone sending to you would have to be set up the same way. You can check out this support document for deactivating iMessage. iOS: Deactivating iMessage
iMessage requires an active data connection for both the sender and receiver to work properly.

Not receiving sms texts and cant open BBM messages!!! PLEASE HELP

I am not receiving SMS texts although I know people have been sending them to me. I've had friends text me to see and they dont come through. I am also receiving BBM messages but cannot open them in my messenger! I really only communicate via these two means and really need help! I hate the people at the Sprint store and DO NOT want to have to go there...again.

Follow this article: iOS: Deactivating iMessage - Support - Apple
If that doesn't work, contact Apple Support who can revoke the iMessage/Facetime certificate from association to your phone number.
Also:
1) Go to www.icloud.com and remove the device from Find My iPhone.
2) Go to appleid.apple.com and change the primary email address of your Apple ID to something different (per Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID).
3) Also at appleid.apple.com, change the password to your Apple ID (per Apple ID: Changing your password).
4) Have any iPhone user attempting to send you a text message do the following:
4a) Verify that in Settings > Messages that if iMessage is turned on to ensure that ‘Send as SMS’ is also turned on.
4b) Delete the existing message thread, if any.
4c) Delete your contact and readd, using only the phone number (no email).
4d) Attempt to send a new text message to you.

Cant recieve sms picture mail

i just updated my 3g with the 4.2 update, and i can still send pictures by sms but i can't recieve them anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I can send sms/text from my skype program on my laptop to my contacts cell phone but can't receive sms back to my skype program from the person I sent the text to. Even when I have had a skype phone number I was told that skype is just not set up to receive sms back into the program.
I have a skype phone number which I use for voice calls in and out, but sms cant be sent to this number as yet. Its being worked on i was told but how long before this feature is available ??

8520 SMS TXT PROBLEMS

Some SMS TXT messages I receive seem to disappear when I try to reply.
Once this happens I cannot open the TXT messages from that sender.
I have to remove the battery to reboot the phone and then I can open the messages.
Can someone help ?

Delete old SMS. Maybe its to many SMS on your inbox.

I previously had a iphone 4s and iphone 5. Set up my phone as a brand new phone and I cant receive any texts from any of my friends that have android or nokia users and cant receive pictures from them also. Its very frustrating...does anyone have any fixes of solutions to this???

SMS is a carrier feature. Start by contacting your carrier and making sure your account is properly configured. Even if it was before, sometimes changing phones causes glitches.
