Cant Redeem Mountain Lion Invalid Code.

I just got a code from apple in my email and from the pdf. I tried to redeem it by following the steps but it does not work it says code is not valid.. why is that?

I have the same problem.... I have entered my content code into redeem and keeps coming back invalid, both with and without hyphens. I have enetered my reference number into redeem also with and without.... AND I have entered both numbers into the password protected  PDF file that was sent in my first email. I have ALSO entered my password for itunes also.

Correction- you have to put the content code into the PDF file Apple sent you as the password to open the PDF then the redemption code is shown.

  • Cant download Mountain Lion, I get an error every time

I have a 2012 mac book pro 13 inch model and I cant get mountain lion to download, It keeps coming up with an error. What am i not doing right, its a brand new computer and I shouldnt be having this trouble. the operating system is 10.7.4 currently.

Helps to tell us what the error said...
Try here >  Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
Might need to temporarily disable anti virus software.
FYI, third party download managers may cause issues when downloading apps including Mountain Lion.
Apps such as Net Nanny, Hands Off, and LIttle Snitch can prevent apps from downloading.
Make sure you are using the same Apple ID associated with your Mac.
Make sure you have the correct App Store country selected. Check the round flag icon bottom right corner of the App Store.

Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this entire command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
         sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
         /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

  • How long after submitting the serial number does it take to receive your Mountain Lion download code?

I bought my new MacBook Air on July 19 and received it on 26 and on that day I followed the steps to apply for the up-to-date program for Mountain Lion.
I finished the process and got to the final page, where upon successful completion of the forms you receive a reference code. I left that page for a few minutes and went back to copy and write down the code but the page had incurred an error and when I tried to refresh I was sent back to the start of the application process.
After completing the same steps, I got to the serial number input window and clicked 'submit' but alas, it stated that 'This is an already claimed serial number.' as I had previously entered it on my first attempt.
Anyway, I didn't receive any kind of confirmation email for my application and as I have mentioned, there is no way for me to recover my reference number for the first time I filled out the form.
Has anyone else had this same issue and/or not received a confirmation email for their successful submissions and how long does it generally take to receive the Mountain Lion redemption code email from Apple?
    Thanks.

  • HT1338 when can I expect to get my mountain lion redemption code??

  • I haven't received my mountain lion redemption code

I have been waiting for 2 hours and haven't recieved my mountain lion redemption code.

Just called Apple Australia, was told it will take 72 hours (that's 3 days) to get code. Glad I bought a new Air, thought I would be able to use ML on the day of release, but clearly that's not going to happen!
So people with older machines ineligible for Up to Date program get to play with ML before people who just spent $$ to get latest versions? Doesn't seem to be particularly balanced approach to me!!!
Shambolic, and clearly not thought out by Apple.  How hard would it have been to apply for redemption code AHEAD of the release, so that the code was ready to use on the day of release? Its NOT rocket science!
    MAJOR thumbs down.

I buy iTunes card and when to try redeem its say invalid code and it's my first time to use prepaid iTunes card

Make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. For more information, see this support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1292
If you can't get to work after perusing that page, contact the iTunes Store Support; instructions are at the bottom of that article.

  • How to retrieve Mountain Lion Upgrade codes ?

I requested my Mountain Lion Upgrade codes on the 26/7 for a Mac Book Pro, and Macbook Air I purchased 2 days before. I received a Claim reference but nothing else since. No emails, nothing. Can I use the claim reference to download the upgrade codes ? If not, how do I retrieve my upgrade codes ?

Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Mountain Lion content code?

I signed up for the Up To Date program and received a password for a "Mountain Lion content code" file but I never received that file. I emailed [email protected] but no response yet. Has this happened to anyone else?
    --- Mike.

I still got no code.  So in the meantime, I'm checking into program compatibility with Mountain Lion.  So far, everything is looking better than expected.  Adobe seems golden.  Avid has only two minor issues that shouldn't affect me.  And no big problems with Microsoft Office reported either.  All the reviews of the OS seem very positive so far, so I'm thinking of being an early adopter, even though I might regret it.
I guess, now that I think about it, maybe it's for my own good that they hold off on sending me a code!  Haha...    Maybe they'll force me to wait a week or two until the big bugs are discovered and hopefully ironed out...
