Cant Rename iPod

can anyone help me...
i know how to rename my iPod in iTunes by selecting the name and changing it then pressing enter.
after i press enter it says updating iPod for a minute, then says i can disconnect, the name has changed in iTunes but next time i reconnect my iPod the name hasent changed.
My iPod dosent re-sync for the name update.
can anyone help?

The only other thing I can think of is to restore the iPod. This will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings so make sure you have everything backed up. Once the restore is complete it will connect to iTunes and give you a prompt name the iPod and to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

first of all, no one is going to respond to this becuase limewire is used basically in your situation illegally. But let's say you import a cd, left click on the songs you imported and hit get album artwork, if nothing comes up, the album sn't in the itunes database, get it online. And I suggest never to mention limewire and music files on the same post here, since limewire is a file sharing program. Use Itunes, it's easier. theo

Looks like the iPod Hardisk is having problem.
Can you do the iPod Disk Diagnostics as posted by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.
You system check maybe above but dont go for Auto, select the Manual test, as tt2 described in his detailed post.

That message is telling you that you do not have enough stgorage on the iPod to accomodate all the media you are trying to sync to the iPod.

Cant Restore ipod mini

My Ipod mini has the folder with an exclamation point icon on it and I have tried all the solutions apple provided and none have worked to solve the problem. So I tried to restore my ipod mini and even that didnt work. I switch my ipod mini into disk mode so that the ipod updater software can recognize it but as soon as the updater software connects to the ipod mini, the ipod then restarts itself and the updater software is no longer connected to the ipod and goves me the error "cant mount ipod". I have tried restoring it several different times on different USB ports several times. I am stumped and have no idea how to solve this problem and help would be appreciated.

If your iPod is recognized in Explorer, close the updater program and try this.
Click on start/control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management/right click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”.
Choose something lower down the alphabet, say “M”, or something similar.
A drive letter conflict can sometimes cause the 'can't mount iPod' message.
Then try the restore again.

Cant rename my folders nor files

Just got macbook pro 10.6 and I have a weird problem. I cant rename folders or files which I have created. When I click on them, then they wont become active so that I could rename them. I haven't set any security settings that wont allow me to rename them. I also cant create new folder to Applications, the button isnt active/isnt there but it is active when I want to create new folder in Documents. I have set up admin account and standard account which only I use and problem is in both accounts.
Can anyone help me?

I got everything working eventually...I restored the factory settings, erased everything and installed it again. Followed this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3910
This way I got to make new folders in Applications which didn't work before.
And behind folder and file renaming issue was that I just holded the mouse click down way too long. I got the hang of it now. In my older mac I was used to holding it down longer and it seemed to work well, I also checked settings in system preferences and they were same in double click. So I tried on my older mac to hold the click down for a much shorter time and vola, it worked. ...dont want to think about the time I had to hold click down on my older mac...all those things that I could have done with this time instead....:D
...just putting it out here so if anyone might have same problem...it's just a matter of practice.
Anyway I am happy I got it resolved and hope everyone else are too!

Have had a new router, and I cant get ipod or iphone 3gs to connect to it.

Does the iPod see the network?
Do you get an error message?
Does it connect to other networks?
Have you tried:
- Resetting the iPod, Nothing will be lost

- Powering off and gthen back on your router

My ipod was in recovery mode and fixed it. i can use it. but the problem is whenever am i connect it with itunes it says IPOD is in recovery mode even after recover is done. i cant sync ipod rite now. it showing same msg again. nyone knows wat to do plz??

I did the restore and it cleared and reset the iPod but after it finished the same error came up. I tried this 3 times. Also it no longer shows up as a drine in My Computer.
if it's relentlessly doing that to you, it's plausible that the message is being caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. (that's consistent with the disappearance for My Computer, too.)

I cant seem to connect my ipod shuffle 4th generation with my itunes account..
-I have the latest itunes
-I have the latest macbook software
-I tried to turn off the shuffle and turn it on again - no difference!
-I tried to restart my macbook - no change!
-I tried to change USB - no change!
I tried to follow apple's walk through - but it didnt help..
Earlier when I bought the ipod shuffle from apple I connected it to a regular computer with windows 7..
-Theres currently music on the ipod, but Id like to change it..
Any idea to how I can solve this?

It appears that you don't see your iPod shuffle in iTunes when you connect it to your Mac.
You have tried several good troubleshooting steps, and there are a few more that I'd recommend from the support article If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac.
You mentioned trying to change USB, and I want to make sure that includes all three of these steps:
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Also, be sure to use the steps in this article when you reset your iPod:

If you have installed security or antivirus software, this tip may help:

Updated to IOS 4.0.1 now i cant use ipod feature on my phone!

When i go onto the ipod it closes after a second or 2. Ive tried re starting the phone but it doesnt make a difference. Im annoyed as ive just purchased 2 new albums on itunes and cant listen to them now! I tried to check that the had been downloaded succesfully by going onto uitunes and purchased, but again it just closed the screen.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I upgraded to iOS4 when it was first released. Havent had MUCH issues with it yet, but last night I downloaded a couple of albums via the store, and since then the iPod app crashes after 2-3 seconds, just like you.

can't get click wheel ipod game to work on my ipod. all the instructions say is to sync it to my ipod but i'm pressing syncc and the game is not syncing and the games tab is not showing, and i cant drag and drop the games. the games are : Pirates of the carribean, agiers fire, and spore origins both say that they can be played on ipod nano 4th generation, which I have, please help it,s a waste of $16.00, HELP!!

I already fixed the issue, it seems trhat in dreamweaver the fonts ttf , otf, etc must be in a folder named webfonts, and then dreamweaver connects the fonts stylesheet to the main stylesheeet with @inport.I had to unisntall the fonts from my windows and download them again and add tehm with dreamweaver add web fonts feature.
