Cant restore iphone 3gs new br
I have iphone 3g new brand.i got it from my friend from another country.so want to install firmware on it.
i tried with itunes(windows).but i got error while restoring. itunes already updated to the latest version..
any one have solution for this problem.?

The phone already has the latest Operating Service on the device.
You can reset the phone by going to 'Settings > General > Reset' (at the bottom)

The only advice we can give is to try and put it into DFU mode and restore. If that doesn't fix it, buy a new phone.

I backed up my ipad to the cloud as it had a broken screen so I swaped it out for a new one and now I cant restore because the new Ipad has IOS 6 and my back up is 6.1! This is what I get for buying an Ipad twice in a week because of a broken screen? $500 the first buy and then another $299 plus tax for the swaped out one that I can't restore with my backup data.
I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

You are right there as a weard issue try with the battery comes out and then try to connect to the itunes should be working properly, if not fix the power on/off button because are escential to do it.

Unable to restore Iphone 3GS 1604 Error

I have been trying for hours to restore Iphone 3GS in XP. All i did was click "yes" to update iphone and now I am in a mess. Tried reinstalling, different ports, different cables, still unable to restore.I'm not sure, or else more people would be posting about it. Best way to tell is try at a different time.
Also, you could try putting the phone in Forced Recovery mode as outlined in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
Also, are you using iPhone cables or iPod cables? If you're using the appropriate cable and the same thing happens, then hopefully your phone is still within warranty and you can go to an Apple Store for the Genius Bar. -
I have download iOs 7 from the internet and didn't know it was illegal.
I had used ios 7 but suddenly my iphone crashed and now, if i connect it to my pc it says cant restore iphone "No developpers acount"
Help I cant do anything now HELP PLEASEEE!!!!Either pay to join the developers program or get yourself a phone you can use until iOS 7 is released in the fall.

I cant restore iphone. Itunes sees device, but I cant restore. DFU mode fails as well
I cant restore iphone so i can use as an ipod touch. Itunes sees device, but I cant restore. DFU mode fails as well. It acts like it's restoring but after verification, i still am back at square one.
When restoreing There is an n/a after capacity and serial number etc. After restore it restarts and recognizes device bu has iphone in large print in the window wher Capacity and serial number were. Any help would be appreciated.

Error 3014 when restoring iphone 3gs
Hello everyone.
This is my first post.
I have an iphone 3gs 8 gig, which i have been using just fine for about a year now but yesterday I tried to update the software as I was running an old version (4.2 I think?) and the facebook ap and some others were no longer supported. So I updated my itunes to the latest version (10.7.021) then backed up my iphone to make sure I didnt lose any data/pictures. It then downloaded the new ios software and tried to update the iphone. It extracts the software fine, but hangs just after with the error message:
"The iphone could not be restored, An unknown error occured (3014)"
Im running windows XP on a toshiba satellite pro laptop, all my windows updates are up to date and I am connected correctly to the internet.
Can somebody please help me as I now have a completely dead iphone
If I cant get the new ios to work on this older 3GS is there a way I can instal a version that will work?
This phone has never been jailbroken and I dont want to start doing that sort of thing now really..

CarlyHi there, thanks for taking the time to reply. I have read every single post that I could find on this error code. Most are unhelpful posts such as yours, but the ones with actual advice I followed to the tee and still I cannot get my phone to restore. Ive turned off fvirewalls, connected via a cable, tried a different usb port (4) tried 2 different cables, tried connecting directly to my router and wirelessly all with absolutely no resolution.
Do you have something else I could try rather than a patronising reply about ettiquette?

My laptop died beyond repair. I have an iPhone 3GS and I have installed iTunes on my new PC and when I load it, with my iPhone attached, it is blank. I have made a copy of my photos but dont want to lose my contacts, calendar entries and apps. How can I get them all into my new iTunes without all the system files/folders? I have been assured it can be done, but cant find another article on the Support forum.
I use the phone for business which is why all these things are important to me. If I lose my music library it wont be the end of the world...but if this can be transferred too this would be great!
I also use iCloud and my calendar items and contacts appear to be there okay...
Any help gratefully received!
SarahIf you have important business information you must have made regular backups of your laptop, so just restore the most recent backup to the new computer.
If the information wasn't important enough to back up there is still hope, but I suggest not making the same mistake twice.
