Cant retrieve old account passwords

I have used two previous email addresses with my Itunes account. My laptop died and when I replaced it with a new one I found half my music library would not play. I need the old passwords to go with the email addresses to authorise my account. How can I retrieve these old email address passwords?

Even if you're being prompted to log into the old name of the account to play these purchases, all you should have to do is replace all of the prompted details with the current account details.
For example, lets say the account used to be named AAA and the password AAA. You then changed the name to BBB and the password to BBB. Depending on when the change was made, you may be prompted to log into the AAA account to authorize or update your downloads.
However, the AAA details are no longer stored anywhere. It isn't letting you log in with this information to authorize the purchases, because the AAA information isn't kept anywhere on Apple's side. These details were changed, so you need to take out AAA whenever you're prompted to log in to it, and change it to the BBB information.
If all you did was rename the account (instead of accidentally creating a new one or something), that should sort out the problem you're describing.

As rex already mentioned, Apps and other content are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. No transfers. No combining Apple IDs. Forever means forever.
In practice, this means any apps you currently have - free or paid - will need to be either repurchased using your new Apple ID or downloaded again if free. Until you refresh all of your apps, your iPad will ask for credentials to the old Apple ID any time one of the apps is updated.

I go in to setting -iCloud - delete iCloud account from My Ipad but it need the old account password to turn off Find my IPad

Cannot retrieve old account

Greetings!
A couple years ago, I created a Skype account called 'jeutie', it was attached to one of my hotmail e-mail addresses. (*removed for privacy*) Sadly I forgot the password to the account, and the two e-mail addresses have been deleted.
By thus I do not see a way to retrieve my accounts. Could any of the moderators be so kind to assist me in linking the old account to one of my current e-mail addresses so I can delete it and stop using my current account 'jeutie_lol'? Thanks already!

I think there are nothing special about the links they are sending. Most likely those are regular reset password links options which can only be used if your registered email address is still accessible, or if you have a billing history.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

FileVault asking for old account password when upgraded to Mountain Lion

This is not good.
I recently updgraded to Mountain Lion.
After the upgrade process, my account log in no longer was accepted by FileVault. (FileVault Legacy)
The system is stating that:
" Your user accont password is different fomr your FileVault Password
This can occur if your user account password was changed recently. To update your FileVault password and continue loggin gin, enter your old user account password"
Yet, the last time I changed my password was perhaps over 1 year ago, certainly not recently, and defenitely after many OS upgrades?
How can this happen??
Now I can not access any files (Am I expected to remember a password from 1year+ ago?) ... Major Fail.
Anyone having the same issue or a tip to get out of this crazy loop?

Repair your permissions, go to applications then utilities, then disk utility. On the left hand side click on mac HD, then click repair disk permissions. Restart your computer and test again once permissions repair is complete.

Hey Bikash thanks for the quick response.. and correct me if i am wrong ...I had come across this forum before ...the solution you have provided requires to actually fire a query to the db I want to avoid that...the other solutions are for 10g while i am working with 11g 11.1.1.5 to be precise.

Cant retrieve e-mail, password wont authorise even though I can send mail.

I have set up all settings, gone through all I can think of and I still cant get my mail either through Outlook express in classic or Mail. I get the message"the pop server "pop.tiscali.co.uk" rejected the password for user. I dont understand why I'm not the user and why I can send but not get mail...cos I'm still the user whether I send or receive. I have a pc which I am using to get my mail at the moment, which is on the same address and settings, but it just wont work with the Mac...any suggestions other than temper tantrums!! help me Please...

You may have some password confusion going on here.
You will have a password and username for your broadband connection. You would have entered this in the netgear router at some time to connect onto tiscali.
The netgear router is the bit that contacts tiscali and makes the broadband connection with tiscali, not the mac.
Your mac makes a connection with the netgear router with whatever password you might have given the router the router then allows the mac to route through to tiscali. This is where the 'purple ball with a yellow lightening pattern in the middle' come in - Internet Connect - it is one of the ways for establishing a connection with the outside world - in this case the netgear router. As long as you are able to access web pages with safari or whatever then you are logged onto your router and that is logged onto tiscali and its email server. (As long as the internet is working you could quit Internet Connect and ignore it)
You may have a separate password and username for your email account at tiscali - this you should have entered in the mail preferences for you account details. Although tiscali allow you to have the same password and username for both the broadband connection and the email account.
Anyway you originally said that you can send emails but not receive them.
1. You are connected to tiscali broadband otherwise you would not be able to send emails.
2. The problem lies with the settings on the mail setup. If you are able to receive emails on you pc then have a look at the settings on Outlook Express?? and see if they are the same as the settings on mac mail.
3 Consider whether you are entering the correct password/username. You could check by going to the tiscali web page and logging into your email on the web.

Cant remember iCloud account password???

OK so... My boyfriend and I share an iPad. My Apple ID is currently being used for most things on the iPad but my boyfriend made the iCloud account in his email so anyways now the guy can't remember the password, security question answer OR the password to the email he used when he set it up so he can't receive the email to re set... Our iCloud storage needs to be backed up like immediately but we can't do anything about it giving this situation. Any ideas?? iCloud won't let us back up or even sign out without the password.

What's the precise text of that message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that mention Windows Installer, but I can't place your one at the moment.)

When downloading Apps from the Apps store will always follow the Apple id login. Please sign in with the apple id in which you used when downloading the apps to enable you to then update listed app.
