Cant rotate a page in acrobat x

Hi,
In a 10 page document for example, 1 page happens to be oriented the wrong way. I want to rotate it. I highlight the page and using panel on the right hand side click rotate then select page or pages and then ok. But it does not rotate the page at all. I also notice that if I open a document and try rotate it using the menu at the top of the screen, it does rotate the full document but when I save the change and open the document again later it's back to it original way. That's 2 questions - I'm new to this forum thing so if I'm only allowed one question then the first one is more important. Thank you

Hi Brian ,
I would request you to please check the page direction and page orientation .
Give a try with other options and compare the results.
You may also check with some other PDF and check .
Let us know if the issue still persists.

  • Cant Rotate First Page of ANY pdf

I can no longer rotate the first page of ANY pdf. If I try to rotate all pages, every page but the first will rotate. If I try to rotate only the first page I get a message saying "Invalid Page Range". I've been using Acrobat for years and never had this issue come up.

Try re-creating the PDF by printing through Adobe PDF printer.
Open PDF in Acrobat -> Go to File -> Print -> Choose PDF Printer -> Save the file.
Now the check if issue still exist on newly created file.

  • Rotate single page in Acrobat 8

How can I permanently rotate a single page in a multi-page document? I have Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Professional, and, if it helps, Windows XP.
    Thanks in advance!

The method I use is I select the page from the page thumbnails pane.
    1. If the page thumbnails pane is not visible then press F4.
    2. Right-click the page you want to rotate in the page thumbnails pane and select Rotate Pages…

  • Can I change the order or rotate pages in acrobat reader?

This may be a silly question... I actually own & use Pro, so I don't use Reader. But my grandmother has the reader and wants to know if she can change the order of pages (and rotate pages) in acrobat reader. Or does she need to buy acrobat standard?
    Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, she can't with just the free Reader. But she can ask you to do it for her...

  • Rotating a page in Adobe Reader X

In Adobe Reader X how do you rotate a page to save that view?

You can't. You need Acrobat to do it.

  • Disable Auto-Rotation in OCR Process (Acrobat 9 Pro)

Is there a way to disable the auto-rotation step as part of the OCR process? I have documents which I assemble in from images of tables. (If I had acces to the text of the tables, I wouldn't be using images of them). I place each screenshot in the correct orientation, but when I have Acrobat 9 Pro OCR the document, it auto-rotates many pages into the wrong orientation (some 90° clockwise; others 90° counterclockwise and some 180°). Since Acrobat is horribly confused by what it is seeing, I need to disable the auto-rotation part of the process so that it will OCR what it finds exactly as it finds it.

Very likely the pages of interest have a least one character of renderable text. This might not be readily seen by you or me but it'd be there.
Acrobat's OCR will not process a page that has any renderable text.

  • Rotate a page in a pdf doc

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 standard installed. I am trying to rotate 1 page out of a 50 page pdf document.
Documents -> Rotate Page feature is grayed out. And so is Pages -> Rotate Page.
Is this feature not available in AA 9 standard? Is there another way to rotate just one page and not the entire document?

Thanks for the help. I upgraded to AA 9 Pro and it resolved my problem.
    Thanks,
    Christine

  • Short-cut key to rotate current page

In Acrobat Pro 9, Is there a single key stroke to rotate current page clockwise/counter clockwise 90°?
Not Shift+Ctrl-R, because you have to select some parametes. It is not a single key stroke.
If not, then how to do that by some ways, e.g., macro, script...?

    hi dinesh ,
This is not working.with this key it exits the workbench, but with out exits the workbench how can we go to the command field area.
    bye

  • Rotate all pages in a file

I have not purchased Adobe acrobat yet and have a product question.  I just transferred my fax number to an online service and found that I often receive faxes upside down.  Is it possible to easily change all of the pages in the file at once and then save the file so that the pages always appear right side up or do I have to rotate each page in the file one at a time?

Until a "button" is added one can use Acrobat Pro's Batch Sequence(s).
Acrobat 8 or 9 Professional provide a sequence (Rotate Pages) that can be used in a Batch Sequence.
Rotate Pages can be configured to rotate a specified direction, to process all pages or a page range, to rotate even/odd page choices, and to process pages having a specified orientation.
Multiple Batch Sequences might be configured or a single Batch Sequence with sequence "Rotate Pages" used multiple times.

  • On Samsung Galaxie Tab 10.1 How do you rotate a page in Adobe Reader

Is this feature completely missing from the tablet version of the app?
Does it only works on the PC version?
    tomm

    On PC:
Download Adobe Acrobat XI free trial.
    Load the PDF document.
Rotate all pages 90 degress clockwise.
    Save the document.
    On Tablet:
    Delete the PDF file.
    Download the rotated PDF file.
Open the downloaded PDF file in Adobe Reader on tablet.
Seems like a lot of trouble for such a simple thing IMHO.

Glad you got it working! I work in Adobe Acrobat Pro X and that is where the Tools>Pages>Rotate is located. I had this problem a few weeks ago as well. Cheers!

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Message "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display page correctly.

    Hi everyone,
I posted this in September: "Over the past week, I have received pdfs from 2 different graphic design contractors that do not open correctly in Acrobat 9 Pro. There is an error in the document and when I scroll to the page where the error is, I get: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." I did this, and the contractor remade the pdf 3 times, and I still couldn't open it. This contractor is already using CS5. For the problem today, I haven't asked for it to be remade yet--decided to see if I could find out if anyone else is having the same problem. The second contractor is using CS4. The only thing that I have done differently at my end over the past week is upgrade CS4 to CS5. I already had Acrobat Pro 9 so I didn't update it when I updated my CS5 products. Should I have upgraded Acrobat 9 anyway? Somehow, it doesn't feel right that this is the problem. Any info on this would be appreciated."
I got one response from that posting, suggesting that the pdf was corrupted over email. That wasn't the problem.
What I didn't say above is that whenever I got an error message upon opening the pdf and clicked OK, I got another message: "Insufficient data for an image." I found that one or all of the images in the pdf were missing. Upon further investigation, the contractor and I found that sometimes the error message pointed to a specific font used--that being a Helvetica Bold font. Once we substituted it with a Helvetica Neue LT Std Adobe Opentype font, we no longer had an issue.
However, the problem rose it's ugly head today--what, 6 months later! I'm talking about 2 different pdfs this time.
For PDF#1, I got this error message about the font: "Cannot extract the embedded font 'JNAGNS+HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."  When I click OK, I get another: "Insufficient data for an image." The images don't show up in the pdf. What I don't understand about this pdf is that this is one of those that was fixed in September. The only changes made in the document was to paragraph text--none to the text in the images. When I opened the revised pdf today, I am getting the same message again. This makes no sense.
I returned to my September blog to see if any further advice had been posted, but nada--not even anything from Adobe about it. I goggled until I found where someone suggested running a "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight. I did that and even though the analysis showed the pdf passed, I checked the fonts in the list and saw that the one pointed to in the error message showed that a long list of glyphs were missing on both pages of the pdf. I have asked my contractor to replace her font with a new one, in case it has gotten corrupted. Haven't a new pdf to open yet.
Then when I opened PDF#2, I got the message: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." When I ran the "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight, I found got this warning: "Invalid operand(s) for operator (1 match on 1 page)". I clicked through and under "Page Description Errors/Invalid operand(s) for operator", it identifies Operator Name, Stream State, Operators Read, and Traversal Path. Under "Trigger Values" is says "Invalid operand(s) for operator: is true". None of this means a thing to me so I can't figure out what the problem is.
Let me say this: Both the contractor and I are using CS5 and Acrobat Pro 9, on Lion. If it helps, the contractor also sent one of the problem pdfs back in September to my boss who is running Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 and she got the same messages.
Does anyone out there have a suggestion for us? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks to all for posting suggestions. As it turned out, the contractor who was having a problem reinstalled Acrobat 9. She works from home and is emailing the pdfs to me. Things were running smoothly until this past week, when the problem started again. Whenever I get a pdf that won't open properly or print, I asked her to zip it and it is no longer a problem. Last week, I had the same problem start with a contractor in Florida and she also zips the pdf when there is a problem. Now I am thinking the problem might be at my end. I wonder if something is happening to them when they come through our firewall at work. I asked IT about it before but they didn't have a clue what the problem might be. Right now, zipping is the answer...who knows how long that will continue to work.
