Cant run itunes on Windows 7

I have just bought a new computer with Windows 7 and I am having trouble with iTunes. I can download the application but once the download is finished I then go into the Donwloads folder and try to open and run the program but nothing hapopens. When I open the file it says 'the publisher could not be verified would you like to run anyway?' so I click on run then nothing happens. Please help???

That's a bit rarer. It's a 1723 error message. (1721 and 1722 are more common.)
Even though the following user tip is about slightly different errors (the 1721 and 1722), perhaps try it with your one too:

You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
This is not an easy task!

Running itunes on windows 8

Wondering what problems there are, if any, running iTunes on Windows 8.

I found an answer at the Mircosoft website that seem to solve any problems running iTunes on Windows 8. Basically setup iTunes to run in Windows 7 mode. Here is a link for the procedure on how to do it.

I have a dell lap top I would like to use iTunes on but cant find a iTunes program for Windows 98. I want to use my iPod with the lap top.

iTunes for Windows was first introduced for Windows 2000 so there isn't a version that works natively with either 98 or ME. You could have a look at XPlay or Anapod, either of which will work with Windows 98/ME. However both of these are commercial programs so you might consider it worth the extra expense to upgrade to XP if your computer will run it. Staying with 98/ME, you may also require drivers, there is a link in the Anapod page to suitable iPod/USB drivers:

I recently loaded Itune on the new computer. I attemted to use Easy Transfer to transfer my Music but was unable to connected the two computers so I transferred my music to a external hard drive and loaded the music on the new computer. I have the folders and files carefully and they appear to match. When I try to run Itunes on the new computer I am unable to access the new music. Itune always goes to the sample music. Are you trying to use the Help -> Updates method?
Both those patches need to be manually applied to PSE 9.
