Cant Save As in CS6 Illustrator or Open Saved files - why?

Have Uninstalled correctly and reinstalled twice now - help?

I looked at the above snapshot and it helps a bit but would like to know if above snapshot is at the state when the AI stops opening the Ai files? If not, then please attach the one for that state as that would really debugging the issue.
Btw, what type of files do you open for the first half 'n hour? What kind of objects are in those files? Do you keep the multiple documents open, if yes, then how many are these?

I have been unsuccessful merging serval pdf files into one file. I select the Sidebar for both pdfs, then drag one pdf on top of the other and Save the Version. When I open the file I think I have saved, it shows only the original pdf. Advice would be

Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
Mac HD/Applications
Trash the Adobe Reader app
Empty the trash.
Download the FULL installer and reinstall Reader: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Launch Reader and accept the license agreement.
You will now be able to download and open PDFs.
Note: the files which say "damaged" are just that. You'll need to trash them, as they cannot be repaired.

Illustrator CS6 Freezing when opening existing files. Need Help ASAP.

Hello There,
I have the most current version on Illustrator CS6. When opening files, any file, it freezing and I have to force quit the application. I have deleted the pref file with some luck, it will only work for a short time. I have held shift+cmd+opt and this too will work 1 in 10 time. I've uninstalled illustrator multiple times. no progress. I need a fix not a band-aid. I am on a mac running OS X 10.8.3. Is this a known issue? I have a co-working having the same issues.

I have removing every one that I have and nothing has worked thus far.
I deleted Vector Scribe Studio, FontExplorererX and that is all I had... still nothing.
What did you remove and/or update?

Adobe CS6 crashes after opening a file authored in CC but saved in CS6 format

I generally create my project assignments for school on the Mac side of my computer (10.9) using Adobe CC 17.1 (latest version). However, if I am not done, and need to do my normal job, I just bootcamp over to Windows 7, and use CC there to finish the job.
I then save the AI file in CS6 format via CC, and submit it to my instructor. However, in both instances (both projects I submitted tha were converted to CS6), they wouldn't open on my instructors Mac CS6 client. No error showed up, nothing froze, Adobe CS6 just showed the splash screen, then closed. Nothing else. She was able to view them in another reader, but of course, that causes issues.
Normally the workflow is like this:
My Mac (10.9): Open CC Illustrator, and design the work.
My Windows 7 (Bootcamp): Open saved CC AI file and continue work.
------(same system): Save CC AI file as CS6 (on windows or mac, either one has producted this result)
Submit to instructor.
Instructor opens on CS6 on her Mac, and it just will not open.
I am wondering if perhaps there is a conversion issue between CC on Mac side, and opening it on CC windows side, and then saving it.
I may have more information, assuming my instructor provides some more details about her mac, etc. But, right now, that's all I have.

Is there anything in Event viewer that might provide a clue? Are you using the same font manager/font server on all systems that you tried to open the file? Any possibility of trying to open on a Mac, where we might be able to get a real crash report? (I'm on Windows as well.) :( Try setting the prefs to not check links on open and see if that makes a difference, and uninstall any font activation plugin if you have one. I don't use a font' manager here -- never found one I thought was any good that I could make work with my system (Font Agent Pro was a candidate, but didn't like my user profiles being on drive D:).

PS CS6 will not open new files, but will re-open old ones

For no apparent reason, and all of a sudden, PS CS6 on this PC will not open any previously unopened psd files. It will open them if I've opened them before. Running win7, have all the latest drivers, versions, etc, including the latest video drivers. Same files will open on my laptop with CS6 no problem. Also files open in CS5 no problem. I did the ctrl+shift+alt deal to reset PS, no help. Any ideas other than reinstall the suite? Is there a way to just reinstall PS?

The system info follows. The only change I've made was switching the gpu mode from "advanced" to "normal". It functions this way, but not when set to advanced.

Adobe CS6 Illustrator crashes when saving (windows)

I have no problem opening my files, but as soon as I want to save my work or I have had the program opened longer than 20-30 minutes, Adobe Illustrator crashes. This problem just started yesterday, and a couple of days prior, Adobe suggested that I download the new update, I can't help but wonder if the update has something to do with the problem?
All my other Adobe programs seem to be working fine (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign).

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like crash logs or where for instance you are storing your files.

On a certain site when saving a file, Firefox doesn't ask me if I want to save or if I want to open the file with a particular program. How do I change that?

I want to open certain file types with a program (eg: adobe illustrator) without having to save it first but depending on the website, Firefox does not as me whether I want to save or open with...

Illustrator CS6 crashes often when saving files

I'm running Windows 7 64bit
I usually have Photoshop CS6, Outlook, Word, Excel open at the same time
I have 8GB Ram
I haven't found a consistent action that causes the crash. I'll just be working in Illustrator...saving a file or closing a file or looking at layers...and it just crashes.

CS6 - can't open a file by double-clicking

upgraded to CS6 and now when I double-click on a jpeg or RAW file it will not open. All I get is a greyed-out Photoshop window. I have to go up to the Photoshop Tool Bar and go File > Open > ........ to open the file.

1. Are you using Windows/ Mac OS?
2. Check the filetype association to ensure the desired filetype is associated with Photoshop CS6 by default. If you upgraded from CS5 or earlier, you may want to force change your filetype association to Photoshop CS6 once for all filetypes you'd like to open with CS6
3. Do you have any dialog box (such as Open) open in Photoshop when you try double clicking a file from your explorer/ finder. In this case, Photoshop will not open the file when you doubleclick outside

I have an older version of imovie. After I change the photos using the Ken Burns effect and save them, the next time I open the file and click 'show photo settings' to change the zoom, the picture appears black and I can't change the zoom?

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.

CS6 is not opening multipage files from previous versions

Good day, we have recently updated to the Creative Suite CS6. One of the users are unable to open multipage files that was designed in previous versions of Indesign. (we have 3 users and only 1 is having this problem. ) It is not giving a specific error code.

OK, it looks like it is not a user issue, so it's most likely a software conflict or a corrupt install.
Do you have any non-Adobe plugins installed? Does it work if you run MSConfig and turn off all non-essential startup programs and services, including anti-virus, and browser plugins?

I have a problem with illustrator for opening a file in PC (OS Win 8.1 pro)

This is the message I am getting it when i open the file (The document's embedded color profile does not match the current CMYK working space. The current CMYK color management policy is to discard profiles that do not match the working space.
