Cant save bookmarked page

I posted this already and cant find it anywhere.I updated to 3.06.17 and now when ever I try to bookmark a page, nothing happens.I tried a suggested fix by going to START button to open Firefox and start in safe mode, but when I open START ..( Windows XP..) there isnt a Firefox folder nowhere to be found. When I find the folder through "MY COMPUTER" and open it,theres only an "EXTENSION" file and a "RES folder" which when opened, theres nothing in them.

There 5 ways to save a new Bookmark in Firefox. None of them work to actually save the new bookmark? <br />
1. {Ctrl + D} <br />
2. Right-click and select Bookmark this Page. <br />
3. Bookmarks > Bookmark this Page <br />
4. Double-click the Star that is on the right side of the Location bar. <br />
4a. (A single-click on the Star will save the new Bookmark to the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.) <br />
5. Letf-click and drag the website image ''(Favicon)'' in the URL bar (or on the active tab) into the Sidebar view of Bookmarks {Ctrl + B} <br />
or to the Bookmarks menu bar item ''(the drop-down will open)'' and then onto the drop-down listing of your bookmarks and folder of bookmarks ''(folders will open)''<br />
or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar - the new bookmark will be saved when you release the left mouse button

  • Cant save a page in illustrator 10

    Help
I have an illustration that I have drawn in Illustrator 10 and have coloured in, but I can save the Black and white version and save a copy.
But I want to save a copy of the coloured version but the button is greyed out. Why??
Is it something to do with the colour, files etc ?
Need help in knowing what to go through to correct this problem.
I would really appreciate help as I am fairly new to this application.
    Thanks Jean

Sounds weird.  Try saving the artwork using different names.  For instance, for the Black + White version, name it "artworkB+W.ai" and for the color version, save it as "artworkC.ai" ( you'd obviously use your own name instead of 'artwork' ).  But, you should be able to save a copy, too.

  • Cant save bookmarks in safari. Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.2

    Please help.

Yes, this was one of the first symptoms.  Also, shortly after screensaver started, screen would freeze.
I went to OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (COMBO) at:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Combo installation did solve the problem and has been working well since installation.
    Hope this helps.

  • When trying to save page in Yahoo! Bookmarks, I receive blue screen with message:A problem occured while trying to save bookmark. Please try again later. I get the same message every time.

When I click on Yahoo Bookmark Icon & click on Save this page,
I get the normal screen Save To My Bookmarks, etc. I fill out as
normally & click save. That is when I receive blue screen with above message. Frustrating because it lets me go through the process but then will not save. Is this a cookie or privacy issue??

At the top of yahoo bookmarks there is a message:
    To Yahoo! Bookmarks users:
Yahoo! Bookmarks is transitioning and will be exclusively available via Yahoo! Toolbar. During this transition, you will be able to access your bookmarks in read-only mode.We expect the transition to be fully complete by October 20, 2011, after which you will have access to your bookmarks with the ability to add/ edit/ delete bookmarks.
Please download Yahoo! Toolbar for a full bookmarks service. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience during this period.
But the toolbar dosn't work either, even after it is updated, so we may just have to wait.
    Hope this helps :)

  • Safari wont open bookmarked page, "invalid address"

Problem with iPad2. Safari is my browser. Running latest ios.
I have had my photobucket page saved as a bookmark for a couple of years. And until recently no problems accessing photobucket thru that bookmarked url.
But recently, when i select that bookmark, the photobucket page opens briefly and then a popup message says "safari cant open this page, address is invalid". Meanwhile the page is clearly open there in the background, with various items changing etc as normal. I clicked the OK button in the message, but it immediately reappears and will not go away. Safari is then effectively stuck and the only way i can clear it and navigate to any other url is to close, open email, find a link to another url, and click that, this starts Safari on a second page and i can then close both pages if I am quick.
    PITA!
I have tried clearing history, cookies, and deleted the original bookmark and searched for photobucket and clicked on the link in the search results, but as soon as i get to the photobucket page the same thing happens.
I can access the same photobucket page via my PC without any such problems. So its clearly a problem with Safari or something on my iPad.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
    Thanks!

It seems to be caused by Javascript. If you disable it in settings/safari the pop up window will not appear. However the drop down menus etc will not work without Javascript. Best option is to download "Chrome" or "Mercury" or wait for Photobucket to fix it:)
If you enable the "De Bug" console it will sometimes work. I am currently using an Ipad 1 with OS 5.1.1 but the problem also happens on an Ipad 3 with OS 7

How do I save bookmarks from word to pdf?

Not convinced it can't be done... but then I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to do.
I believe what the original poster wants to do is preserve the bookmarks of a Word file into the interactive bookmarks feature of the PDF specification, so that the bookmarks appear as a clickable linked table of contents when that Word file is converted to PDF. You see this in every ebook or iBook. This is easy to do when converting Word to PDF in Microsoft Windows, but I am not sure it is possible from Mac Word because everybody complains about it on the Mac side.
Converting bookmarks to a clickable PDF TOC is easy to do in other software on the Mac, like InDesign. Apple Pages might do it too, but I'm not sure.

  • How do I save bookmark in new firefox release?

The new firefox release does not seem to have capability to save bookmarks to a file. The instructions provided in support seem applicable to older versions. I have saved bookmarks to a file many times before in prior releases.

What kind of bookmarks backup do you want to create?
You can still do this in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) just like in previous versions.
You can find Show All Bookmarks to open the Library in the drop-down list that opens if you click the Bookmarks Menu button that is positioned next to the star button on the Navigation Toolbar.
Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.
*With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar<br>A consequence of this new menu button is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
*There is a star like button to the right end of the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu
*It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu on the toolbars to have menus like the the Bookmarks menu

I recently start using Firefox panorama. If I create a tab group that contains, for example, my favorite stack exchange websites, can I save ("bookmark") this tab group for easy access if I start a new session?

You can bookmark all those tabs and place them in a folder.
    * "Bookmark This Page" and "Bookmark All Tabs" no longer show in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • A bookmarked page opens in a narrow screen on the left not the main page

When I click on the bookmark, a new pane opens on the left of the screen with the bookmarked page. This pane is too narrow to read or use.

Right-click that bookmark and select Properties, then un-check the preference for Load this bookmark in the sidebar, and then click Save.
Using JavaScript buttons on web pages for "Bookmark this Page" causes that preference to be selected when saving the bookmark in that manner. So, don't use those buttons, use the "Bookmark this Page" feature that is built into Firefox instead.

  • How can I save a page, so I can find it later? (i.e. is there a "favorites" section?)

I want to save a page to a section like "my favorites" or something like this, so the next time I don't have to looking for it again. (Internet explorer has "add to my favorites" as an option. Is there anything like this in Mozilla?)

In Firefox favorites are called bookmarks, for details on using them see the [[bookmarks]] article.

  • Safari will not save bookmarks

Hi. Ever since I set up a standard account to use, Safari refuses to save bookmarks. I was able to transfer the bookmarks.plist file from the original admin acct. to standard account. Yet, when I import the bookmarks.plist file into Safari, I get an error message (which provides no advice on how to troubleshoot) telling me that Safari failed to save bookmarks.
I had this problem before with iTunes after setting up a new standard acct. The advice given was to delete the account--which didn't fix that given problem.
    Thanks for any advice.

What exactly happens when you try to save a bookmark?
One thing I always try when an app misbehaves is to quit the app like I describe next then reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Just updated to v3.6.13 and my ability to save bookmarks is gone. Why?

Firefox automatically updated to version 3.6.13 and my ability to save bookmarks is gone. I go to "Bookmark this page" and nothing happens. It happens on both computers I have: Windows 7 and Windows XP.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Firefox will not save bookmarks

I have a new version of firefox and it will not let me allow me to save bookmarks. Nothing happens when I make this attempt. I have gone to support on their site but many are simply windows users. I do not know what to do, any suggestions?

    Hi there,
I use Firefox on both a PC and an Apple and have not run into problems bookmarking pages. I have version 1.5.02 on the Apple.
You have a couple of options when bookmarking: save to a folder in your bookmarks section or bookmarking the page to the bookmarks toolbar. You should go to the Bookmarks menu > open Manage Bookmarks and see if your bookmarks are being saved into a folder...
Post back with particulars of what happens... Rick

  • Safari won't save bookmarks, being problematic

This is a query on a friend of my family's MacBook. She mostly uses it to look at her email and has had it over a year without a problem.
The problem start after (and this is my theory) the computer was left on sleep by accident and the battery was drained. I've tried to recharge and reset the battery as far as possible using the support pages, but no deal- it's broke. That's a separate issues now.
Safari was originally starting up with a message that bookmarks cannot be saved and are unavailable. When I went in and tried to save a bookmark it wouldn't let me, and it wasn't saving a history. Also, it stopped loading anything after I'd visited two pages. The Safari folder had completely disappeared as had the bookmarks plist file.
I downloaded all the system updates, which included Safari, installed and restarted but now Safari was starting immediateltly on boot up, and although not giving a bookmark warning on start up was not saving bookmarks. I could browse as much as I wanted, though.
    Console gave the message: 'Exception occured trying to obtain lock to save bookmarks;
NSException [can't get write lock on (null): Bad address] [(null)]. Bookmarks will not be saved.
I downloaded the new Safari, deleted the old one and installed and restarted. It still started automatically on log in and wouldn't save any bookmarks and there was still no Safari folder in the library, no Safari preferences and no bookmarks.plist. They're there when I click on the bookmarks icon, but that freezes the window.
Also, whenever I select 'view status bar' it turns into a white screen where the browser used to be.
I've also tried moving the preferences folder and restarting to force the computer to make a new one, but it makes no difference.
    Suggestions?

I appreciate your response... however, I should have done a better job of researching this question. There are multiple responses in the "More Like This" sidebar.
    Thanks again.
